Dore discusses with NSA Whistleblower, William Binney, about the
terrifying resemblance of Section 1021, issued by the National
Defence Authorization Act in the United States, with Special Order
48, issued by the Nazis. This is just another evidence of the
crypto-fascist nature of the neoliberal regime that grows rapidly in
the United States and elsewhere. As in the case of Nazi Germany,
Section 1021 aims to suppress every resistance against the regime.
As they
point out:
The NDAA
(National Defence Authorization Act), Section 1021, basically reads
like Special Order 48, issued by the Nazis after 1933 Reichstag fire.
They used that to effectively get rid of all of their opposition and
anybody else they didn't like.
Now, all
the government has to do is say 'you're a terrorist'. And there is
all kinds of terrorism. For instance, the people up at Standing Rock,
they declared them 'environmental terrorists'. Even the people with
Occupy Wall Street, they can consider them terrorists. So then you
don't get any rights, they can put you in jail without charging you
with the crime for the rest of your life. That's what Section 1021 of
the NDAA says. And no due process at all.
