The
Greek Council of State, through a short announcement, has officially
confirmed the propaganda by the neoliberal banking-media dictatorship
in Greece. As expected, not a single word has been said by the
mainstream media mouthpieces about this:
“An
organised propaganda campaign is being waged in various publications,
TV shows and social media against the functioning of the Council of
State, which has been criticised by the the IMF over its 'adverse
court rulings' that represent 'downside risks' for the country's
austerity programme.”
“The
head of the country’s supreme administrative court has claimed that
an organised campaign is being waged by the media against his
institution and that this 'propaganda' could have implications for
the independence of the body.”
“In a
communiqué issued to judges and other officials on July 2, the
Council of State’s president, Sotiris A Rizos, refers to the
existence of a “campaign of publications, TV shows and social
media” targeting the institution. 'The propaganda is being
exercised in an organised manner and could potentially harm the
freedom of judgment of the judiciary and, eventually, cause
irreparable harm to the judicial work of the court,' he added.”
“This
would serve to reduce the willingness of judges to offer legal
protection to citizens, the communiqué continued, which was
published on the court’s website.”
“Rizos
said that the propaganda campaign against the court, which determines
whether government laws and decisions are compatible with the
constitution, has resulted from recent decisions that reversed a
number of wage cuts imposed as part of troika-mandated austerity.
These decisions restored the pay of judges, military, police and
other uniformed state employees to 2012 levels.”
“Is
there a country that a warning from the President of the highest
court against an organised attempt by mass media to distort the
normal function of the judiciary would pass unnoticed? From July 2nd
there is at least Greece. [...] Till today, July 10th, no big media
has paid attention to the judge’s gesture.”
Since
the beginning of the crisis in Greece, the mainstream media launched
an unprecedented propaganda to hide the responsibilities of the
bankers and impose cruel measures against people in favor of the big
capital under Troika's commands. Only a few examples:
“Tactics of downgrading
followed excessively, resemble rating agencies, which gave the
signal for the start of the economic war against Greece.
Government exploits even the only way of workers' resistance,
which is strikes and protests. Using the mainstream media which
are fully committed to the memorandum policies, as they are fully
controlled by the banks and big private interests, the government
uses the propaganda in full force to blame workers for the
deficient function of hospitals, universities and other public
institutions.”
“... the big private media
fully support government through propaganda, as they have shared
the digital frequencies, which is the first gift they received
from government just after the "black" against ERT,
plus, they need government to expand neoliberal policies in favor
of their bosses.”
“Right after the short
governmental crisis in Greece, when 'Dimokratiki Aristera', the
leftist party of the governmental troika, retired from the
governmental coalition, another disorientation operation began
immediately in Greece, by the banking-media establishment and its
politicians-puppets in power, through a massive propaganda attack,
in an effort to downgrade the major issue that came up, after the
unacceptable decision concerning the closing of the Greek public
broadcaster (ERT), and also, to disorientate Greek people from the
new catastrophic measures which are about to come, and include
among other things, massive discharges in public sector, as
exactly the lenders' troika wants.”
“Neoliberal dictatorship
representatives in Greece continue to spread the propaganda
concerning the Greek banks. Various mouthpieces continue to
propagate the false perception that the Greek banks are, at the
moment, under the state control and some of them claim that this
is a proof of the Soviet function of the economy!”
“The Greek government tried to
persuade about the “success story” of Greece after Greek Prime
Minister Antonis Samara's trip to China and Azerbaijan, that is,
recovery is imminent, Greece returns to growth and better days are
coming. Very difficult to do, as the reality experienced by
millions of Greeks is completely different. The dominant
bank-occupied media in Greece were mobilized, as always, for this
new propagandistic disorientation effort, and the arsenal of
propaganda was enhanced by some German media with articles
praising Samaras. Wolfgang Schauble also supported this operation
by praising Greece and the countries which adopted devastating
austerity measures.”
