«Παράγοντας του Εδεσσαϊκού» εξηγεί πώς έγινε «πρόεδρος» ο Γκουαϊδό στη Βενεζουέλα

Τρικυμία εν κρανίω αποτελεί η απάντηση που προσπάθησε να δώσει ο ειδικός απεσταλμένος των ΗΠΑ για τη Βενεζουέλα, Έλιοτ Άμπραμς, σε συνέντευξη Τύπου που παραχώρησε σχετικά με την “μεταβατική θητεία” του Χουάν Γκουαϊδό.

Παρά το γεγονός ότι ο Γκουαϊδό αυτοπαρουσιάζεται σαν “πρόεδρος” της χώρας και επικεφαλής μια μεταβατικής κυβέρνησης τριάντα ημερών, η θητεία της οποίας θα έληγε στις 28 Φεβρουαρίου, ο Άμπραμς δήλωσε ότι ουσιαστικά η μεταβατική “προεδρία” του Γκουαϊδό, όπως ψηφίστηκε από την Εθνοσυνέλευση της Βενεζουέλας, δεν έχει ξεκινήσει ακόμα αφού πρώτα πρέπει να αποχωρήσει από την εξουσία ο Νικολάς Μαδούρο.

Στην συνέχεια, έπειτα από ερώτηση δημοσιογράφου, παραδέχτηκε το γεγονός ότι η ενέργεια του Χουάν Γκουαϊδό στις 23 Ιανουαρίου να αναλάβει υποτίθεται τα καθήκοντα του σαν μεταβατικός πρόεδρος μέχρι τις 23 Φεβρουαρίου ήταν αντίθετη στο Ψήφισμα της Εθνοσυνέλευσης στο οποίο ο ίδιος αναφέρθηκε νωρίτερα.

Τέλος καταλήγει πως το μόνο όργανο που αναγνωρίζουν οι ΗΠΑ ως συνταγματικό και νόμιμο είναι η Εθνοσυνέλευση και λαμβάνουν υπόψη την ερμηνεία των νόμων που δίνει αυτή. Έτσι εφόσον η Εθνοσυνέλευση λέει πως η προεδρία της χώρας είναι «κενή» μέχρι να αποχωρήσει ο Μαδούρο, ο Γκουαϊδό είναι μεταβατικός πρόεδρος της Βενεζουέλας αλλά δεν μπορεί να ασκήσει τα καθήκοντά του διότι ο Μαδούρο είναι ακόμα εκεί. Και κλείνει με τη φράση «Νομίζω ότι είναι λογικό».

Ακόμη βέβαια και αν κάποιος προσπαθήσει να αποκρυπτογραφήσει τα λεγόμενα του Άμπραμς το γεγονός είναι ότι ακόμη και αν η θέση του προέδρου ήταν “κενή” το σύνταγμα της χώρας δεν προβλέπει να αναλάβει την προεδρία ο επικεφαλής της εθνοσυνέλευσης.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’
