Η Μ.Τζιαντζή για το «This is not a coup»

To τέταρτο ντοκιμαντέρ της Ιnfowar Production θα μπορούσε να έχει τίτλο «Ευρώπη και Δημοκρατία» ή «ΕΕ και Δημοκρατία». Και τούτο γιατί δείχνει πώς οι ίδιοι οι θεσμοί και οι διαδικασίες που συγκροτούν το ευρωπαϊκό πολιτικό και οικονομικό οικοδόμημα στραγγαλίζουν τη δημοκρατία με νόμιμο και ταυτόχρονα ύπουλο τρόπο.

Εύκολο είναι να το γράφει κανείς, αλλά δύσκολο να το δείξεις με εργαλεία την εικόνα, το λόγο, τη μουσική, ακόμα και τις παύσεις. Γιατί αυτή είναι η λειτουργία του ντοκιμαντέρ: δεν απευθύνεται στον αναγνώστη, αλλά στον θεατή. Και μάλιστα στον σύγχρονο θεατή που, σε μεγάλο βαθμό, έχει μια πιο χαλαρή, πιο αποσπασματική σχέση με το συστηματικό, το λεγόμενο «βαθύ» διάβασμα. Το Τhis is not a coup απευθύνεται «και» στους εθισμένους στα social media χρήστες του Ίντερνετ, χωρίς όμως να τους προσφέρει μικρές ερεθιστικές μπουκίτσες. Είναι δομημένο σε κεφάλαια που αλυσιδωτά οδηγούν σε συμπεράσματα. Και εδώ δεν έχουν σημασία μόνο οι σοφίες που ακούγονται αλλά και ο ρυθμός, η αλληλουχία των λόγων και των εικόνων. Ο Άρης Χατζηστεφάνου και οι συνεργάτες του κατάφεραν να δημιουργήσουν ένα προϊόν υψηλών προδιαγραφών και απαιτήσεων. Η «βαριά» πληροφορία συνδυάζεται με ευπρόσδεκτες ανάσες χιούμορ, ενώ μερικές φορές, όπως λέει ο Χάρρυ Κλυνν, «τώρα μιλάνε τα μάτια». Μιλάνε, π.χ., τα μάτια της Μέρκελ και του Σαρκοζί όταν σε συνέντευξη Τύπου τούς ρωτούν αν o Mπερλουσκόνι συμμορφώθηκε με τις υποδείξεις. Και, όπως φάνηκε στην προβολή της ταινίας, το κοινό στην κινηματογραφική αίθουσα πιάνει και τα πιο λεπτά σήματα και αντιδρά γελώντας ή καγχάζοντας.

Το «coup» το πραξικόπημα του τίτλου δεν αφορά μόνο την ελληνική περίπτωση. Υπάρχουν κεφάλαια αφιερωμένα στην Ιταλία, την Ιρλανδία και την Κύπρο, με επιτόπια γυρίσματα και συνεντεύξεις, με εύγλωττα γραφήματα και με αρχειακό υλικό, που δείχνουν με σαφήνεια πώς μεθοδεύτηκαν μια σειρά από νόμιμα πραξικοπήματα με σκοπό την επιβολή νεοφιλελεύθερων πολιτικών.

Μερικές φορές έχει σημασία όχι μόνο το τι λέει κάποιος, αλλά και το ποιος το λέει, όπως συμβαίνει με τις ακόλουθες διαπιστώσεις: «Ο Αλέξης Τσίπρας άλλαξε εντελώς και έγινε πιστός υπηρέτης της γερμανικής ηγεμονίας στην Ευρώπη… Όταν αποφάσισε ότι το συμφέρον της Ελλάδας ή ίσως το προσωπικό του συμφέρον υπαγόρευε τη μετατροπή του σε υπηρέτη της Γερμανίας… όλα άλλαξαν. Η Ελλάδα απεμπόλησε ξανά την εθνική κυριαρχία της και το αποτέλεσμα είναι ακόμα μεγαλύτερη ύφεση». Αυτά δεν τα λέει κάποιος κομματικός αντίπαλος του Αλ. Τσίπρα, αλλά ο Άλαν Φρίντμαν, ένας υψηλής ευφυϊας και διεθνούς ακτινοβολίας δημοσιογράφος.

Η συνεκτική αφήγηση για το ρόλο της Ευρωπαϊκής Τράπεζας και άλλων παραγόντων στο μαγείρεμα πραξικοπημάτων διακόπτεται από παραδείγματα που επεξηγούν οικονομικές έννοιες, τις οποίες δεν είναι δεδομένο ότι όλοι τις έχουμε αφομοιώσει. Έτσι, ακόμα και ο πιο ανίδεος στα οικονομικά θεατής μπορεί να συλλάβει τι σημάνουν όροι όπως spreads, σύμφωνο σταθερότητας, μηχανισμός παροχής έκτακτης ρευστότητας, εσωτερική υποτίμηση κ.ά. Απλά μαθήματα πολιτικής οικονομίας, λοιπόν, αλλά χωρίς δασκαλίστικο ύφος.

Στην ταινία βλέπουμε τα πρόσωπα των ειδικών, των επωνύμων, των πολιτικών, όμως προσωπικά θα ήθελα να δω και τα πρόσωπα που βρίσκονται στην απέναντι όχθη: των ανθρώπων που έχουν ζήσει στο πετσί τους τις επιπτώσεις των νεοφιλελεύθερων πολιτικών και είτε βαδίζουν σκυφτοί είτε αντιστέκονται… έστω και σποραδικά. Είναι πολλά αυτά που μπορούμε να διαβάσουμε στα πρόσωπα των «ανωνύμων»… αρκεί να θυμηθούμε τα δάκρυα και τη γλώσσα του σώματος των μαχητών του ΕΛΑΣ που ακουμπάνε τα όπλα τους στις κινηματογραφικές εικόνες από την εφαρμογή της συνθήκης της Βάρκιζας.

Αν και ούτε μια φορά στη διάρκεια της ταινίας δεν αναφέρεται η λέξη «ρήξη» με την ΕΕ και την ευρωζώνη, σε πολλά σημεία υπογραμμίζεται το ασύμβατο μεταξύ ΕΕ και δημοκρατίας. Π.χ., ο Ζαν-Κλοντ Γιούνκερ λέει ξεκάθαρα: «Δεν μπορεί να υπάρξουν δημοκρατικές επιλογές απέναντι στις ευρωπαϊκές συνθήκες», ενώ ο ιρλανδός βουλευτής Πολ Μέρφι δηλώνει απερίφραστα ότι ο «αριστερός ευρωπαϊσμός» είναι μια αυταπάτη, δηλ. η Ευρώπη δεν μπορεί να εξελιχτεί σε προοδευτική κατεύθυνηση ακριβώς επειδή είναι θεσμικά νεοφιλελεύθερη ενώ η κατάλυση της δημοκρατίας είναι ενσωματωμένη στη δομή της, στο DNA της.

Η ταινία τελειώνει θυμίζοντάς μας τι είχε πει ο Τζορτζ Όργουελ δύο χρόνια μετά το τέλος του Β΄ Παγκόσμιου Πολέμου, δηλ. ότι ο μοναδικός πολιτικός στόχος για τον οποίο θα άξιζε να προσπαθήσει κανείς είναι οι σοσιαλιστικές Ηνωμένες πολιτείες της Ευρώπης. «Κάποιοι όμως αντί να παλέψουν για το όραμα του Οργουελ αποφάσισαν να οικοδομήσουν τους εφιάλτες του. Ένωσαν τους πολίτες στη φτώχεια και τη λιτότητα και τους δίχασαν με νέους εθνικισμούς. Για άλλη μια φορά η Ευρώπη βρίσκεται μπροστά σε δύο δρόμους. Πρέπει να διαλέξει: ή τον ευρωπαϊκό πολιτισμό ή την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση».
