The European Union did not stand up for international law, the International Court of Justice, or even the International Criminal Court.
The genocide in Gaza, the EU supported it. The illegal war on Iran, the EU supported it. The illegal Israeli occupation of Lebanon, the EU supported it. The illegal kidnaping of the Venezuelan president and a violation of the UN Charter, the EU stayed silent about it.
When the International Court of Justice called for sanctions against Israel, the EU refused it. When the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for war criminals, the EU opened its airspace and welcomed them.
Just last week the EU stated that the EU supported the ICC, and just today, three EU and ICC member countries—Greece, Italy, and France—have permitted Israeli Prime Minister, a fugitive under ICC arrest warrant, to use their airspace to Washington D.C.
The EU policy of double standards. It is not the people of Europe that have double standards, it is the governing coalition of Europe that has these double standards. It is up to the people of Europe to stop them, put an end to these double standards, and steer international law back onto the right path.
