Η Νορβηγία δίνει επανορθώσεις στους Ρομά για τα ναζιστικά δεινά

“Επανορθώσεις για τα δεινά που υπέστησαν στην περίοδο του ναζισμού θα καταβάλει η κυβέρνηση της Νορβηγίας στους Ρομά της χώρας. Την ιστορική απόφαση ανακοίνωσε η πρωθυπουργός της Νορβηγίας Ερνα Σόλμπεργκ δικαιώνοντας ένα αίτημα δεκαετιών και ζητώντας συγνώμη για τα όσα υπέφερε ο πληθυσμός των Ρομά πριν και μετά τον Δεύτερο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Η κοινότητα των Ρομά της Νορβηγίας αριθμεί περίπου 500 μέλη και έχει επιδοθεί σε μακρά εκστρατεία, από τη δεκαετία του 1990, ζητώντας αποζημιώσεις για τις βαραβαρότητες της ναζιστικής περιόδου.”

“Η απόφαση της Ερνα Σόλμπεργκ ήρθε μετά τη δημοσιοποίηση, τον Φεβρουάριο, έρευνας που διενήργησε το νορβηγικό κράτος και παρουσιάζει, με στοιχεία και τεκμήρια, πως η Νορβηγία στην δεκαετία του '30 αρνείτο άδεια εισόδου και επιστροφής σε όσους Ρομά πολίτες της ταξίδευαν στο εξωτερικό. Πολλοί από τους πολίτες αυτούς, μετά την άρνηση επαναπατρισμού, κατέληξαν σε στρατόπεδα συγκέντρωσης των Ναζί. Στην έρευνα καταγράφονται με τα πλήρη στοιχεία τους οι περιπτώσεις 62 περιπτώσεις ανθρώπων που έχασαν τη ζωή τους σε ναζιστικά στρατόπεδα συγκέντρωσης αμέσως μετά την άρνηση της Νορβηγίας τους να τους δεχθεί πίσω.Η Νορβηγία αρνείτο τον επαναπατρισμό ακόμη και στους επιζήσαντες Ρομά των στρατοπέδων συγκέντρωσης επί τουλάχιστον μια δεκαετία μετά το τέλος του πολέμου.”

“Στο πόρισμα επισημαίνεται ότι πρέπει να υπάρξει και περαιτέρω έρευνα για να αποκαλυφθούν σε όλη τους την έκταση τα όσα συνέβησαν στους Ρομά της Νορβηγίας στα χρόνια της γερμανικής κατοχής, από το 1940 έως το 1945.”
