Η φασιστική τρομοκρατία της άλλης 11ης Σεπτέμβρη

Σήμερα [11/9], τα περισσότερα μέσα ενημέρωσης θα αφιερώσουν μέρος της ειδησεογραφίας τους στη 15η επέτειο της τραγικής 11ης Σεπτέμβρη του 2001, μίας συγκλονιστικής ημέρας για όλο τον κόσμο. Θα αναφερθούν στα 2.973 άτομα που πέθαναν εκείνη την ημέρα και στα 4 άτομα που προστέθηκαν αργότερα στο σύνολο των θυμάτων.

Όμως πολύ λιγότερα μέσα ενημέρωσης θα αναφερθούν στην άλλη 11η Σεπτέμβρη, εκείνη του 1973. Όταν το στρατιωτικό πραξικόπημα εναντίον του προέδρου Allende αιματοκύλισε την Χιλή. Αντίθετα με το 2001, τα θύματα την πρώτη ημέρα ήταν λιγότερα σε αριθμό, περίπου 100, σε σύγκριση με τις χιλιάδες που δολοφονήθηκαν μετέπειτα. Η απάνθρωπη χούντα της Χιλής, μέσω μίας βάναυσης δικτατορίας, προέβηκε σε διαφορετικού είδους τρομοκρατία: τη συστηματική δημοκτονία χιλιάδων ατόμων, πολλά από τα οποία βασανίστηκαν φρικτά προτού πεθάνουν.

Οι νεκροί της Χιλιανής τρομοκρατίας αριθμούν χιλιάδες. Το 2011 η κυβέρνηση της Χιλής αναγνώρισε επίσημα ότι οι νεκροί ή οι εξαφανισθέντες κατά τη διάρκεια της δικτατορίας ανέρχονται σε 3.065 και οι επιζήσαντες, βασανισμένοι ή φυλακισμένοι σε 37.000. Όμως ο αριθμός των νεκρών, που έχει υπολογιστεί από μη κυβερνητικές πηγές, είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερος. Οι New York Times ανέφεραν τον Απρίλιο του 1975, μόλις 18 μήνες μετά το πραξικόπημα, ότι οι νεκροί ήταν τουλάχιστον 4.000 και ίσως έφταναν τους 18.000. Ο καθηγητής Rudolph Rummel του πανεπιστημίου της Χαβάης υπολόγισε τους νεκρούς σε τουλάχιστον 10.000, και ότι μπορεί να έφτασαν και τους 30.000, αν συμπεριληφθούν όσοι εξαφανίστηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια της δικτατορίας (1973-1990).

Οι υπολογισμοί των νεκρών διαφέρουν πολύ, διότι η Χιλιανή χούντα έλαβε μέτρα για να καλύψει τις ακρότητές της, εξαφανίζοντας πολλά από τα θύματά της. Το 2001 ο τότε πρόεδρος της Χιλής, Ricardo Lagos, ανέφερε σε ομιλία του στην τηλεόραση φρικιαστικές λεπτομέρειες για την εξαφάνιση 180 ατόμων κατά τη διάρκεια της δικτατορίας. Όπως ανέφερε η Χιλιανή εφημερίδα Nacion το 2003, η χούντα είχε ρίξει περίπου 120 πτώματα από ελικόπτερα στον Ειρηνικό ωκεανό, δεμένα σε σιδηροδρομικές ράγες για να βυθιστούν. Οι σκελετοί 13 ατόμων βρέθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια εκσκαφών για έργα ύδρευσης το 2014 στην τοποθεσία του κέντρου βασανιστηρίων Tejas Verdes. Νέα στοιχεία έρχονται στο φως συνέχεια, όπως η χρήση δυναμίτη από τους εκτελεστές της χούντας, ώστε τα πτώματα των δολοφονηθέντων να μην είναι αναγνωρίσιμα.

Ενώ όταν οι αντίπαλοι της χούντας ήταν διεθνώς διάσημοι, όπως ο νομπελίστας ποιητής Pablo Neruda, διαφορετικές μέθοδοι χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την εξόντωσή τους. Ο Neruda πέθανε 12 μέρες μετά το πραξικόπημα και ο καρκίνος του προστάτη από τον οποίο έπασχε, αναφέρθηκε τότε ως η αιτία του θανάτου του. Όμως πρόσφατες (Ιούνιος 2015) αναλύσεις της σορού του από ισπανικό εργαστήριο δείχνουν ότι μάλλον είχε δηλητηριαστεί.

Και ποιος ήταν ο απώτερος σκοπός αυτών των θηριωδιών; Ο κύριος στόχος του πραξικοπήματος ήταν η επιβολή μίας νεοφιλελεύθερης πολιτικής στη Χιλή, υποστηριζόμενης από τον τότε πρόεδρο των ΗΠΑ, Richard Nixon. Δύο χρόνια μετά το πραξικόπημα, ο τότε πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Gerald Ford και ο διευθυντής της CIA παραδέχτηκαν ότι η CIA συνεισέφερε άμεσα στη πτώση του Allende. Οι νεοφιλελεύθεροι Αμερικανοί οικονομολόγοι γνωστοί ως «Chicago Boys» προσλήφθηκαν από τη χούντα ως σύμβουλοι οικονομικής πολιτικής.

Σε μικρό χρονικό διάστημα επιβλήθηκε η γνωστή «συνταγή»: κατάργηση συνδικάτων και εργατικών δικαιωμάτων, ιδιωτικοποίηση κρατικών εταιρειών, αλλαγή των διοικήσεων των πανεπιστημίων, χειραγώγηση του δικαστικού τομέα και των μέσων ενημέρωσης. Μία συνταγή η οποία έφερε τα αναμενόμενα αποτελέσματα: μέσα σε 2 χρόνια η ανεργία τριπλασιάστηκε και το ένα πέμπτο του πληθυσμού οδηγήθηκε σε ακραία φτώχεια.

Αλλά η Χιλιανή δικτατορία δεν ήταν απλά μία νεοφιλελεύθερη παρέμβαση. Τα φασιστικά διαπιστευτήρια της χούντας της Χιλής είναι αναμφισβήτητα. Ένας πρώην αξιωματικός των ναζιστικών S.S. ο οποίος είχε επιβλέψει την εξόντωση χιλιάδων Εβραίων στους θαλάμους των αερίων, ο Walter Rauff, στρατολογήθηκε ως σύμβουλος της DINA, της μυστικής αστυνομίας της Χιλής. Πρώην μέλη του φασιστικού κόμματος της Χιλής έγιναν πολιτικοί και οικονομικοί σύμβουλοι της χούντας. Η Χιλιανή δικτατορία επιβεβαίωσε για άλλη μια φορά τον ορισμό του φασισμού που έχει εκφράσει ο Αμερικανός συγγραφέας Upton Sinclair, ότι «ο φασισμός είναι καπιταλισμός με δολοφονία».

Η Ελλάδα, έχοντας τη καταματωμένη εμπειρία της χούντας του 1967-1974, οφείλει, ως ελάχιστο φόρο τιμής στα θύματα της δικτατορικής τρομοκρατίας στην Χιλή, να μην λησμονήσει τη μαύρη επέτειο της 11ης Σεπτέμβρη 1973. Μίας ημέρας που σηματοδοτεί μία θηριωδία με πολύ περισσότερα θύματα από αυτά της 11ης Σεπτέμβρη 2001, και την αρχή μίας τρομοκρατίας του λαού της Χιλής που διάρκεσε 17 χρόνια.

Η Ελλάδα οφείλει να δείξει ότι ένας λαός με παρόμοιες εμπειρίες δεν λησμονεί την απάνθρωπη βαρβαρότητα του φασισμού, στη χώρα του και αλλού, και να αποτίσει φόρο τιμής στη μνήμη των θυμάτων της Χιλιανής χούντας. Ίσως με την ανέγερση ενός μνημείου, προσκαλώντας για τα αποκαλυπτήρια την πρόεδρο της Χιλής Michelle Bachelet, της οποίας ο πατέρας πέθανε από τα βασανιστήρια της χούντας του δικτάτορα Pinochet, ενώ η ίδια και η μητέρα της βασανίστηκαν, αλλά επέζησαν.

Διότι ενόσω νοσταλγοί της χούντας κυκλοφορούν ακόμα ανάμεσά μας αμετανόητοι, η μνήμη της φασιστικής τρομοκρατίας δεν πρέπει να εξαλειφθεί.
