Tortures and a modern Auschwitz

Everyone suspects that the following happen almost everywhere. Western world is transformed into a huge area of brutal police violence and human rights become, more and more, only words in Brussels bureaucrats' papers. The following info come from an article by Kostas Vaxevanis, HotDoc magazine, Issue 42, Dec. 2013.

During last year, 130 immigrants have been drowned in the Aegean sea. For decades, immigrants were following the same paths to Greece, but now, Greek sea is full of corpses. What happened now? Why has this number increased so dramatically, considering that there were 5 to 6 dead in previous years?

Every day we receive reports about immigrants that have been drowned, while men of the coastguard were watching because they had taken orders not to prevent this. This was a brutal policy, giving a picture of a cruel country, in order to prevent immigrants to come to Greece.

There are always children among dead. Under the headlight of the coast guard cutter, people are drowning and the men of the coast guard watching. Those who survive reaching the coast are tortured by hooded police officers who rob them, taking their jewelry, money, cell phones and other things, proceed in "re-forwarding operation". There are hundreds of such stories, but the Ministry of Mercantile Marine and the Ministry of Public Order claim that "such things don't happen, it's all about blaming the country".

In cases that we have investigated, the facts are beyond doubt and verified even by police officers who watch the police losing the democratic morale and the legal function and awarding torturers and racists who "act in order to save country from immigrants".
