Διπλωματικό επεισόδιο Πορτογαλίας - Γερμανίας μετά τις απειλές Σόιμπλε για νέο μνημόνιο

Το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών της Πορτογαλίας κάλεσε τον πρεσβευτή της Γερμανίας και του επέδωσε διαμαρτυρία για τις πρόσφατες δηλώσεις Σόιμπλε περί νέου μνημονίου που περιμένει τη χώρα, σε περίπτωση που δεν τηρήσει τις δεσμεύσεις της για το έλλειμμα της.

«Η Πορτογαλία θα διαπράξει ένα βαρύ σφάλμα εάν δεν τηρήσει τις δεσμεύσεις της. Θα χρειαστεί σε αυτή την περίπτωση ένα νέο πρόγραμμα στήριξης, και θα το λάβει, αλλά θα συνοδεύεται από όρους που θα είναι εξαιρετικά σκληροί και αυτό δεν θα είναι προς το συμφέρον της Πορτογαλίας», είχε προειδοποιήσει ο συντηρητικός υπουργός Οικονομικών της Γερμανίας κατά τη διάρκεια συνέντευξης Τύπου που είχε παραχωρήσει στις 29 Ιουνίου στο Βερολίνο.

Το πορτογαλικό υπουργείο Οικονομικών είχε σπεύσει να απαντήσει ότι «δεν εξετάζεται κανένα απολύτως νέο πρόγραμμα στήριξης».

Μία μέρα μετά, ο Γερμανός πρεσβευτής Ούλριχ Μπράντεμπουργκ κλήθηκε στο πορτογαλικό ΥΠΕΞ προκειμένου να του επιδώσει διάβημα διαμαρτυρίας. Έκτοτε ακολούθησε ένας διπλωματικός πυρετός μεταξύ του πρεσβευτή της Πορτογαλίας στο Βερολίνο και του πρεσβευτή της Γερμανίας στη Λισαβόνα, προκειμένου να διασαφηνιστεί το νόημα των επίμαχων δηλώσεων του Σόιμπλε και να λήξει εκεί το διπλωματικό επεισόδιο μεταξύ των δύο χωρών. Τελικά οι διευκρινίσεις κρίθηκαν ικανοποιητικές και το θέμα θεωρείται λήξαν.

«Η πορτογαλική κυβέρνηση κρίνει αυτές τις δηλώσεις άδικες και μη φιλικές κι εξέφρασε ήδη τη δυσαρέσκειά της στις γερμανικές αρχές μέσω των συνηθισμένων διπλωματικών διαύλων», είχε σημειώσει μετά τον σάλο που ξέσπασε ο επικεφαλής της διπλωματίας της Πορτογαλίας, Αουγκούστο Σάντους Σίλβα, σε συνέντευξή του στην εβδομαδιαία εφημερίδα Expresso.

Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή ανακοίνωσε πάντως και επίσημα χθες ότι η Πορτογαλία, όπως και η Ισπανία, παρέβησαν τις δημοσιονομικές τους δεσμεύσεις.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique.
