Τα ΜΜΕ θα δώσουν βήμα στους 'χρήσιμους ηλίθιους'. Πρόκειται για πολιτικούς που ασπάστηκαν το κατεστημένο, όχι απαραίτητα επειδή επωφελούνται από αυτό, αλλά επειδή έχουν πεισθεί ότι δεν υπάρχει καλύτερος τρόπος για την οργάνωση και εξέλιξη των κοινωνιών. Είναι ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμοι στο να αποπροσανατολίζουν τις μάζες από τον πραγματικό εχθρό (την πλουτοκρατία) και να βρίσκουν αποδιοπομπαίους τράγους στις πιο ευάλωτες ομάδες (π.χ. μετανάστες). Είναι επίσης εξαιρετικά χρήσιμοι στο να διαιρούν το εκλογικό σώμα και να το οδηγούν μακριά από τους πολιτικούς που αποτελούν πραγματική απειλή για το κατεστημένο.

Τα ΜΜΕ θα δώσουν βήμα και θα προωθήσουν πλήρως πολιτικούς του κατεστημένου που παρουσιάζονται ως κάτι το καινούργιο και το καινοτόμο, όταν οι ψηφοφόροι χάσουν εντελώς την εμπιστοσύνη τους στις παραδοσιακές πολιτικές δυνάμεις ή πολιτικά πρόσωπα. Συχνά προωθούνται μέσω κάποιων επιφανειακών χαρακτηριστικών και συμβολισμών που δεν έχουν καμία απολύτως σχέση με την ουσία των πολιτικών που πρόκειται να εφαρμόσουν, έτσι ώστε να ξεγελαστούν οι ψηφοφόροι και να πειστούν πως πράγματι ψηφίζουν κάτι καινούργιο. Στην πραγματικότητα, η αποστολή των πολιτικών αυτού του τύπου, είναι να εξασφαλίσουν την κυριαρχία του κατεστημένου και να προχωρήσουν στην εφαρμογή όσων αυτό επιτάσσει.
