Partie 3 - La défaite de Mélenchon

Nous reviendrons plus tard, dans le détail, sur les causes et les conséquences de la défaite de Jean-Luc Mélenchon, auquel Révolution a apporté un soutien critique. Ici, soulignons simplement que les causes de cette défaite sont à chercher non seulement du côté de la direction de la France insoumise, de sa politique au cours des cinq dernières années, mais aussi du côté des directions des autres partis de gauche. Chacune à leur manière, les candidatures du PS, des Verts, du PCF, du NPA et de Lutte Ouvrière ont contribué à cette défaite. Enfin, n’oublions pas la responsabilité des directions syndicales. Au nom de « l’indépendance syndicale » (cette hypocrisie notoire), elles n’ont pas levé le petit doigt pour tenter de mobiliser les travailleurs autour de la seule candidature susceptible de battre Macron et Le Pen, à savoir celle de Mélenchon.

Si la droite et l’extrême droite sont très largement majoritaires dans les urnes, aujourd’hui, ce n’est pas parce que la classe ouvrière a soif de contre-réformes et de régression sociale. C’est parce que les dirigeants officiels de notre classe – tous, sans exception – ont été incapables d’orienter la colère et la frustration des masses, qui ne cessent de croitre, vers une victoire électorale de la gauche. Le problème fondamental est là, et nulle part ailleurs. C’est donc à ce problème qu’il faut s’attaquer, car il va se poser de nouveau dans les années à venir – non seulement sur le plan électoral, mais aussi et d’abord sur le plan des luttes sociales.

Quelle que soit la composition du prochain gouvernement, qu’il soit présidé par Le Pen ou Macron, de grandes luttes seront à l’ordre du jour. Les jeunes et les travailleurs ne se laisseront pas dépouiller sans mot dire. Aux sceptiques et cyniques professionnels qui, ce soir, se lamentent sur le soi-disant « faible niveau de conscience » des travailleurs, ceux-ci répondront, tôt ou tard, par de puissantes mobilisations sociales. Nous n’avons pas le moindre doute là-dessus. Mais dans le même temps, nous savons que la classe ouvrière ne peut pas prendre le pouvoir et en finir avec la source de tous ses maux, le système capitaliste, sans disposer d’un parti révolutionnaire, d’un parti déterminé à engager la transformation socialiste de la société. C’est à la construction de tels partis qu’est engagée – en France et ailleurs – la Tendance Marxiste Internationale. Pour nous aider dans cette tâche urgente et indispensable, rejoignez-nous !

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on.
