Τι είναι το πρώτο πράγμα που σκέφτεται να κάνει ο απερχόμενος πρόεδρος της τρίτης ισχυρότερης οικονομίας της Ευρώπης, μόλις εκλεγεί ο αντικαταστάτης του; Να επισκεφθεί την Άνγκελα Μέρκελ στο Βερολίνο. Τι είναι το πρώτο πράγμα που θέλει να κάνει ένας νέος πρόεδρος της ίδιας χώρας μόλις αναλάβει τα καθήκοντά του; Να επισκεφθεί την Άνγκελα Μέρκελ στο Βερολίνο.

Έτσι λοιπόν ο Φρανσουά Ολάντ ταξιδεύει μια ημέρα μετά τις προεδρικές εκλογές στη γερμανική πρωτεύουσα ενώ ο Εμανουέλ Μακρόν ξεκαθάρισε ότι η Μέρκελ θα είναι ο πρώτος ξένος ηγέτης που θα συναντήσει. Όσο και αν ψάξετε στο παρελθόν θα διαπιστώσετε ότι οι τελευταίοι Γάλλοι πολιτικοί που δείχνουν τέτοια αναξιοπρεπή υποταγή στο Βερολίνο έζησαν στο κατεχόμενο τμήμα της χώρας στο καθεστώς Βισύ.

Αν είπε κάτι σωστό η Μαρίν Λεπέν, μέσα στον οχετό του νεοφασιστικού λαϊκισμού της, ήταν ότι μετά τις τις εκλογές της 7ης Μαϊου την Γαλλία θα κυβερνούσε μια γυναίκα. Είτε η ίδια, είτε η Μέρκελ.

Τα διθυραμβικά σχόλια του Γερμανικού Τύπου για την εκλογή του νεοφιλελεύθερου τραπεζίτη, δεν αφήνουν περιθώρια αμφιβολίας για το ότι ο πραγματικός νικητής των γαλλικών εκλογών είναι το Βερολίνο. Δεν είναι άλλωστε τυχαίο ότι και οι Έλληνες πολιτικοί της υποταγής – από τον Σταύρο Θεοδωράκη και τον Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη μέχρι τον Αλέξη Τσίπρα, σχημάτιζαν ουρές για να παρουσιαστούν ως οι στενότεροι σύμμαχοι του Μακρόν.

Οι εξελίξεις στη Γαλλία επιβεβαιώνουν όσους υποστήριζαν ότι στο δεύτερο γύρο των γαλλικών εκλογών συγκρούστηκαν (μεταξύ άλλων) και δυο ισχυρά τμήματα της γαλλικής αστικής τάξης. Το πρώτο, που συνδέεται στενότερα με το χρηματοπιστωτικό σύστημα της Φρανκφούρτης, στήριξε ανοιχτά τον Μακρόν αν και γνώριζε ότι αυτό συνιστά ολοκληρωτική παράδοση της γαλλικής οικονομίας στο γερμανικό κεφάλαιο.

Το δεύτερο τμήμα, που συνδέεται περισσότερο με τη βιομηχανία και τον εξαγωγικό τομέα, επιθυμούσε επικράτηση της Λεπέν, γνωρίζοντας ότι η παραμονή της Γαλλίας στην ευρωζώνη με τους σημερινούς όρους γιγαντώνει το χάσμα της ανταγωνιστικότητας με τη Γερμανία δημιουργώντας συνεχώς ελλείμματα και χρέη στον Γαλλικό προϋπολογισμό. Η Γαλλία βιώνει αυτό που οι χώρες της ευρωπαϊκής περιφέρειας ένιωσαν στο πετσί τους τα πρώτα χρόνια της κρίσης.

Σε παλαιότερες δεκαετίες, αυτή η ανισορροπία οικονομικής ισχύος με τη Γερμανία εξισορροπούνταν στο εσωτερικό του λεγόμενου γαλλογερμανικού άξονα, με την στρατιωτική ισχύ του Παρισιού. Το πυρηνικό οπλοστάσιο, οι ισχυρές ένοπλες δυνάμεις και η γεωπολιτική κυριαρχία σε μεγάλα τμήματα της Αφρικής προσέφερε σημαντική αξία χρήσης απέναντι στο Βερολίνο. Οι εποχές αυτές όμως πέρασαν ανεπιστρεπτί λόγω της γιγάντωσης του οικονομικού χάσματος αλλά και της ικανότητας των γερμανικών ενόπλων δυνάμεων να βγουν από το «καβούκι» στο οποίο κρύβονταν από το δεύτερο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο και να διεκδικήσουν το δικό τους ρόλο στην Ασία και την Αφρική.

Η μάχη των ελίτ στις γαλλικές εκλογές διεξήχθη παράλληλα με πολλές ακόμη συγκρούσεις που οδήγησαν σε σαρωτική αλλαγή της εκλογικής ανθρωπογεωγραφίας (πχ επικράτηση της Λεπέν σε προπύργια των σοσιαλιστών) αλλά και ολοκληρωτική κατάρρευση των πολιτικών σχηματισμών του «ακραίου κέντρου».

Ο πόλεμος βέβαια δεν τελείωσε. Το γεγονός ότι ο Ολάντ και ο Μακρόν μεταβαίνουν στο Βερολίνο για να παρουσιάσουν τα διαπιστευτήριά τους, όπως θα έκανε ο τελευταίος πρέσβης μιας μπανανίας στην Ουάσινγκτον, είναι η μια πλευρά των εξελίξεων. Υπάρχουν ακόμη πολλοί λογαριασμοί να κλείσουν στις βουλευτικές εκλογές και ακόμη περισσότεροι στους δρόμους του Παρισιού και των άλλων μεγάλων πόλεων.
