Από τον Τίσεν και τον Κρούπ στην ThyssenKrupp

Ο ομιλητής, με βαριά γερμανική προφορά, παρουσίαζε για ώρα τα επιχειρήματά του σχετικά με τη δυνατότητα της γερμανικής βιομηχανίας να κατατροπώσει τους αντιπάλους της στα πέρατα της οικουμένης. Από κάτω εκπρόσωποι βιομηχανικών κολοσσών όπως ο όμιλος Κρουπ έγνεφαν ικανοποιημένοι, καθώς ο ομιλητής τους έκανε μια πολύ δελεαστική πρόταση: αυτοί θα εξασφάλιζαν την αναρρίχηση και την παραμονή του στην εξουσία και αυτός θα χρησιμοποιούσε τη δύναμη του γερμανικού κράτους αλλά και της γερμανικού στρατού για να προωθήσει τα συμφέροντά τους. «Η μοίρα της Γερμανίας» επαναλάμβανε ο ομιλητής είναι να ηγηθεί της Ευρώπης και μέσω αυτής ολόκληρου του κόσμου».

Το πρόβλημα με τη συγκεκριμένη ομιλία είναι ότι έχει πραγματοποιηθεί δυο φορές σε διάστημα μικρότερο των εκατό χρόνων. Η πρώτη ήταν φυσικά στις 26 Ιανουαρίου του 1932, όταν ο Αδόλφος Χίτλερ προσκάλεσε βιομήχανους όπως ο Κρουπ και ο Τίσεν και τους έπεισε ότι ο ναζισμός ήταν η καλύτερη επιλογή που είχαν στη διάθεσή τους, όχι μόνο για να καθυποτάξουν τους Γερμανούς εργαζόμενους αλλά και για να ξανακερδίσουν τη θέση που κατείχαν στο παγκόσμιο οικονομικό στερέωμα πριν από τον πρώτο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο. Μέσα στο επιβλητικό κτίριο του συνδέσμου Γερμανών βιομηχάνων στο Ντίσελντορφ ο Χίτλερ υποσχόταν να ακυρώσει στην πράξη τη συνθήκη των Βερσαλλιών και απέρριπτε οριστικά τον πασιφισμό σαν γνώμονα στην χάραξη της εξωτερικής πολιτικής.

Η δεύτερη ομιλία πραγματοποιήθηκε στα τέλη Νοεμβρίου του 2014 από τον Γερμανό υπουργό Οικονομικών Φρανκ-Βάλτερ Σταϊνμάγερ, στο πλαίσιο του ετήσιου συνεδρίου που διοργανώνει η εφημερίδα Σιντόϊτσε Τσάιτουνγκ. Προφανώς κανένας δεν μιλούσε σε αυτή τη συνάντηση για την ανάγκη κατάργησης της δημοκρατίας, όπως συνέβαινε το 1932 αλλά ούτε υπήρχε κάποιος υποψήφιος δικτάτορας να προβάλλει τον ρατσιστικό του παροξυσμό. Όταν όμως η συζήτηση έφτασε στην ανάγκη επικράτησης της γερμανικής βιομηχανίας επί των αντιπάλων της ένας απόηχος από το 1932 έγινε αισθητός στην αίθουσα.

Αυτή τη φορά στο ακροατήριο δεν βρισκόταν ο Τίσεν και ο Κρούπ αλλά ο διευθύνων σύμβουλος της ThyssenKrupp, της πολυεθνικής που προέκυψε από τη συγχώνευση των δυο γερμανικών γιγάντων το 1999. Και αυτό που περίμενε να ακούσει, όπως και οι περίπου 300 παρευρισκόμενοι από τις μεγαλύτερες γερμανικές βιομηχανίες, ήταν το πώς η γερμανική εξωτερική πολιτική θα εξυπηρετούσε τα συμφέροντά τους.

«Υποθέτω δεν με καλέσατε επειδή δεν βρίσκατε κάποιον άλλο» ξεκίνησε την ομιλία του ο Σταϊνμάγερ «αλλά γιατί για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία του αυτό το συνέδριο είναι προσανατολισμένο όχι στην οικονομία αλλά στην εξωτερική πολιτική». Στα χέρια του κρατούσε μια έκθεση που έγραψε για το γερμανικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών ο καθηγητής πολιτικών επιστημών Κισμπόρ Μαχμπουμπάνι με τον χαρακτηριστικό τίτλο: «Η μοίρα της Γερμανίας: Να ηγηθεί της Ευρώπης και του Κόσμου» και υπότιτλο «Το Βερολίνο μπορεί να ηγηθεί της Ευρώπης– το Παρίσι και το Λονδίνο όχι». Κραδαίνοντας την έκθεση ο Σταϊνμάγερ φάνηκε να παρουσιάζει τη Γερμανία σαν ένα «έθνος ανάδελφο» το οποίο καλείται να επιβιώσει σε συνθήκες που θυμίζουν την περίοδο του μεσοπολέμου: «Στο δημόσιο διάλογο με τις ΗΠΑ κυριαρχούν οι διαφορές και όχι το κοινό έδαφος» επεσήμανε ο επικεφαλής της Γερμανικής διπλωματίας για να συμπληρώσει, σε άλλο σημείο της ομιλίας του ότι η Γερμανία πρέπει να εξευρωπαΐσει τη Ρωσία. Με τον «εξευρωπαϊσμό» βέβαια ο Γερμανός υπουργός Εξωτερικών φάνηκε να αναφέρεται περισσότερο στις κυρώσεις απέναντι στη Μόσχα τις οποίες παρουσίασε στους δυσαρεστημένους βιομήχανους σαν αναγκαίο κακό για την δική τους επιτυχία σε βάθος χρόνου. Επιλέγοντας προσεκτικά τις εκφράσεις του καθιστούσε σαφές ότι επιθυμεί μια Ρωσία υπάκουη στις εντολές του Βερολίνου όχι όμως και τόσο περιθωριοποιημένη ώστε να χάνει την αξία χρήσης της σαν ανάχωμα στην αμερικανική επιθετικότητα.

Ο Σταϊνμάγερ κατέστησε σαφές ότι η οικονομική ευημερία δεν θα επέλθει χωρίς την επιθετική παρέμβαση του γερμανικού κράτους σε διάφορα επίπεδα: «Περισσότερες BMW στους δρόμους της Μόσχας και μεγαλύτερα εργοστάσια της VW στην Κίνα δεν εξασφαλίζουν αναγκαστικά την πολιτική συναίνεση» είπε χαρακτηριστικά.

Το μήνυμα ήταν σαφές: η μεταπολεμική, παθητική στάση της Γερμανίας στη διεθνή σκακιέρα δεν μπορεί να συνεχιστεί εάν οι μεγάλες βιομηχανίες επιθυμούν να επεκτείνουν τις δραστηριότητές τους και να υπερισχύσουν των αντιπάλων τους. Το πρόβλημα βέβαια, όπως αναγνώρισε και ο ίδιος ο Σταϊνμάγερ είναι ότι ο Γερμανικός λαός δεν δείχνει σε καμία περίπτωση διατεθειμένος να εμπλακεί σε νέες περιπέτειες αυξάνοντας την διπλωματική και στρατιωτική εμπλοκή της χώρας στο εξωτερικό. Όπως εξήγησε ο ίδιος, πρόσφατη έρευνα του Ινστιτούτου Κόρμπερ αποδυκνύει ότι μόνο το 38% των Γερμανών ζητά μια πιο ενεργή εξωτερική πολιτική ενώ το 60% ζητά περιορισμό της. «Αυτό, κυρίες και κύριοι» είπε ο Σταϊνμάγερ είναι το κενό ανάμεσα στις προσδοκίες και τη διάθεση στο εσωτερικό. Αν ήμουν μηχανικός δεν θα τολμούσα να χτίσω μια γέφυρα για να καλύψω ένα τέτοιο χάσμα. Θα το εκτιμούσα όμως εάν οι γερμανικές επιχειρήσεις έβαζαν ένα χεράκι για να το πετύχουμε». Μήπως αυτό όμως δεν ζητούσε και υποσχόταν πριν από οχτώ δεκαετίες και ένας άλλος πολιτικός; Μια μικρή βοήθεια από τη μεγάλη βιομηχανία για να φέρει τις γερμανικές οικονομικές ελίτ, μέσω της ευρωπαϊκής «ενοποίησης», στην κορυφή του κόσμου.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that.
