Η αλήθεια ως ποινικό αδίκημα

Το ψέμα, ισχυρισμός εσκεμμένα αναληθής με σκοπό την απόκρυψη ή παραποίηση της αλήθειας, είναι πιο ισχυρό από την ίδια την αλήθεια. Ενα ψέμα μπορεί να διαρκέσει αιώνες και να γίνει αιώνια αλήθεια. Ορισμένοι εντάσσουν και τις θρησκείες στα μεγάλα ψέματα, μια που αυτά που ισχυρίζονται ως δογματικές αλήθειες δεν μπορούν να αποδειχτούν.

Αυτό είναι χοντρό λάθος. Το ψέμα προϋποθέτει μια εσκεμμένη πράξη και επιδιώκει ένα σκοπό ή ένα κέρδος προς όφελος αυτού που το επινοεί και το διακινεί. Τι υλικό όφελος είχαν οι θεμελιωτές π.χ. του Βουδισμού, του Χριστιανισμού ή του Μωαμεθανισμού; Ειδικά ο Χριστός βασανίστηκε χειρότερα -αν υπάρχει φυσικά τέτοια σύγκριση- από τους κομμουνιστές στα χέρια των ναζί.

Στις θρησκείες μιλάμε για «αλήθειες εξ αποκαλύψεως» που δεν επιδέχονται καμία ορθολογική αντιμετώπιση. Εξ ου και η πίστη δεν διδάσκεται, γιατί βρίσκεται εκτός ορθολογικού πεδίου. Η πίστη είναι προϊόν μέθεξης και δεν χρειάζεται αποδείξεις.

Το ψέμα είναι ο ανταγωνιστής της αλήθειας και αδυσώπητος εχθρός της. Και αν κρίνουμε από την επίσημη-κρατική Ιστορία, είναι αυτή που έχει διαμορφώσει ένα ψευδές μυθικό παρελθόν, όσο το δυνατό ένδοξο και ηρωικό, που αποτελεί την αστείρευτη δεξαμενή τού κάθε εθνικισμού.

Ο Πλάτωνας μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ο ιδρυτής των fake news με την επινόηση της Ατλαντίδας, που ακόμα ψάχνουν να τη βρουν. Πολέμιος της Αθηναϊκής Δημοκρατίας, δημιούργησε μια φανταστική πολιτεία, που ήταν σε όλα καλύτερη από την αθηναϊκή. Και άρα το πολίτευμά της ήταν καλύτερο.

Με άλλα λόγια, η Δημοκρατία ήταν κατώτερο πολιτικό καθεστώς από την ολιγαρχική ουτοπία της ανύπαρκτης Ατλαντίδας. Στις μέρες μας, ανάμεσα σε πολλά άλλα, το πιο διάσημο ψέμα ήταν η είδηση πως ο νυν πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ ήταν μαριονέτα στα χέρια του Πούτιν. Δηλαδή πράκτορας της Ρωσίας.

Και αυτή η «είδηση» κυκλοφορούσε από τη μέρα της εκλογής του μέχρι σήμερα. Και, μέχρι τον Μάρτη που μας πέρασε, ειδική επιτροπή του υπουργείου Δικαιοσύνης των ΗΠΑ ερευνούσε την υπόθεση, εξετάζοντας διεξοδικά όλα τα στοιχεία.

Ολα, αναληθείς κατασκευές, τόσο εξωπραγματικές, που κανείς σεναριογράφος κατασκοπευτικής ταινίας δεν θα τολμούσε να τις χρησιμοποιήσει. Κατασκευαστής δεν ήταν κάποιο αναξιόπιστο ακροδεξιό site, τύπου Βελόπουλου, αλλά ο λεγόμενος έγκριτος και έγκυρος διεθνής Τύπος που απευθύνεται σε ένα μορφωμένο κοινό αξιώσεων.

Υποτίθεται πως ελέγχει και διασταυρώνει τις πηγές του. Αλλά, όταν ο Τραμπ είναι ο στόχος, όλα είναι θεμιτά. Ιδού οι ένοχοι: New York Times, The Economist, Washington Post, Liberation, Monde, Guardian, καθώς και τα έγκυρα κανάλια παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας CNN, BBC, ARTE κ.ά. Κανείς από όλους αυτούς τους συκοφάντες, τουλάχιστον μέχρι στιγμής, δεν υπέστη την παραμικρή δίωξη.

Αντίθετα ένας άλλος δημοσιογράφος, ανεξάρτητος, μέσα από το διαδίκτυο, που είχε τις μεγαλύτερες επιτυχίες από οποιονδήποτε άλλο συνάδελφό του στον 21ο αιώνα και που ουδέποτε διαψεύστηκε καμία του είδηση, βρίσκεται έγκλειστος στις αγγλικές φυλακές σε άθλιες συνθήκες, σοβαρά άρρωστος, και κινδυνεύει να απελαθεί στις ΗΠΑ όπου καταζητείται. Εκεί τον περιμένει μια βαριά ποινή, 75 χρόνια φυλακή.

Δεδομένης της κατάστασης της υγείας του, αυτό ισοδυναμεί με σίγουρο θάνατο. Πρόκειται για τον Τζούλιαν Ασάνζ που ίδρυσε τον διαδικτυακό τόπο Wikileaks. Για δεκατρία χρόνια τροφοδοτούσε τον διεθνή Τύπο με αποκλειστικές, συγκλονιστικές ειδήσεις που σόκαραν την ανθρωπότητα, στηριγμένες πάντα σε αδιάψευστα τεκμήρια. Η πρώτη επιτυχία ήταν ένα βίντεο που έδειχνε μια μαζική σφαγή αμάχων και δημοσιογράφων, από τον στρατό των ΗΠΑ στο Ιράκ.

Αργότερα δημοσιεύει 90.000 ντοκουμέντα των μυστικών υπηρεσιών των ΗΠΑ, σχετικά με τον βρόμικο πόλεμο στο Αφγανιστάν. Και προχωράει ακόμα πιο εντυπωσιακά. Σε συνεργασία με πολλές από τις μεγαλύτερες εφημερίδες του κόσμου φέρνει στη δημοσιότητα 400.000 επίσημα έγγραφα των ΗΠΑ σχετικά με τον πόλεμο στο Ιράκ μαζί με 250.000 διπλωματικά τηλεγραφήματα των πρεσβειών των ΗΠΑ.

Οπως ήταν επόμενο, η αντίδραση των ΗΠΑ ήταν λυσσαλέα. Φυσικά, δεν μπορούσε να διαψεύσει τίποτα. Αλλά μπορούσε να τιμωρήσει, με διάφορα προσχήματα, αυτόν τον πρωτοπόρο της «ελεύθερης επιστημονικής δημοσιογραφίας» που ήταν η θεωρία των Wikileaks.

Και το πρόσχημα βρέθηκε. Η πάντα πρόθυμη Σουηδία στις εντολές της CIA κατηγόρησε τον Ασάνζ για βιασμό. Αλλά αργότερα απέσυρε την κατηγορία. Αυτό αρκούσε για να εκδοθεί ευρωπαϊκό ένταλμα σύλληψης. Και όντως συλλαμβάνεται στο Λονδίνο αλλά κυκλοφορεί ελεύθερος με ηλεκτρονικό βραχιόλι. Και όταν ο κλοιός γίνεται ασφυκτικός, αιτείται πολιτικό άσυλο στην πρεσβεία του Ισημερινού, όπου για εφτά χρόνια ζούσε σε ένα δωμάτιο είκοσι τετραγωνικών μέτρων.

Δεν είχε καμία επαφή με τον έξω κόσμο. Πενήντα αστυνομικοί και ένας άγνωστος αριθμός πρακτόρων παρακολουθούσαν νύχτα - μέρα την πρεσβεία, ελέγχοντας κάθε κίνηση. Αλλά δεν κατάφεραν να εμποδίσουν την τελευταία επιτυχία του Ασάνζ.

Εβγαλε στη φόρα τον βρόμικο πόλεμο της Κλίντον εναντίον του Σάντερς για την προεδρία των Δημοκρατικών. Είναι εντυπωσιακή η έλλειψη συμπαράστασης σ’ αυτόν την ήρωα της αλήθειας. Θα επανέλθουμε, στο επόμενο σημείωμα. Η απειλή για κατάργηση της ελευθερίας του λόγου είναι ήδη παρούσα και λειτουργεί. Ο Ισημερινός, έναντι ανταλλάγματος πούλησε τον Ασάνζ.
