Bernie Sanders said as a response to President Donald Trump's 2018
State of the Union address in the following video is true, except two
things:
First,
the fact that Trump's awful policies is just an aggressive
continuation of the 'business as usual' neoliberal policies with
their roots to the disastrous legacy of Reagan administration. Bernie
didn't dare to mention that these policies were adopted by every
Democrat in presidency, like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Second,
the fact that Bernie uncritically adopted the bogus Russiagate story
which has been used by the corporate DNC establishment and the
neoliberal media to smear nearly every progressive who didn't obey to
their desire to support the corrupted, warmongering puppet of the
plutocracy called Hillary Clinton. Which is actually a new version of
McCarthyism.
Bernie's
statement on that matter could be easily considered totally
unacceptable:
How
can a president not talk about the reality that Russia, through
cyberwarfare interfered in our election in 2016, is interfering in
democratic elections all over the world (!!!), and according to his
own CIA director will likely interfere in the 2018 midterm elections
that we will be holding. How do you not talk about that, unless
perhaps, you have a very special relationship with Mr. Putin.
We
should remind Bernie that there is no evidence about any kind of
Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. Someone,
at last, should explicitly explain what exactly is that 'cyberwarfare
interference'. No one can because no one has an idea what that means,
how exactly Russia affected the result of the US election. On the
contrary, we should remind Bernie that there is undeniable proof,
through WikiLeaks, that the DNC establishment rigged the Democratic
primaries against him and in favor of his rival, Hillary Clinton.
Also,
the statement that 'Russia is interfering in democratic elections all
over the world', apart from the lack of evidence again, could only be
considered a joke. We know very well that the US empire is a champion
by far in such businesses by rigging elections, imposing
dictatorships, staging 'color revolutions', conducting proxy wars, or
even, militarily invading foreign countries, for decades.
We
understand that Bernie probably wants to calm the DNC establishment
by adopting its false narratives, in order to have a chance to run
for the 2020 presidency under the Democratic umbrella, but we have to
warn him that this is a very long shot.
We
should expect that the DNC establishment will block his way again, in
any case, because its wealthy donors are not happy with Bernie's
ideas about free healthcare and education, decent wages and jobs for
the US working class, etc.
By
following the Russiagate-type narratives, even as part of a certain
strategy, Bernie has nothing to gain. Instead, he may lose many
progressive voters who may feel that he aligns himself with the DNC
establishment and the corporate media under neo-McCarthyism.
So, our
message to Bernie Sanders is this:
Dear
Bernie, do not fall into the trap of neo-McCarthyism! Do not waste
any more time and momentum inside the Democratic party! Start a third
political party and crush the bipartisan dictatorship! This is the
only way to reach a successful completion of the political
revolution!
