Φανατικοί Τοκογλύφοι

Μου ζητήσατε να μιλήσω για τον νεοφιλελεύθερο φανατισμό στην Ελλάδα, ωστόσο αυτό τον φανατισμό πρέπει να τον κατανοήσουμε και να τον δούμε στις πραγματικές τους διαστάσεις. Γιατί ο νεοφιλελευθερισμός στην Ελλάδα, όπως επιβλήθηκε από το ξέσπασμα της κρίσης το 2010 μέχρι σήμερα, αποτελεί ένα μείγμα ιδεολογικού φανατισμού και ωμού κυνισμού *

Ανάμεσα σε αυτού που έχουν επιβάλει τα προγράμματα λιτότητας υπάρχουν ασφαλώς και φανατικοί. Ακόμα και αυτή τη στιγμή που μιλάμε και οι διαπραγματεύσεις συνεχίζονται, επιμένουν σ’ ένα πρόγραμμα, το οποίο έχει αποτύχει εντελώς.

Η διάσωση της Ελλάδας, την οποία επικαλούνται ενώ στην πραγματικότητα επρόκειτο για τη διάσωση των γαλλικών και γερμανικών τραπεζών, έχει αποτύχει πλήρως. Το ΑΕΠ της χώρας έχει μειωθεί κατά 25% κατά τα τελευταία 5 χρόνια, πρωτοφανές αρνητικό ρεκόρ εν καιρώ ειρήνης. Επιπλέον, η ανεργία έχει ξεπεράσει το 25%, με ένα ποσοστό 60% για τους νέους. Αυτό που είναι αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι λόγος για τον οποίο ξεκίνησε όλη αυτή η τραγωδία, ήταν ότι το χρέος ήταν πολύ ανεβασμένο σε σχέση με το ΑΕΠ. Εκείνη την περίοδο, το χρέος ήταν στο 120% του ΑΕΠ, ενώ σήμερα έχει ξεπεράσει το 175%. Αλλά αυτοί επιμένουν να συνεχίσουμε την ίδια πολιτική.

Υπάρχουν πολλά παραδείγματα ιδεολογικού φανατισμού. Δίνω συχνά το εξής χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα για το τι συμβαίνει στην Ελλάδα: την κατάργηση της δημοτικής αστυνομίας. Από την αρχή της εφαρμογής των μνημονίων η τρόικα ζητούσε τα κεφάλια δημοσίων υπαλλήλων. Κάθε μήνα χίλια κεφάλια. Μέσα σε ένα χρόνο δώδεκα χιλιάδες. Πώς μπορεί όμως μια κυβέρνηση να βρει μέσα σε μερικούς μήνες είκοσι χιλιάδες δημοσίους υπαλλήλους για να τους απολύσει; Με τι κριτήρια και διαδικασίες αξιολόγησης; Οπότε αυτό που έκαναν είναι να βρίσκουν μαζεμένους δημόσιους υπαλλήλους και να τους απολύουν όλους μαζί.

Με αυτό τον τρόπο έκλεισε και η δημόσια τηλεόραση μέσα σε μια νύχτα. Βρήκαν μαζεμένους 2500 υπαλλήλους και τους απέλυσαν από τη μια στιγμή στην άλλη. Κάποια στιγμή, όπως δεν έβρισκαν κεφάλια να πάρουν, αποφάσισαν να καταργήσουν τη δημοτική αστυνομία. Όμως η δημοτική αστυνομία εκτός του ότι ήταν απαραίτητη για τη ρύθμιση της κυκλοφορίας, ήταν και μια υπηρεσία που απέφερε κέρδος με τα πρόστιμα για τα παράνομα παρκαρισμένα αυτοκίνητα. Αυτοί, όμως, επέμεναν στη διάλυση της κι έτσι και λιγότερα κέρδη υπάρχουν και μεγαλύτερο χάος στο παρκάρισμα.

Ένα ακόμη παράδειγμα. Υπάρχουν πολλοί πολίτες που χρωστάνε φόρους ή στο ταμείο ασφάλισής τους. Όχι γιατί δεν θέλουν, αλλά γιατί δεν έχουν χρήματα. Η προηγούμενη κυβέρνηση ψήφισε ένα νόμο, σύμφωνα με τον οποίο μπορούσαν να πληρώσουν το οφειλόμενο ποσό σε 100 δόσεις. Η τρόικα πήρε αμέσως τηλέφωνο και είπε όχι! Απαίτησε από την κυβέρνηση να αλλάξει το νόμο. Και ο νόμος άλλαξε μέσα σε τρεις μέρες.

Ένα από τα πρώτα σημεία διαφωνίας ανάμεσα στη κυβέρνηση ΣΥΡΙΖΑ και τους θεσμούς, όπως αποκαλείται πλέον η τρόικα, ήταν και αυτό: η νέα κυβέρνηση ανακοίνωσε ότι αυτός ο νόμος θα τεθεί εκ νέου σε ισχύ και πράγματι έχει επιφέρει εντυπωσιακά οικονομικά αποτελέσματα σε πολύ σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα. Γιατί οι πολίτες ήθελαν να πληρώσουν, για να μπορούν να συνεχίσουν τη νόμιμη επιχειρηματική λειτουργία τους αλλά δεν είχαν τα χρήματα. Όμως δεν έχουμε να κάνουμε με φανατισμένους όπως οι Κόκκινοι Χμέρ, που κυνήγησαν τον κόσμο από τις πόλεις για να εγκαταστήσουν έναν παράδεισο επί της γης στην ύπαιθρο.

Υπάρχουν και άλλοι λόγοι λιγότερο ιδεαλιστικοί και περισσότερο «πρακτικοί» που εξηγούν τη συμπεριφορά τους. Πρώτα απ όλα, σε αυτά τα πέντε χρόνια κρίσης ένα πολύ μικρό ποσοστό του πληθυσμού έχει γίνει πλουσιότερο. Είναι αυτό ελέγχει τα ΜΜΕ, τα μέσα παραγωγής και τις τράπεζες.

Χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα οι ιδιωτικοποιήσεις, τις οποίες αναγκάστηκε να κάνει η προηγούμενη κυβέρνηση σε εξευτελιστικές τιμές πώλησης. Στην ατελείωτη λίστα με σκανδαλώδεις πωλήσεις ξεχωρίζει η πώληση το 2013, από το ελληνικό κράτος, 28 κτιρίων, τα οποία εξακολουθεί να χρησιμοποιεί και τώρα τα νοικιάζει. Τα επόμενα είκοσι χρόνια η Αθήνα είναι υποχρεωμένη να πληρώσει 600 εκατ. ευρώ για το ενοίκιο, δηλαδή τρεις φορές το ποσό που κέρδισε, με την πώληση (και το οποίο επέστρεψε άμεσα στους δανειστές).

Μικρή λεπτομέρεια: τα κτίρια αυτά αγοράστηκαν από τις θυγατρικές δύο ελληνικών τραπεζών, των οποίων δύο άλλες θυγατρικές συνεργάζονται ως σύμβουλοι στο ΤΑΙΠΕΔ, τον ελληνικό οργανισμό ιδιωτικοποιήσεων.

Επωφελούνται βέβαια και ορισμένες χώρες, εκτός από κάποιες επιχειρήσεις. Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή ή, για να το πω αλλιώς, το Βερολίνο, απαιτεί τη συνέχιση των ιδιωτικοποιήσεων που εξυπηρετούν συμφέροντα γερμανικών επιχειρήσεων, όπως συμβαίνει με τις ιδιωτικοποιήσεις στα αεροδρόμια. Συγχρόνως, η Γερμανία του κ. Σόιμπλε, που είναι ιδιαίτερα αυστηρός με την τήρηση των κανόνων και των δεσμεύσεων, έχει βγει κατά πολύ κερδισμένη από την ελληνική κρίση.

Κι ενώ το δάνειο παρουσιάζεται στη γερμανική και διεθνή κοινή γνώμη σαν μια δωρεάν βοήθεια στους τεμπέληδες Έλληνες, στην πραγματικότητα πρόκειται για ένα δάνειο με τόκους μέσω των οποίων η γερμανική κυβέρνηση –όχι ο γερμανικός λαός- έχει κερδίσει εκατοντάδες εκατομμύρια ευρώ. Η Γερμανία έχει γενικότερο όφελος όσο η κρίση της ευρωζώνης, είναι ελεγχόμενη, τόσο αυξάνοντας τις εξαγωγές της που ευνοούνται από τις χαμηλές ισοτιμίες του ευρώ όσο απολαμβάνοντας επιτόκια δανεισμού, τα οποία παραμένουν μηδενικά ή αρνητικά πολλές φορές.

Δεν είναι λοιπόν αθώοι βάρβαροι, όπως οι Κόκκινοι Χμέρ. Δεν είναι μόνο ιδεολογικοί οι λόγοι, για τους οποίους συμπεριφέρονται με τέτοιο τρόπο, αλλά και γιατί κερδίζουν χρήματα απ’ όλη αυτή την κατάσταση. Πρόκειται για ένα πολύ επικίνδυνο μείγμα: είναι φανατικοί τοκογλύφοι. Ο Θεός να βοηθάει το λαό που θα πέσει στα χέρια τους.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique.
