The president of the European
Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, presented a proposal containing five
scenarios on which path Europe should take after Brexit. It is not
surprising that the scenarios offer zero real solutions. We shouldn't
expect anything more from a lobby-occupied neoliberal bureaucrat who
has no vision.
What's most surprising however, is
that the first scenario suggests simply to let Europe go on under
current status! In other words, according to this scenario, nothing
needs to change!

The European Union could give up
on its dreams of political union and become “nothing but the single
market” under a radical proposal put forward yesterday by
Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission. The
proposal was one of five scenarios laid out by Mr Juncker in a white
paper designed to kick-start a debate on the future of the EU after
Britain quits the Union in 2019.

Scenario 1. Carrying on
In this scenario the EU27 "sticks
to its course" but, Mr Juncker notes, the speed of EU
decision-making "depends on overcoming differences of views in
order to deliver on collective long-term priorities". In other
words, the decision-making remains unwieldy, as at present.
Mr Juncker says that by 2025 this
strategy will deliver only "incremental progress" on jobs,
economy and the Euro, while on defence, EU co-operation is "deepened
in terms of research, industry and joint procurement" allowing
member states to "pool some military capabilities and to enhance
financial solidarity for EU missions abroad".
Pros and cons: the "unity of
the 27 is preserved" but will still require a "collective
resolve" to deliver on key issues, a resolve that has been
transparently lacking of late, say on immigration and back-stopping
the Euro. The risk, adds Mr Juncker is that in the absence of such
unity, Europe may fail to "close the gap between promises on
paper and citizens’ expectations".
Juncker is a characteristic sample
of the European bureaucrat who has completely lost his touch with
reality and with the average European citizen. He sees the European
titanic sinking, yet, he still considers as a possibility to retain
the same course for the euro-ship that goes straight to the iceberg.
If you still wonder why the nationalists and the Far Right are ready
to take over the continent, just take a look on European officials
like Juncker. There are plenty of them around.
Although
Brexit attributed exclusively to the voters that attracted by the
nationalist rhetoric, the violent austerity imposed to Greece and
other countries by the European Commission, the ECB and the IMF,
deliberately ignored by the establishment. However, Yanis Varoufakis
described recently his experience with the British audience,
concluding that Brexit
would not had occur if the Europeans would not had crush the Greek
government in 2015.
Juncker will never identify the
roots of the current EU collapse. The catastrophic policies promoted
by the bankers and the lobbyists against the 'guinea pig' Greece and
the other eurozone countries.
Well,
no surprise here. Apart from the LuxLeaks
scandal that has been miraculously forgotten very quickly, Juncker
declared openly that Lobbies
and groups of interests in the EU are unavoidable!
So,
don't be surprised when you see the euro-ship sinking because this is
an inevitable ending with such a mix of lobbies'
puppets
in the leadership of Europe.
