Η πρόσφατη απειλή κατά του Πούτιν, που περιλαμβάνει σχέδια για "απελευθέρωση" - όπως λένε οι Τζιχαντιστές - της Τσετσενίας και του Καυκάσου, συνέπεσε, ίσως όχι συμπτωματικά, με την συμφωνία (ή απόπειρα συμφωνίας) εκεχειρίας μεταξύ Κιέβου και Μόσχας. Κανονικά, οι νεοσυντηρητικοί "κλόουν" της Ουάσιγκτον θα ήταν ιδιαίτερα ευχαριστημένοι με τέτοιες απειλές, αλλά ο αποκεφαλισμός του δεύτερου Αμερικανού δημοσιογράφου, Στίβεν Σότλοφ, δεν τους αφήνει πολλά περιθώρια και είναι υποχρεωμένοι να αντιμετωπίσουν το ISIS και την Αμερικανική κοινή γνώμη.

Όλα δείχνουν ότι είναι πολύ πιθανόν να έχουν ενεργοποιηθεί κάποιοι "υπόγειοι δίαυλοι επικοινωνίας" μεταξύ του ΝΑΤΟ και της Ρωσίας, μετά από πολύ καιρό, ώστε να γίνει μια προσπάθεια για - έστω και προσωρινή - εκεχειρία στην Ουκρανία. Οι νεοσυντηρητικοί της Ουάσιγκτον απέτυχαν για άλλη μια φορά. Μετά το χάος που επέφεραν στο Ιράκ, είχαν αυτή τη "φαεινή ιδέα" να υποστηρίξουν όλες αυτές τις ένοπλες ομάδες για να αποκαθηλώσουν το, προσκείμενο στη Ρωσία, καθεστώς Άσαντ στη Συρία και ενδεχομένως, να αποσταθεροποιήσουν ταυτόχρονα και το Ιράν. Τώρα, κλείνουν μέτωπα και καλούν τους πάντες στη μάχη για την αντιμετώπιση του ISIS.

Είναι χαρακτηριστικό ότι οι σχέσεις ΗΠΑ-Ισραήλ δεν βρίσκονται στο καλύτερο σημείο τους και αυτό οφείλεται όχι μόνο στην πολιτική που ακολουθεί το Ισραήλ όσον αφορά τη Γάζα, αλλά και επειδή οι ΗΠΑ προσπαθούν τελευταία να εξομαλύνουν τις σχέσεις τους με το Ιράν. Ένας λόγος για τον οποίο συμβαίνει αυτό, είναι πιθανόν επειδή η Ουάσιγκτον θεωρεί τον Ιρανικό στρατό αρκετά οργανωμένο και αξιόμαχο, ακριβώς επειδή δεν έχει εμπλακεί για πολλά χρόνια σε πολέμους φθοράς, πράγμα που σημαίνει ότι η συνεισφορά του στη μάχη κατά των τζιχαντιστών μπορεί να αποβεί καθοριστική.

Φαίνεται ότι ήρθε η ώρα ο Πούτιν να αναλάβει δράση με την ανοχή της Δύσης, εξαιτίας του χάους που επέφερε κυρίως η Αμερικανική παρέμβαση στη Μέση Ανατολή. Φαίνεται ότι το τέρας του ISIS που εξαπέλυσε ο Αμερικανικός Ιμπεριαλισμός είναι εκτός ελέγχου και η Δύση είναι έτοιμη να δεχθεί οποιαδήποτε συνδρομή για να το εξοντώσει, ακόμα και από τους αντιπάλους της στην παγκόσμια γεωπολιτική σκακιέρα, όπως η Ρωσία, το Ιράν και η Κίνα.
