1000 Βitcoin ATMs έρχονται στην Ελλάδα; (!)

Σύμφωνα με την ιστοσελίδα cointelegraph.com, η Cubits, εταιρία ανταλλαγής και παροχής υπηρεσιών του ηλεκτρονικού νομίσματος Bitcoin, πρόκειται να συνεργαστεί με την BTCGreece για την εγκατάσταση 1000 Bitcoin ΑΤΜs και να βοηθήσουν μικρές και μεσαίες επιχειρήσεις στην διακίνηση χρημάτων.

Όπως δήλωσε ο ιδρυτής της BTCGreece, Θάνος Μαρίνος: "Φτιάχνουμε ένα οικοσύστημα από Bitcoin και μια σειρά λύσεων στην Ελληνική αγορά. Αυτό θα περιλαμβάνει την ανάπτυξη 1000 ΑΤΜs και λύσεις για το ηλεκτρονικό εμπόριο και την τουριστική βιομηχανία και θα προσφέρει στους Έλληνες λύσεις που θα μετριάζουν τις δυσκολίες των capital controls."

Σήμερα, πολλές Ελληνικές επιχειρήσεις δεν μπορούν να πληρώσουν τους προμηθευτές και τους συνεργάτες στο εξωτερικό λόγω των μεγάλων οικονομικών προβλημάτων και των capital controls, που έχουν παγώσει τους τραπεζικούς λογαριασμούς, τις πιστωτικές και χρεωστικές κάρτες.

Οι δύο εταιρίες σκοπεύουν να δημιουργήσουν ένα διασυνοριακό σύστημα πληρωμών που θα επιτρέπει στις μικρές και μεσαίες επιχειρήσεις να στέλνουν τις πληρωμές τους γρήγορα και με χαμηλό κόστος.

Όπως δήλωσε ο Μαρίνος, η Btcgreece και η Cubits προσφέρουν μια λύση στις μικρές και μεσαίες επιχειρήσεις προκειμένου να διατηρήσουν τις λειτουργίες τους, να πληρώνουν τις επιταγές τους εκτός της Ελλάδας, χωρίς τους περιορισμούς των capital controls.

Είπε επίσης ότι η χρήση του Bitcoin στην Ελλάδα αυξάνεται ραγδαία. Ιδιώτες και επιχειρήσεις αρχίζουν να κατανοούν τα πλεονεκτήματα του Bitcoin και την αποκεντρωμένη φύση του: “Η υιοθέτηση του Bitcoin συμβαίνει, και με πολύ γρήγορο ρυθμό. Το Bitcoin στην Ελλάδα δεν είναι απλά μια διαφημιστική προώθηση, αλλά μια λύση στα καθημερινά προβλήματα των ανθρώπων και των επιχειρήσεων που δημιουργούνται από τα capital controls. Ένας επίσης βασικός παράγοντας, είναι ότι η εμπιστοσύνη στο παραδοσιακό τραπεζικό σύστημα έχει χαθεί προ πολλού και οι άνθρωποι είναι ανοιχτοί στο Bitcoin.”

Λίγα λόγια για το Bitcoin:

Με απλά λόγια, το Bitcoin είναι ένα εντελώς ψηφιακό νόμισμα. Δεν υπάρχει επισήμως σε καμία φυσική μορφή, κερμάτων ή χαρτονομισμάτων. Δεν παράγεται από καμία συγκεκριμένη χώρα. Δεν ελέγχεται από καμία συγκεκριμένη τράπεζα. Η παραγωγή του, η αποθήκευσή του, και η διακίνησή του, και όλες οι συναλλαγές με αυτό γίνονται αποκλειστικά σε ηλεκτρονική μορφή.

Για να είμαστε πιο ακριβείς και επιστημονικοί, το Bitcoin είναι ένα peer-to-peer σύστημα πληρωμών και ένα ψηφιακό συνάλλαγμα ανοιχτού κώδικα. Ουσιαστικά ανήκει στην κατηγορία cryptocurrency, καθώς χρησιμοποιεί μεθόδους κρυπτογραφίας για τη δημιουργία και διαχείριση των χρημάτων, και για την επιβεβαίωση της εγκυρότητας των συναλλαγών.

Η ιδέα ενός distributed crypto-currency προτάθηκε εν μέρει το 1998 από τον Wei Dai, στη mailing list της ομάδας ακτιβιστών Cypherpunks, που προωθούν ενεργά τη χρήση ισχυρής κρυπτογραφίας. Εντούτοις, χρειάστηκαν δέκα χρόνια, και ίσως η κατάρρευση της Lehman Brothers, μέχρι να υπάρξουν οι πρώτες ενδείξεις πρακτικής εφαρμογής αυτής της ιδέας.

Το 2008, πιθανότατα με έμπνευση την οικονομική κρίση, έγινε η πρώτη επιστημονική δημοσίευση που περιέγραφε το bitcoin. To 2009 το Bitcoin έκανε την πρώτη του λειτουργική εμφάνιση, με την κυκλοφορία του πρώτου client ανοιχτού κώδικα, και την δημιουργία των αντίστοιχων Bitcoins. Ο συγγραφέας της δημοσίευσης και δημιουργός του αντίστοιχου λογισμικού παρέμεινε ανώνυμος, χρησιμοποιώντας το ψευδώνυμο Satoshi Nakamoto. Η πραγματική ταυτότητά του, ή ακόμα και το αν πρόκειται για ένα άτομο ή για μία ομάδα, παραμένει ένα μυστήριο μέχρι και σήμερα. Φυσικά, επειδή το internet λατρεύει ένα καλό μυστήριο, πολλές θεωρίες έχουν προταθεί για το ποιος μπορεί να κρύβεται πίσω από το ψευδώνυμο αυτό.

Ανάμεσα στην πληθώρα θεωριών, αρκετές είναι σχετικά λογικές, υποδεικνύοντας υποψηφίους με τα κατάλληλα προσόντα: μαθηματικές ιδιοφυΐες, επιστήμονες των υπολογιστών, οικονομικούς κοινωνιολόγους με γνώσεις προγραμματισμού, και ομάδες κρυπτογράφων.

Υπάρχουν βέβαια και οι "άντε γεια" θεωρίες, όπως πχ ότι οι εταιρείες Samsung, Toshiba, Nakamichi και Motorola κρύβονται πίσω από το Bitcoin. Γιατί δεν είχαν τίποτα καλύτερο να κάνουν, ολόκληρες πολυεθνικές, από το να παίζουν με ψηφιακά νομίσματα...

Αυτό που ξέρουμε είναι πως ο Satoshi Nakamoto για μεγάλο διάστημα έδινε το παρόν σε διάφορα forum σχετικά με το Bitcoin, απαντώντας σε ερωτήσεις.Ύστερα, την άνοιξη του 2012 εξαφανίστηκε από προσώπου Internet, και έκτοτε δεν έχει ξαναδώσει ψηφιακά σημεία ζωής.

Μπορεί το Bitcoin να αποτελέσει εναλλακτική έναντι της φυλακής του ευρώ στην Ελλάδα; Αξίζει ίσως να εξεταστεί σοβαρά μια τέτοια πιθανότητα.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique.
