A
shocking suggestion by the Centre of Planning and Economic Research
(KEPE)
The report
of economic progress of KEPE, January 2014, suggest that new-hired
young people could work for one year without minimum wage!
Specifically, on page 24 under the title "Actions for fighting
unemployment" is reported that:
"B.
SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUNG UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE OF 15-24 YEARS OLD (15-29
EXTENDED DEFINITION):
- Abolition of the minimum wage for young people up to one year after their hiring, as a strong motive for the business to hire him/her and decide whether he/she is suitable for the position (basic, non-basic knowledge and capabilities). (...)"

Even if a
new worker agree to work under such terms for one year, no one is
able to protect him in case that the business will fire him after a
year to hire someone else to work for free. Neoliberal dictatorship
promotes very fast the modern slavery!
It is worth
to remember that just about a month ago, Troika lenders asked from
the Greek ministries of Labour and Finance to estimate the amount
that the insurance funds would save, in case that they would not pay
not a single new pension in 2014!
"Science
fiction" scenarios unfortunately are verified very quickly:
“If
someone thinks that these are science fiction scenarios we should
remember that just four years ago, or less, massive layoffs, worker
availabilities, dissolved labor rights, closing public organizations
in one day, and many other things, were out of question and no one
dared to say that may would become reality one day. Neoliberal
dictatorship is shaping the suitable conditions for the new Middle
Ages and only the massive and dynamic resistance of peoples can
prevent it.”
