At last: Nina Turner blows up the liberal machine, clearly pointing both neofascism and neoliberalism as the evils that the Left must fight until final victory

It was about time. We thought it would take centuries until someone from the Left would dare to say the word "neoliberalism" inside the nest of the US liberal machine.

Nina Turner was meant to be the one who finally told the truth as clearly as she could:

Progressives are still on the mission, understanding very clearly that we got two dragons we got to slay. We got to slay the dragon of neofascism and slay the dragon of neoliberalism.

That is, in purely political terms and ahead of the 2020 presidential election, progressives will have to fight against two monsters at the same time: Donald Trump (neofascism) and the corporate Dems/never-Trump Republicans alliance (neoliberalism). It would be almost impossible to defeat them both, without their own independent political party.

In essence, progressives will have to fight both factions of the capitalist class that are now involved in a peculiar civil war behind the scenes.

As we explained, what we see now in the United States with Trump, is a counter-attack by the part of the American capital against the globalist faction. The faction that is primarily consisted by the liberal plutocracy. Therefore, as the capitalist class splits, the capitalists around Trump are now taking with them the most conservative part of the American society, as they need electoral power. They have the money and their own media network. Their first big victory was Trump in the US presidency and this explains why the liberal media attack him so hard and so frequently.

Until just a few years ago, it would be unthinkable in the corporate America for someone to enter the US Congress without the help of the banking/corporate money. Yet, things have changed dramatically, thanks to Bernie Sanders and his ability to mobilize young progressives to fight the corporate puppets only with the help of the popular vote. And it worked.

So, naturally, as we wrote recently, the liberal establishment must be feeling losing the ground under its feet, as it sees its main political vehicle being "hijacked" by the progressive wave of real-life, everyday people.

This new situation also explains why in their latest convention, corporate Democrats were desperately looking for an alliance with the never-Trump Republicans. They were simply trying to secure their leadership and therefore, the neoliberal agenda, with an "outside" ideologically affiliate group, against what they identify as the primary threat: the progressive onslaught inside the party.

Therefore, from its perspective, the corporate Dems/never-Trump Republicans alliance will attempt to hit two targets in two successive steps in order to start restoring neoliberal order on behalf of the liberal plutocrats: first, get rid of Trump in November, then, halt/reverse the progressive onslaught inside the Democratic Party.

As we wrote recently, Kamala Harris will have to wait for the never-Trump republicans to assist her after Trump's potential defeat. With Biden/Harris duo in power after November general election and the rebound of the moderate Republicans, progressives inside the Democratic Party will become the last barrier against the liberal machine towards its primary mission to restore neoliberal power.

We should not expect from the progressives, of course, to take the party inside this short time before the November election, especially under current leadership. Let alone to beat both neofascism and neoliberalism in one electoral cycle. For now, progressives will have to fight to stabilize their position inside the Democratic Party, and keep winning more and more battles regardless of the general election result.

And certainly, it would be almost impossible to carry out successfully such a difficult mission being trapped inside the DNC neoliberal beast. They will need assistance from outside.

There is now some significant political activity with grassroots orientation through independent progressives. Apart from the Green Party, we have now a quite promising attempt through the movement for a people's party. On August 30, it has been scheduled movement's first convention with big names from the progressive space, like Cornel West, Nina Turner, Marianne Williamson, Jimmy Dore, etc.

All these progressive efforts inside and outside the Democratic Party could and should be expanded to become stronger in the following years, regardless this year's general election result. More and more people should get involved.

And if all these progressive components manage to co-operate and unite in the following years, we may see quite soon a third grassroots political formation, powerful enough to fulfill the ultimate mission: the destruction of the current bipartisan dictatorship and the definite defeat of both neofascism and neoliberalism in the US.

  1. Good article, & YES - please God!! may it come to pass...however the biggest challenge will be that, if a new Progressives Party starts to gain traction/popularity with the people, to then prevent it's take over by Corporate money all over again, just like the Republicrats. USA needs campaign finance reform 1st, to remove or at least drastically reduce Corporate money from the electoral process.

    1. Thanks. I think progressives are now following a similar path because the most popular of them managed to get elected without the support of big money against wall street and corporate puppets. Just only a few years ago, this would be unthinkable in the corporate America.

Capitalism & Genocide - Yanis Varoufakis Speech at the Gaza Tribunal, 23rd October 2025, Istanbul

Yanis Varoufakis   On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.

WikiLeaks reveals that literally every router in America has been compromised

The latest Wikileaks Vault7 release reveals details of the CIA’s alleged Cherry Blossom project, a scheme that uses wireless devices to access users’ internet activity. globinfo freexchange As cyber security expert John McAfee told to RT and Natasha Sweatte: Virtually, every router that's in use in the American home are accessible to hackers, to the CIA, that they can take over the control of the router, they can monitor all of the traffic, and worse, they can download malware into any device that is connected to that router. I personally, never connect to any Wi-Fi system, I use the LTE on my phone. That's the only way that I can be secure because every router in America has been compromised. We've been warning about it for years, nobody pays attention until something like WikiLeaks comes up and says 'look, this is what's happening'. And it is devastating in terms of the impact on American privacy because once the router...

Confirmed: US imperialists wanted to drag Russia into a war with Ukraine since at least 2019

globinfo freexchange   As we wrote in our previous article, after almost eight years, the US imperialists and the NATO criminals got what they wanted. They finally managed to drag Russia into a war with Ukraine.     We now have indisputable evidence for that, through a document by the top US think tank, RAND Corporation. In the preface of a 2019 report under the title Extending Russia, Competing from Advantageous Ground we read: [emphasis added]                            The purpose of the project was to examine a range of possible means to extend Russia. By this, we mean nonviolent measures that could stress Russia’s military or economy or the regime’s political standing at home and abroad. The steps we posit would not have either defense or deterrence as their prime purpose, although they might contribute to both. Rather, these steps ar...

Already happens: Capitalism destroys human labor force and goes to the next phase

by system failure Connecting the dots one can discover the most nightmarish scenarios. Destructive capitalism's next phase is the total substitution of the human labor force with robotic machines, or in other words, the hyper-automatization. There is a process taking place right now, and no one (or nearly no one) knows what would happen after its completion. The true picture behind unemployment From a latest article in PressTV: “ Did you know that there are nearly 102 million working age Americans that do not have a job right now? And 20 percent of all families in the United States do not have a single member that is employed. So how in the world can the government claim that the unemployment rate has “dropped” to '6.3 percent'?” “ Well, it all comes down to how you define who is 'unemployed'. For example, last month the government moved another 988,000 Americans into the 'not in the labor force' category.” http://www.presstv.ir/detail...

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events. The following is a brief response to Ellsberg’s main points from someone who lives in Nicaragua and has observed the situation directly and intimately: https://grayzoneproject.com/2018/08/15/a-res...
