It seems that the French rapidly regret for electing the neoliberal puppet

globinfo freexchange Emmanuel Macron popularity continues to decline rapidly, as more and more French start to realize that the former Rothschild banker is nothing more than a neoliberal puppet of the rich. The confirmation comes from three economists who actually inspired Macron's campaign program:            In the confidential memo sent to Mr Macron’s office on June 4, top economists Philippe Aghion, Philippe Martin and Jean Pisani-Ferry said that the president’s economic policy and “emancipatory ambition” was failing to convince citizens, including his “most fervent supporters”, according to French newspaper Le Monde. “Many supporters of the then-candidate fear a shift to the right, motivated by the temptation to occupy the political space neglected by a conservative party in crisis,” the economists wrote, referring to the country’s embattled Les Républicains party. Mr Macron, who has pitched himself as “neither left nor right,” loosened France’s rigid labour ru

In a recent communication between Randy Credico, an Assange supporter, comic and radio producer, and Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, Assange’s fear of arrest and extradition to the US was confirmed by the leader of the Russia-gate frenzy. Credico received the following response from Schiff after meeting the the Congressman’s staff, in which Credico was trying to connect Assange with Schiff: “Our committee would be willing to interview Assange when he is in U.S. Custody and not before.” Dennis Bernstein spoke with John Pilger, a close friend and supporter of Assange on May 29. The interview began with the statement Bernstein delivered for Pilger at the Left Forum last weekend in New York on a panel devoted to Assange entitled, “Russia-gate and WikiLeaks”. Pilger’s Statement            There is a silence among many who call themselves left. The silence is Julian Assange. As every false accusation has fallen away, eve

A military coalition formally led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and supported by the United States and Britain, bombed a newly constructed cholera treatment in Yemen on Monday, June 11. This attack comes after Yemen, the poorest country in the Middle East, suffered through the worst cholera outbreak in recorded history, with more than 1 million cases reported in 2017 alone. The cholera treatment center was operated by the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (known in French as Médecins Sans Frontières, or MSF). It was located in Yemen’s northwestern Hajjah Governorate, an area that has been heavily bombarded by Saudi Arabia for more than 3 years. MSF said in a statement that the cholera treatment center had markings on the roof that clearly identified it as a healthcare facility. It added that the center has been destroyed and is now completely non-functional. The U.S.-backed Saudi coalition has repeatedly bombed medica

OAS panel dutifully ignores Zionist abuses, pushes Venezuela regime change

On May 29, the OAS panel of “independent experts” convened in Washington to build the case for toppling the Bolivarian government and prosecuting Maduro at the International Criminal Court. by Elliott Gabriel Part 4 - The OAS panel: a mouthpiece of imperialism Cotler is far from alone among the morally dubious figures arrogating moral authority to themselves; OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro has also praised the Israelis, favorably comparing the scandal-ridden Netanyahu government to that of Maduro, despite the latter head of state not having launched aggressive wars on his own population or neighboring states. In the meantime, Almagro has been relatively silent in respect to the Western Hemisphere’s most pressing human-rights crises — such as the Mexican government’s crackdowns on social movements resisting neoliberal structural reforms, assassinations of social movement leaders and paramilitary attacks on rural and Indigenous communities thr

David Harvey: unless there is some real new thinking, another crisis is inevitable

globinfo freexchange Chris Hedges spoke with David Harvey about the repeated crises of the capitalist system, which generate further instability, especially since the early 70s where we have the rise of financial capitalism and neoliberal ideology. As Harvey points out: Interestingly, in almost every crisis there has been a good deal of re-evaluation of exactly how to think about the economy, how to think about the relationship between state power and politics and all this kind of stuff. Since 2007-08, is hardly any new thinking at all. And actually, we're trying to hang on. And we are trying to hang on because the oligarchy - which has all of the money, all of the power - is actually in a situation where it does not want any change. And until we confront the oligarchy, we're not going to find a way of exiting from this, apart from repeating what happened in 2007-08. And the interesting thing when you look back, before 2007-08, and yo

Israel pushes FIFA to punish Argentina over solidarity with Palestine

With the backing of the Israeli Football Association (IFA), Comtec, an Israeli production company, has announced that it will send a delegation to FIFA headquarters Switzerland and push for the Argentinian football team to be removed from the upcoming World Cup in retaliation for the recent decision of Argentina’s Football Association to cancel a “friendly” match against the Israeli national team that had been scheduled for this Saturday. According to reports, Comtec – which was involved in planning the match – and the IFA are set to claim that Argentina should be expelled from the World Cup in Russia due to “religious discrimination” against the Jewish people after choosing to stand in solidarity with Palestine. On Wednesday, the national football team of Argentina shocked the world as it announced it would not participate in a “friendly” match after pressure from Palestinian rights groups, including Boycott Divest Sanctions (BDS). It was only the latest victory f
