Οδησσός: το χαρέμι του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ

Μερικές φορές το να μείνεις αποκλεισμένος σε ένα ξενοδοχείο για πέντε ώρες, περικυκλωμένος από παραστρατιωτικά τάγματα ναζιστών σε βοηθά να σκεφτείς. Αλλες φορές απλώς βλέπεις τηλεόραση.

Βρέθηκα σε αυτή την κατάσταση το πρωί της Τετάρτης, καθώς συνόδευα την αποστολή του Κώστα Ησυχου, της Νάντιας Βαλαβάνη και του Βασίλη Χατζηλάμπρου στην Οδησσό. Πρόθεσή τους ήταν να συναντηθούν με μέλη της ελληνικής κοινότητας στην Οδησσό.

Εξω από το ξενοδοχείο, όμως, είχαν συγκεντρωθεί ομάδες του Δεξιού Τομέα και της λεγόμενης Αυτοάμυνας της πλατείας Μαϊντάν, με ελαφρώς διαφορετική γνώμη.

Φώναζαν συνθήματα και κατά διαστήματα επιχειρούσαν να εισβάλουν στο ξενοδοχείο. Στον προθάλαμο, μέλη της ουκρανικής ασφάλειας άλλοτε εμπόδιζαν την είσοδο των παρακρατικών και άλλοτε συνομιλούσαν φιλικά μαζί τους.

Ηταν μια ενδεικτική απεικόνιση της άλλοτε τεταμένης και άλλοτε φιλικής συμπόρευσης κράτους και παρακράτους σε μια χώρα που μέσα σε σχεδόν δέκα χρόνια έζησε μια πολύχρωμη επανάσταση, ένα μεταμοντέρνο φιλοευρωπαϊκό πραξικόπημα και έναν εμφύλιο πόλεμο.

Υστερα από ώρες μιας τεταμένης αναμονής, το μάτι μου άρχισε να πέφτει και σε μια από τις τηλεοράσεις του ξενοδοχείου. Και όπως θα καταλάβαινα αργότερα, η εικόνα εκεί ήταν εξίσου ενδεικτική των πολιτικών εξελίξεων στην πολύπαθη Ουκρανία.

Στην οθόνη καλλίγραμμα μοντέλα παρουσίαζαν μια νέα συλλογή υψηλής ραπτικής. Σε αυτό το κανάλι, μας εξήγησαν αργότερα, ήταν κεντρική παρουσιάστρια η Aννα Πίντσεβα, κόρη ενός διαβόητου ιδιοκτήτη νυχτερινών κέντρων και διάσημο φωτομοντέλο, που εμφανιζόταν γυμνή σε ουκ ολίγα αντρικά περιοδικά.

Τις τελευταίες εβδομάδες, με απόφαση του νέου κυβερνήτη της Οδησσού και πρώην προέδρου της Γεωργίας, Μιχαήλ Σαακασβίλι, η Πίντσεβα τοποθετήθηκε εκπρόσωπος Τύπου της αστυνομίας της πόλης!

Ο διορισμός της ακούγεται τόσο εξωπραγματικός όσο και η επιλογή του Σαακασβίλι για τη θέση του κυβερνήτη.

Ενας πολιτικός που ανήλθε στην εξουσία ύστερα από την «επανάσταση των ρόδων» στη Γεωργία (με την ευγενική δηλαδή χορηγία του Τζορτζ Σόρος και αρκετών αμερικανικών υπηρεσιών), αφού έσπρωξε τη χώρα του σε πόλεμο με τη Ρωσία και βρέθηκε να καταζητείται για εγκλήματα διαφθοράς, κλήθηκε από τον πρόεδρο της Ουκρανίας να αναλάβει τη διακυβέρνηση της περιοχής της Οδησσού.

Μαζί με τον Σαακασβίλι έφτασαν στην περιοχή και ομάδες του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ που ανέλαβαν την εκπαίδευση των δυνάμεων ασφαλείας της Οδησσού – πάντα υπό το άγρυπνο βλέμμα της νεαρής Πίντσεβα.

Και αυτή ήταν μόνο η αρχή μιας σουρεαλιστικής ιστορίας στην οποία εμπλέκονται Αμερικανοί διπλωμάτες, φωτομοντέλα, ολιγάρχες και εμιγκρέδες από τη Μόσχα.

Το λεγόμενο «χαρέμι» του Σαακασβίλι επεκτάθηκε πολύ σύντομα με την εξίσου ευειδή Γιούλια Μαρούσεβσκα, την κοπέλα που έγινε παγκοσμίως γνωστή με ένα video στο Youtube με το οποίο ζητούσε την ανατροπή της κυβέρνησης Γιανουκόβιτς.

Ελάχιστοι (εκτός από εμάς) ασχολήθηκαν τότε με το γεγονός ότι πίσω από το «ερασιτεχνικό» video βρίσκονταν πρώην και νυν συνεργάτες της αμερικανικής κυβέρνησης, όπως ο Μπεν Μόουζες (δημιουργός μεταξύ άλλων και της ταινίας «Καλημέρα Βιετνάμ») και ο Λάρι Ντάιμοντ.

Και η 25χρονη Γιούλια ανταμείφθηκε και με το παραπάνω στην προπαγανδιστική μάχη για την ανατροπή της κυβέρνησης Γιανουκόβιτς. Ο Σαακασβίλι δημιούργησε ένα νέο επενδυτικό ταμείο για την Οδησσό και την τοποθέτησε επικεφαλής.

Σύντομα το «χαρέμι» ολοκληρώθηκε με την 33χρονη, Μαρία Γκαϊντάρ, κόρη του πρώην πρωθυπουργού της Ρωσίας Γεγκόρ Γκαϊντάρ, ο οποίος έμεινε στην ιστορία για την εφαρμογή της «θεραπείας σοκ» και το μαζικό ξεπούλημα της δημόσιας περιουσίας της πρώην Σοβιετικής Ενωσης.

Αφού έριξε το ΑΕΠ της χώρας του κατά τουλάχιστον 40% και μείωσε το προσδόκιμο επιβίωσης στα 58 χρόνια ο Γκαϊντάρ παρέδωσε ευτυχισμένος την πραγματική εξουσία στους νέους ολιγάρχες.

Η κόρη του έγινε γνωστή στις ρωσικές προεδρικές εκλογές του 2008 όταν άρχισε να φτιάχνει video στα οποία παρουσίαζε τον Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν σαν το νέο αντίχριστο που θα οδηγήσει την ανθρωπότητα σε πυρηνικό ολοκαύτωμα.

Ο Σαακασβίλι φυσικά δεν είχε καμία αμφιβολία ότι ένας τέτοιος άνθρωπος θα έπρεπε να αναλάβει αναπληρωτής κυβερνήτης της Οδησσού και της έδωσε με χαρά το χρίσμα.

Μπροστά σε αυτό το αμερικανοτραφές τσίρκο, που παρήλαυνε στην τηλεόραση του ξενοδοχείου, τα ναζιστικά τάγματα εφόδου που μας περίμεναν απέξω είχαν αρχίσει να αποπνέουν μια φρικτή… κανονικότητα.

Ουσιαστικά ήταν οι δύο όψεις του ίδιου νομίσματος σε μια χώρα που βρέθηκε στις συμπληγάδες υπερδυνάμεων και είδε το ανατολικό της τμήμα να ανεξαρτητοποιείται και το δυτικό να μετατρέπεται σε ένα ιδιότυπο προτεκτοράτο των ΗΠΑ και του ΔΝΤ.

«Πώς σου φαίνεται ότι τοποθέτησαν κυβερνήτη της περιοχής σου έναν ξένο υπήκοο σαν τον Σαακασβίλι;» ρώτησα τον Κομαντάντε Στάμπο, έναν από τους επικεφαλής των παραστρατιωτικών ομάδων που δέχθηκε να μου μιλήσει.

«Θετικό», ήταν η μονολεκτική του απάντηση.

«Θα ήθελες να τον δεις και πρωθυπουργό, όπως προβλέπουν ορισμένες εφημερίδες;» τον ξαναρώτησα.

Αυτός ίσιωσε τον γιακά από τη στολή παραλλαγής που φορούσε, με κοίταξε στα μάτια και ύστερα από λίγα δευτερόλεπτα απάντησε: «Οχι, καλύτερα να τον έχουμε εδώ κοντά μας».

Για τον Κομαντάντε Στάμπο, μια ελληνική αποστολή που ήρθε να γνωρίσει την ομογένεια της Οδησσού, συνιστά απειλή για την εθνική ενότητα της χώρας του.

Αντίθετα, ένας καταζητούμενος Γεωργιανός, πρώην πρόεδρος είναι πάντα καλοδεχούμενος. Ειδικά αν συνοδεύεται από μερικούς διπλωμάτες του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ και ένα χαρέμι καλλίγραμμων συνεργάτιδων.
