Ένα εγχειρίδιο προπαγάνδας για το Ισραήλ

“Καθώς ο ισραηλινός στρατός σφυροκοπούσε για μια ακόμη φορά τη Γάζα, στα τέλη του 2008 και τις πρώτες εβδομάδες του 2009, αρκετοί Ισραηλινοί αξιωματούχοι έλαβαν ένα απόρρητο έγγραφο στο ηλεκτρονικό του ταχυδρομείο. Γραμμένο από τον Αμερικανό πολιτικό αναλυτή και σύμβουλο του ρεπουμπλικανικού κόμματος, Φρανκ Λουντζ, το κείμενο αποτελούσε το απόλυτο εγχειρίδιο προπαγάνδας που θα έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιεί κάθε αξιωματούχος 'που βρίσκεται στην πρώτη γραμμή του επικοινωνιακού πολέμου'. Το συγκεκριμένο αρχείο, που διέρρευσε αρχικά από την ηλεκτρονική σελίδα του Newsweek και στη συνέχεια αναλύθηκε διεξοδικά από τον βρετανικό Independent, εκτός από γενικές κατευθυντήριες γραμμές περιλαμβάνει ακόμη και έτοιμες λέξεις και φράσεις που θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιούνται κατά τη διάρκεια τηλεοπτικών συνεντεύξεων και δημόσιων εκδηλώσεων.”

“... τα δελτία ειδήσεων των μεγαλύτερων διεθνών μέσων ενημέρωσης (και αρκετών Ελληνικών) φαίνεται να αντιγράφουν σελίδες από το συγκεκριμένο εγχειρίδιο προπαγάνδας. Δεν έχουν περάσει άλλωστε και αρκετά χρόνια από τη στιγμή που μεγάλες αθηναϊκές εφημερίδες είχαν δημοσιεύσει αυτούσια αποσπάσματα από κείμενα της ισραηλινής κυβέρνησης, εναντίον της αποστολής ανθρωπιστικής από την πρωτοβουλία 'Ένα Καράβι για τη Γάζα'.”

“Ήδη από τις πρώτες σελίδες ο καλός 'προπαγανδιστής' μαθαίνει ότι στο λόγο του πρέπει να δείχνει 'συμπόνοια' και για τις δυο πλευρές υποστηρίζοντας ότι ο ίδιος μάχεται για ένα καλύτερο και ειρηνικό μέλλον για τα παιδιά των Ισραηλινών αλλά και των Παλαιστινίων.”

“Παρά το γεγονός ότι ο Λουντζ αναγνωρίζει στο κείμενό του ότι η Χαμάς κέρδισε τις τελευταίες δημοκρατικές εκλογές στα Παλαιστινιακά εδάφη, επισημαίνει αρκετές φορές ότι θα πρέπει πάντα να γίνεται διάκριση ανάμεσα στους Παλαιστίνιους και την συγκεκριμένη οργάνωση. [...] Σχεδόν σε κάθε κεφάλαιο πάντως τονίζεται η ανάγκη συνεργασίας με τον πρόεδρο της Παλαιστινιακής Αρχής Μαχμούντ Αμπάς ο οποίος παρουσιάζεται σαν φωνή της λογικής.”

“'Μην λέτε ότι το Ισραήλ δεν κάνει λάθη' τονίζει ο Λουντζ επισημαίνοντας ότι τα τελευταία χρόνια η αντίληψη της διεθνούς κοινότητας ότι οι Εβραίοι είναι ένας 'κυνηγημένος λαός' έχει μειωθεί αισθητά. Συνεπώς, υποστηρίζει το κείμενο, οι αξιωματούχοι του Ισραήλ πρέπει να κρατούν χαμηλούς τόνους. Παράλληλα προτείνεται η αναφορά στο ολοκαύτωμα των Εβραίων από τη ναζιστική Γερμανία με φράσεις όπως: 'εύχομαι να μην το ζήσουν τα παιδιά σας αυτά που περάσαμε εμείς'.”

“'Οι πολλές αναφορές στην ιστορία κουράζουν το ακροατήριο και το ίδιο συμβαίνει και με την παράθεση πολλών στοιχείων', αναφέρεται χαρακτηριστικά στο κείμενο ενώ επισημαίνεται ότι οι υποστηρικτές του Ισραήλ θα πρέπει να μένουν πιστοί στην λεγόμενη αρχή K.I.S.S (αρκτικόλεξο από την φράση Keep it Simple Stupid – Μιλα Απλά Ηλίθιε). Το μήνυμά σας θα αρχίσει να περνά στο ακροατήριο μόνο όταν θα βαρεθείτε να ακούτε τον εαυτό σας να επαναλαμβάνεται, συμβουλεύει τους αναγνώστες του ο Λουντζ διευκρινίζοντας μάλιστα ότι τα βασικό μήνυμα σε κάθε συνέντευξη θα πρέπει να επαναληφθεί τουλάχιστον δέκα φορές.”

“Με δεδομένη φυσικά την εκρηκτική ανάπτυξη των εβραϊκών εποικισμών και τη διαρκή συρρίκνωση των Παλαιστινιακών εδαφών τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες και κυρίως από την εποχή που γράφτηκε το συγκεκριμένο εγχειρίδιο, εύκολα καταλαβαίνει κανείς τα οφέλη που προσέφερε στους αξιωματούχους του Ισραήλ αυτή η παρελκυστική πολιτική. Είναι χαρακτηριστικό ότι το κείμενο καλεί τους ισραηλινούς αξιωματούχους να αναφέρονται με γενικότητες στο θέμα των συνόρων χωρίς ποτέ να προσδιορίζουν σε ποια σύνορα αναφέρονται.”

“'Θα κερδίσετε σε αξιοπιστία εάν δείχνετε να ενδιαφέρεστε για την ευημερία του Παλαιστινιακού πληθυσμού και όχι μόνο για την ασφάλεια του Ισραήλ' τονίζεται στο κείμενο. Στο ίδιο κεφάλαιο επισημαίνεται ότι δεν πρέπει να χρησιμοποιούνται λέξεις όπως 'δίνουμε στους Παλαιστίνιους' αλλά προτάσεις όπως 'οικοδομούμε μαζί με τους Παλαιστίνιους' καθώς στην πρώτη περίπτωση γίνεται εμφανές ποιος είναι ο πραγματικός επικυρίαρχος στην περιοχή ενώ πρέπει να προωθείται μια εικόνα 'ισότητας' των δυο πλευρών.”

“Πόσο διαφορετική φαντάζει όμως αυτή η ψευδής επικοινωνιακή εικόνα με την πραγματικότητα που επιφυλάσσει το κράτος του Ισραήλ για τη Γάζα. Όπως έγινε γνωστό σε απόρρητο τηλεγράφημα της αμερικανικής πρεσβείας που διέρρευσε μέσω του Wikileaks, Ισραηλινοί αξιωματούχοι εφαρμόζουν εδώ και χρόνια μια πολιτική οικονομικού στραγγαλισμού της Γάζας με στόχο, όπως ανέφεραν οι ίδιοι, να διατηρούν την οικονομία της περιοχής 'ένα βήμα πριν από την ολοκληρωτική κατάρρευση'.”
