Οι ΗΠΑ κλιμακώνουν τις προσπάθειες ανατροπής στη Βενεζουέλα

Συντονισμένες επιθέσεις, που παραπέμπουν σε περιόδους πριν από την εκδήλωση αμερικανικών πραξικοπημάτων και στρατιωτικών επεμβάσεων, πραγματοποιεί το τελευταίο διάστημα το πολιτικό και μιντιακό κατεστημένο των ΗΠΑ εναντίον της Βενεζουέλας.

Αξιωματούχοι του Λευκού Οίκου προειδοποιήσαν ανοιχτά για επέκταση του οικονομικού αποκλεισμού, ο οποίος ήδη προκαλεί ασφυξία στην οικονομία της Βενεζουέλας δυσχεραίνοντας ακόμη και την εισαγωγή βασικών τροφίμων και φαρμάκων.

Οι νέες απειλές κυρώσεων αφορούν τον πετρελαϊκό τομέα της Βενεζουέλας και φτάνουν μέχρι το ενδεχόμενο ολοκληρωτικής απαγόρευσης εισαγωγών στις ΗΠΑ. Παράλληλα εξετάζεται το ενδεχόμενο να απαγορευθεί η ασφάλιση των τάνκερ που μεταφέρουν πετρέλαιο από τη Βενεζουέλα, γεγονός που ισοδυναμεί με ολοκληρωτική απαγόρευση κυκλοφορίας τους.

Όπως αποκαλύπτει ο Αμερικανός οικονομολόγος και αναλυτής Μαρκ Βάισμπροτ, επικαλούμενος καλά πληροφορημένες πηγές στην Ουάσιγκτον, ο Λευκός Οίκος απειλεί πλέον με κυρώσεις ακόμη και στελέχη της αντιπολίτευσης, όπως ο Χένρι Φάλκον, προκειμένου να μη συμμετάσχουν στις προεδρικές εκλογές, νομιμοποιώντας έτσι τη διαδικασία. Γνωρίζοντας ότι η δεξιά αντιπολίτευση βρίσκεται σε καθεστώς διάλυσης η Ουάσιγκτον επιχειρεί με κάθε τρόπο να δυναμιτίσει τις επαφές της κυβέρνησης με την αντιπολίτευση και να διαβάλει το κύρος των εκλογών. Και αυτό παρά το γεγονός ότι σύμφωνα με εταιρείες δημοσκοπήσεων της αντιπολίτευσης το 77.6% των ερωτηθέντων δηλώνει ότι θα συμμετάσχει στη διαδικασία και μόνο το 12.3% δηλώνει ότι θα απέχει.

Εμπνευστής της νέας στρατηγικής των ΗΠΑ είναι ο γερουσιαστής της Φλόριντας Μάρκο Ρούμπιο, ο οποίος με μήνυμά του στο τουίτερ, κάλεσε ανοιχτά το στρατό της Βενεζουέλας να ανατρέψει τον δημοκρατικά εκλεγμένο πρόεδρο της χώρας. Λίγες εβδομάδες νωρίτερα ο ίδιος ο Τραμπ είχε αφήσει ανοιχτό ακόμη και το ενδεχόμενο στρατιωτικής εισβολής.

Την ίδια ώρα αμερικανικά ειδησεογραφικά πρακτορεία όπως το Ρόιτερς και το Ασοσιέιτεντ Πρες, αλλά και ανθρωπιστικές οργανώσεις που χρηματοδοτούνται από το Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ, παρουσιάζουν την Βενεζουέλα σαν εικόνα βγαλμένη από την κόλαση του Δάντη. Το Ρόιτερς σε μια πρωτοφανή διαστρέβλωση της πραγματικότητας, έφτασε στο σημείο να συγκρίνει την έξοδο μεταναστών, λόγω της οικονομικής κρίσης, με τις εικόνες χάους στα σύνορα της Μιανμάρ με το Μπαγκλαντές. Ενδεικτική της πολιτικής των αμερικανικών ΜΜΕ ήταν και η απαξιωτική στάση που κράτησαν απέναντι στον ανεξάρτητο παρατηρητή του ΟΗΕ, Άλφρεντ Ντε Ζάγιας, ο οποίος ύστερα από επιτόπια έρευνα στη Βενεζουέλα δήλωσε ότι η χώρα αντιμετωπίζει τρομακτικές δυσκολίες αλλά όχι ανθρωπιστική κρίση.

Η προσπάθεια να χαρακτηριστεί η Βενεζουέλα σαν χώρα σε κατάσταση ανθρωπιστικής κρίσης, ξεκινά απευθείας από την Ουάσιγκτον, η οποία ελπίζει έτσι να ενεργοποιήσει ρυθμίσεις του διεθνούς δικαίου, όπως η λεγόμενη «ευθύνη προστασίας», με την οποία «νομιμοποιείται» η εισβολή ξένων δυνάμεων με πρόσχημα την προστασία του πληθυσμού.
