Τα distress funds λιγουρεύονται τα κόκκινα δάνεια

“Μας τρέχουν τα σάλια”, ομολόγησε στις 12 Οκτωβρίου υψηλόβαθμο στέλεχος ενός distress fund στους Financial Times, αναφερόμενος στις νέες ευκαιρίες εύκολου κέρδους που παρουσιάζουν υποβαθμισμένα ομόλογα και κόκκινα δάνεια. Μετά από 7 χρόνια εύκολης και απεχθούς κερδοσκοπίας που απέφερε τεράστια κέρδη, τα distress funds λιγουρεύονται την εκμετάλλευση της νέας λείας που εμφανίζεται στον ορίζοντα. Λείας που συμπεριλαμβάνει τα ελληνικά κόκκινα δάνεια.

Παγκοσμίως υπάρχουν περίπου 400 distress funds, που είναι στην ουσία μια υποκατηγορία των hedge funds, η οποία έχει ως στόχο τα «δάνεια δυστυχίας». Τα hedge funds έχουν στη διάθεση τους συνολικά 2,87 τρις. δολάρια σύμφωνα με το Hedge Fund Research, και οι «αποδόσεις» τους μέχρι σήμερα είναι εντυπωσιακές. Παράδειγμα το Dromeus Advantage Greek Fund που βραβεύτηκε το 2013 από τη γαλλική τράπεζα Societe Generale ως ένα από τα καλύτερα νεότευκτα hedge funds, γιατί «είδε» ευκαιρίες στην Ελλάδα και κατέγραψε «αποδόσεις» που έφτασαν μέχρι και 40% το 2012 και 11% τον Ιανουάριο του 2013.

Η μέθοδος «απόδοσης» των hedge/distress funds είναι απλή: αγοράζουν υποβαθμισμένα ομόλογα/δάνεια από τράπεζες και άλλους δανειοδοτικούς οργανισμούς σε τιμή πολύ μικρότερη της ονομαστικής τους αξίας και απαιτούν από τους δανειολήπτες την αποπληρωμή τους με βάση την ονομαστική αξία, πιέζοντας τους με απειλές κατασχέσεων. Εκτός από την Ελλάδα, η Αργεντινή, το Πουέρτο Ρίκο και πολλές άλλες χώρες έχουν ήδη γευθεί και έχουν πληρώσει ακριβά την στυγνότητα των hedge funds.

Μόλις μυρίστηκαν ότι πλησίαζε η συμφωνία με την τρόικα για τη μεταφορά δανείων, οι γύπες των hedge funds ξανάρχισαν να περιτριγυρίζουν την Ελλάδα. Ο πρόεδρος του Αμερικανικού-Ελληνικού Εμπορικού Επιμελητηρίου ανέφερε τον Οκτώβριο, σύμφωνα με το International Balkan News Agency, ότι τα επενδυτικά κεφάλαια που θα εμφανιστούν πρώτα στην Ελλάδα είναι τα distress funds, γιατί ενδιαφέρονται για τα κόκκινα δάνεια.

Πράγματι, στη συνέλευση του Επιμελητηρίου στην Αθήνα (30/11-1/12/2016) παρευρίσκονταν αρκετοί αντιπρόσωποι μεγάλων hedge funds. Στην ίδια εκδήλωση, όπως μετέφερε η Ημερησία, «ιδιαίτερη σημασία έχουν όσα είπε ο επικεφαλής του ΤΧΣ», που τόνισε ότι «τα κόκκινα δάνεια έχουν μέσα τους κρυμμένη υπεραξία, η οποία θα απελευθερωθεί σταδιακά».

Ένα σημαντικό ερώτημα είναι τι τίμημα θα καταβάλουν τα funds για τα κόκκινα δάνεια. Εάν, όπως ανέφερε η Αγγλική έκδοση της Καθημερινής στις 13 Δεκεμβρίου, προσφέρουν 5-15% της ονομαστικής αξίας για τα κόκκινα επιχειρηματικά δάνεια, πόσο πιο εξευτελιστική θα είναι η τιμή που θα προσφέρουν για τα καταναλωτικά και τα στεγαστικά;

Οι εκπρόσωποι των funds που μίλησαν στην παραπάνω εκδήλωση εκτίμησαν, σύμφωνα με την Ημερησία, ότι “οι τιμές πώλησης για τα καταναλωτικά δάνεια χωρίς εξασφαλίσεις υπολογίζονται στα 4-5 σεντς του ευρώ για να έχει απόδοση”. Πως να μη τους τρέχουν τα σάλια αν πρόκειται να βγάλουν κέρδος μέχρι και 95 ευρώ για κάθε 5 που θα επενδύσουν;

Έχει ανακοινωθεί ότι τα κόκκινα δάνεια πρώτης κατοικίας, καταναλωτικά και μικρομεσαίων επιχειρήσεων είναι προστατευμένα μέχρι 15 Φεβρουαρίου 2016. Μετά από αυτή την ημερομηνία θα τεθεί σε λειτουργία κανονιστικό πλαίσιο για την προστασία τους, που μάλλον θα ρυθμίζεται από τον κώδικα δεοντολογίας της Τράπεζας της Ελλάδας. Εάν ισχύσει αυτό, η ευημερία των ελληνικών οικογενειών που έχουν κόκκινα δάνεια θα επαφίεται στον οικονομικό πατριωτισμό του κ. Στουρνάρα και των συναδέλφων του, και στο φιλελληνισμό του προϊσταμένου τους στην ΕΚΤ, κ. Draghi. Να κοιμόμαστε ήσυχοι, δηλαδή.
