Ο Στουρνάρας είναι η ΕΕ - και σε όποιον αρέσει

Πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα η παρέμβαση του Γιάνη Βαρουφάκη, μέσω της Εφημερίδας των Συντακτών, με την οποία ζητά την απομάκρυνση του Στουρνάρα από την Τράπεζα της Ελλάδας για τέσσερις λόγους.

Αρκετοί ακόμη σχολιαστές κινήθηκαν το τελευταίο διάστημα στην ίδια γραμμή αμφισβητώντας όχι μόνο το παρελθόν και το παρόν του Στουρνάρα αλλά και τις ικανότητές του ως οικονομολόγου και πολιτικού.

Το πρόβλημα με τις συγκεκριμένες προσεγγίσεις είναι ότι παρουσιάζουν τον κεντρικό τραπεζίτη σαν αυτό που οι Αμερικανοί αποκαλούν bad apple – μια εξαίρεση που προκαλεί δυσλειτουργία σε ένα σύστημα το οποίο θα λειτουργούσε υποδειγματικά, εάν δεν υπήρχαν ορισμένα ανήθικα, διεφθαρμένα ή απλώς άχρηστα στελέχη.

Τίποτα δεν θα μπορούσε να απέχει περισσότερο από αυτή τη αντίληψη.

Ο Στουρνάρας αποτελεί υποδειγματικό στέλεχος των μηχανισμών που έστησε τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες η ευρωζώνη και η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Πρόκειται για έναν ασπόνδυλο τεχνοκράτη, περιορισμένων ικανοτήτων, ο οποίος εκτελεί εντολές που λαμβάνει – είτε άμεσα από ελληνικές και ξένες τράπεζες ή έμμεσα μέσω της Ευρωπαϊκής Κεντρικής Τράπεζες.

«Ανεξάρτητος» από κάθε δημοκρατικό έλεγχο εκφράζει τα σημαντικότερα χαρακτηριστικά του ευρωπαϊκού οικοδομήματος – ενός μηχανισμού, που όπως εξηγούμε στο ντοκιμαντέρ This is not a coup, στήθηκε από τραπεζίτες για τραπεζίτες με διαρκή θύματα τους πολίτες της Ευρώπης.

Το γεγονός ότι μπορεί να δηλώνει δημόσια ότι υπέσκαπτε τις θέσεις της χώρας του κατά τη διάρκεια των διαπραγματεύσεων και να μην διώκεται για αυτό οφείλεται στο γεγονός ότι εκπροσωπεί τις δυνάμεις της ΕΕ στις οποίες το ΠΑΣΟΚ, η ΝΔ και ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ παρέδωσαν την εξουσία της χώρας.

Το αν ο Στουρνάρας βρίσκεται στο πηδάλιο της κεντρικής τράπεζας ή αν αντικατασταθεί από τον επόμενο στη λίστα των Κουίσλινγκ της ΕΚΤ, είναι αδιάφορο για όσο διάστημα οι αποφάσεις για την ελληνική οικονομία έρχονται με e-mail από την Φρανκφούρτη.

Όσοι λοιπόν ζητούν (ορθώς) την απομάκρυνσή του, χωρίς όμως να κάνουν λόγο για την ανάγκη εξόδου από την ευρωζώνη, απλώς προσπαθούν να συγκαλύψουν τα πραγματικά αίτια του προβλήματος.

Είναι τα ίδια στελέχη της ευρωπαϊκής αριστεράς που έστρωσαν το έδαφος για την άνοδο της ευρωσκεπτικιστικής ακροδεξιάς αφού εγκατέλειψαν κάθε κριτική προς την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση.

Ίσως αν σταματήσουν – έστω και για λίγο – να ξοδεύουν όλη τη φαιά ουσία τους για να υπερασπιστούν το ευρώ τα αποτελέσματα να είναι σημαντικότερα από την αντικατάσταση ενός τεχνοκράτη με τον επόμενο τεχνοκράτη.
