Άσαντ: “Η Δύση ευθύνεται για τη γέννηση του ISIS”

Σε συνέντευξή του στο ιταλικό εθνικό τηλεοπτικό δίκτυο Rai ο πρόεδρος της Συρίας δήλωσε ότι η χώρα του, που έχει καταστραφεί από τον πόλεμο, δεν είναι «λίπασμα»για την τζιχαντιστική οργάνωση και κατηγόρησε τις χώρες της Δύσης ότι ευθύνονται για τη γέννησή της.

«Μπορώ να σας πω ότι το Ισλαμικό Κράτος δεν έχει φυσικό εκκολαπτήριο, κοινωνικό εκκολαπτήριο στο εσωτερικό της Συρίας», τόνισε ο Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ και επέμεινε στο γεγονός ότι τζιχαντιστές που έχουν εκπαιδευτεί στη Συρία για να πραγματοποιούν επιθέσεις στο Παρίσι και αλλού, μπορούν να δρουν με τον τρόπο αυτό χάρη στην «υποστήριξη των Τούρκων, των Σαουδάραβων και πολιτών του Κατάρ, και φυσικά χάρη στην πολιτική της Δύσης που έχει υποστηρίξει τους τρομοκράτες ποικιλοτρόπως».

Το ISIS «δεν ξεκίνησε από τη Συρία, Ξεκίνησε στο Ιράκ και πρωτύτερα από το Αφγανιστάν», πρόσθεσε και χρησιμοποίησε μια φράση του πρώην πρωθυπουργού της Βρετανίας Τόνι Μπλερ ότι «ο πόλεμος στο Ιράκ συνέβαλε στη δημιουργία του ISIS». «Η παραδοχή του αυτή είναι η πιο σημαντική απόδειξη», σημείωσε.

Οι επιθέσεις στο Παρίσι, την ευθύνη για τις οποίες ανέλαβε το Ισλαμικό Κράτος και οι οποίες προκάλεσαν τον θάνατο 129 ανθρώπων την περασμένη Παρακευή, ήταν αιτία να επιταχυνθούν οι διαβουλεύσεις για την εξεύρεση μιας λύσης προκειμένου να τερματιστεί ο πόλεμος στη Συρία, οι οποίες όμως εξακολουθούν να προσκρούουν στην τύχη του Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ.

Από το 2011, ο πόλεμος έχει προκαλέσει τον θάνατο τουλάχιστον 250.000 ανθρώπων, ενώ εκατομμύρια είναι οι πρόσφυγες και οι εκτοπισμένοι. Ολόκληρα τμήματα του συριακού εδάφους τελούν υπό τον έλεγχο του ISIS και άλλων ενόπλων οργανώσεων.

Ο Άσαντ δήλωσε στη συνέντευξη ότι δεν μπορεί να υπάρχει χρονοδιάγραμμα μετάβασης που να προβλέπει εκλογές στη Συρία όσο περιοχές της χώρας ελέγχονται από τους αντάρτες.

«Το χρονοδιάγραμμα θα μπορεί να τεθεί σε εφαρμογή μόλις θα έχουμε αρχίσει να νικάμε την τρομοκρατία. Δεν μπορείτε να αποσπάσετε τίποτε πολιτικά όσο έχετε τρομοκράτες που καταλαμβάνουν πολλές περιοχές στη Συρία», είπε και εκτίμησε ότι μόλις διευθετηθεί η κατάσταση, θα χρειαστούν «ενάμισι έως δύο χρόνια για μια μετάβαση».

Η βούληση του Άσαντ να παραμείνει στην εξουσία έχει επιδεινώσει τις σχέσεις μεταξύ των ΗΠΑ - Γαλλίας, που υποστηρίζουν την εξέγερση στη χώρα, και της Ρωσίας, που είναι ένας από τους ισχυρότερους συμμάχους της Δαμασκού.

Ωστόσο μετά τις επιθέσεις στο Παρίσι και τη βομβιστική επίθεση εναντίον ρωσικού επιβατικού αεροσκάφους στο αιγυπτιακό Σινά οι χώρες αυτές δείχνουν όλο και περισσότερο διατεθειμένες να ενώσουν τις δυνάμεις τους εναντίον των τζιχαντιστών.
