Όταν οι ευρωβουλευτές της ΝΔ προσπαθούσαν να μπλοκάρουν την προστασία των whistleblowers… λίγο πριν σκάσει η «βόμβα» Novartis

Λες και ήξεραν τι «βόμβα» είχαν στα χέρια τους, που ήταν έτοιμη να σκάσει, θα μπορούσε να σκεφτεί κανείς…

Την ώρα που το Novartis – Gate βρίσκεται κι επισήμως στη Βουλή, ο πανικός σε ΝΔ και ΠΑΣΟΚ είναι τόσο διάχυτος, που μεταφράζεται με απειλές… πολιτικές αλλά και κατά των προστατευόμενων μαρτύρων, που με τη συμβολή τους ξετύλιξαν το κουβάρι του σκανδάλου, που κάνει τη Siemens να ωχριά μπροστά του.

Σαμαράς, Γεωργιάδης κι Αβραμόπουλος πετούν κορώνες για «ανώνυμους και πληρωμένους κουκουλοφόρους» και καταθέτουν μηνύσεις μέχρι και κατά του Αλέξη Τσίπρα. Ο «γαλάζιος» Μάριος Σαλμάς μάλιστα απειλεί ότι οι whistleblowers για το σκάνδαλο Novartis θα βρεθούν και θα τιμωρηθούν, σημειώνοντας κυνικά ότι «είναι μικρή η Ελλάδα». Συνήγορος όλων των παραπάνω ο Βασίλης Οικονόμου που είναι έτοιμος «να σπάσει χέρια» σε όποιον του πειράξει το κόμμα του. Σε ακραίους τόνους και οι εμπλεκόμενοι του ΠΑΣΟΚ. Να αρθεί το καθεστώς προστασίας των μαρτύρων της Novartis ζητά ο Βενιζέλος και υπονοεί ότι θα τους βρει, προειδοποιώντας ότι δεν θα μείνουν για πάντα στη σκιά. Μήνυση εναντίον τους, όποιοι και να είναι, καταθέτει ο Λοβέρδος.

Όμως το μένος κατά των whistleblowers, δεν προέκυψε χθες. Η ΝΔ μέσω των ευρωβουλευτών της είχε κάνει ότι μπορούσε να περάσει από το χέρι της εδώ και καιρό για να βάλει εμπόδια στην προστασία των μαρτύρων δημοσίου συμφέροντος, φτάνοντας μάλιστα στο σημείο να υπονομεύει – υπό τη σκέπη του ΕΛΚ - τα ψηφίσματα του Ευρωκοινοβούλιο για την προστασία τους.

Λες και ήξεραν τι βόμβα είχαν στα χέρια τους, που ήταν έτοιμη να σκάσει, θα μπορούσε να σκεφτεί κανείς… Και μάλιστα όταν το νομικό πλαίσιο των προστατευόμενων μαρτύρων, θεσπίστηκε από την κυβέρνησή της ΝΔ. Αλλά, δύο μέτρα και δύο σταθμά όταν πρόκειται για σκάνδαλα στα οποία εμπλέκεται η ίδια η ΝΔ!

Στρίβειν δια των... τροπολογιών

Η ιστορία ξεκινά από τον περασμένο Οκτώβριο, όταν στην Εξεταστική Επιτροπή του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου για τα Ρanama Papers ψηφίζεται έκθεση που ορίζει την προστασία των καταγγελτών που δρουν προς όφελος του δημοσίου συμφέροντος, η οποία υπογραμμίζει την καταλυτική σημασία των μαρτύρων δημοσίου συμφέροντος στην αποκάλυψη σοβαρών παρανομιών και σκανδάλων, ανεξάρτητα από τα προσωπικά κίνητρα που τους ωθούν στην καταγγελία.

Η έκθεση καταψηφίστηκε από το ΕΛΚ, με τους ευρωβουλευτές της ΝΔ να απέχουν, αφού όμως πρώτα είχαν προσπαθήσει να βάλουν όσα εμπόδια μπορούσαν στην υιοθέτηση της. Πιο συγκεκριμένα το ΕΛΚ είχε καταθέσει 3 τροπολογίες, που επιχειρούσαν να αλλοιώσουν το αρχικό κείμενο, ζητώντας να προστατεύονται οι εταιρείες έναντι των προστατευόμενων μαρτύρων αλλά και προσπαθώντας να αποτρέψουν τη διευκόλυνση για καταγγελία απευθείας στον Τύπο, προφανώς για να μη λαμβάνουν δημόσια έκταση τα σκάνδαλα που ολοένα και πιο συχνά αποκαλύπτονται.

Σημειώνεται ότι οι 3 τροπολογίες οι οποίες συνυπογράφονταν από τους ευρωβουλευτές της ΝΔ, Ελ. Βόζενμπεργκ και Θ. Ζαγοράκη, είχαν υπερψηφιστεί από όλους τους ευρωβουλευτές της ΝΔ, μηδενά εξαιρουμένου… παρόλο που εκ των υστέρων η εκπρόσωπος Τύπου της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης, Μαρία Σπυράκη, προσπαθούσε να θολώσει τα νερά, δηλώνοντας ότι εκείνη τους «παρότρυνε» να υπερψηφίσουν τη συγκεκριμένη έκθεση.

Και η ιστορία δεν σταμάτησε εκεί, αφού το επίμαχο ψήφισμα έφτασε τελικά στην Ολομέλεια της Ευρωβουλής δύο μήνες αργότερα, τον Δεκέμβριο, όπου στην ψηφοφορία για τα μέτρα κατά των φορολογικών παραδείσων και υπέρ των whistleblowers οι ευρωβουλευτές της ΝΔ (με τους οποίους σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις συντάχθηκε και η κυρία Καϊλή από την Δημοκρατική Συμπαράταξη) καταψήφισαν ή απείχαν από την ψηφοφορία σε ότι δεν τους άρεσε…

«Οι ευρωβουλευτές του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, υπερασπιζόμενοι τις πάγιες αρχές της διαφάνειας και του κοινωνικού ελέγχου, υποστηρίξαμε το σύνολο αυτών των ριζοσπαστικών και απαραίτητων τροπολογιών. Η Νέα Δημοκρατία ποια συμφέροντα υπερασπίστηκε τελικά;», δήλωσαν τότε οι Δημήτρης Παπαδημούλης, Κωνσταντίνα Κούνεβα και Στέλιος Κούλογλου, καταγγέλοντας ότι «η ΝΔ στάθηκε με νύχια και με δόντια υπέρ των φορολογικών παραδείσων και κατά των whistleblowers».

Για το θέμα της Novartis και την προστασία των μαρτύρων της είχε καταθέσει μάλιστα ερώτηση προς την Κομισιόν κι ο ευρωβουλευτής του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ Στέλιος Κούλογλου, με την οποία την καλούσε να διευκρινίσει με ποιο τρόπο σκοπεύει να προστατεύσει τους whistleblowers καθώς και άλλους επίδοξους πολίτες οι οποίοι φανερώνουν καταχρηστικές και παράνομες πρακτικές εταιριών σε επίπεδο ΕΕ.
