Why China grows faster than US

RT America Economist and founder of Democracy at Work Prof. Richard Wolff joins RT America’s Michele Greenstein (in for Rick Sanchez) to discuss the US-China trade war, peculiarities of the Chinese economic system and what an economic slowdown in China would mean for the global economy. He argues that China is “ the model for what most Americans want ” and that this is embarrassing to Washington. He also weighs in on the Hong Kong protests.

Mike Gravel: Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard are the only hope to stop imperial foreign policy

goingundergroundRT Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Mike Gravel says Bolton was close to start a war with Iran. He is the reason for the current hostility between the US, Russia, and China. Gravel also says that the only hope for a peaceful US foreign policy is Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.

Edward Snowden: ‘you have to be ready to stand for something’

The Guardian Edward Snowden has spent the last six years living in exile in Russia and has now decided to publish his memoirs, Permanent Record. In the book he reflects on his life leading up to the biggest leak of top secret documents in history, and the impact this had on his relationship with his partner, Lindsay Mills. The Guardian 's Ewen MacAskill, who helped break Snowden's story in 2013, has been given exclusive access to meet him.

How the CIA, Mossad and “the Epstein Network” are exploiting mass shootings to create an Orwellian nightmare

Following another catastrophic mass shooting or crisis event, Orwellian “solutions” are set to be foisted on a frightened American public by the very network connected, not only to Jeffrey Epstein, but to a litany of crimes and a frightening history of plans to crush internal dissent in the United States. by Whitney Webb Part 2 - Demystifying Carbyne Carbyne911, which will be referred to simply as Carbyne in this report, is an Israeli tech-startup that promises to revolutionize how calls are handled by emergency service providers, as well as by governments, corporations and educational institutions. Not long after it was founded in 2014 by veterans of Israeli military intelligence, Carbyne began to be specifically marketed as a solution to mass shootings in the United States that goes “ beyond the gun debate ” and improves the “ intelligence that armed emergency responders receive before entering an armed shooter situation ” by providing video-streaming and acoustic input f

The Citgo conspiracy: Opposition figures accuse Guaidó officials of ‘scam’ to liquidate Venezuela’s most prized international asset

Venezuela’s opposition has long accused the Bolivarian government of corruption and mismanagement. But with Citgo on the verge of liquidation, Guaidó’s officials are too incompetent — or too devious — to save it. by Anya Parampil Part 4 - Caught in yet another lie Following the July 29 court ruling in favor of Crystallex, José Ignacio Hernández’s past relationship with the company finally surfaced in Venezuelan media. On July 31, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced a criminal investigation into Hernández, accusing the lawyer of “ a conflict of interest that violates all judicial ethics ” and “ treason toward his fellow citizens. ” Hernández dismissed the allegations as “false” later that same day, telling TV Venezuela he had recused himself from the Crystallex case back in March. Yet Crystallex was not the only corporation battling Venezuela’s government that had turned to Hernández for expert testimony. According to documents filed with the W

Greece is about to become the blueprint for modern feudalism

globinfo freexchange After almost ten years of an unprecedented crisis, Greece has been trapped into an ongoing, slow motion recession. The economy still struggling hard to recover, with unemployment and national debt being permanently in a red alarm mode. As has been already pointed out , the result of the recent Greek national elections could be characterized "paradoxical" mainly for two reasons:  First, the voters gave a clear governmental order to one of the traditional powers of the old political system, which are highly responsible for the Greek crisis that erupted in 2010. Several top names of the new government, and even New Democracy leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, have been accused of being involved in various corruption scandals, in the not so distant past. Second, the fact that the voters elected perhaps the most fanatically neoliberal government ever. This means that Mitsotakis administration is expected to implement the brutal neoliberal policies imp

UN: US, France, UK may be complicit in Yemen war crimes

The United States, Britain and France may be complicit in war crimes in Yemen by arming and providing intelligence and logistics support to a Saudi-led coalition that starves civilians as a war tactic, Reuters reported the United Nations saying today. UN investigators compiled a secret list of possible international war crimes suspects, drawn from their latest report into violations during the four-year conflict between a coalition of Arab states and the Houthi movement that controls Yemen’s capital. Investigators found potential crimes on both sides, while also highlighting the role Western countries play as key backers of the Arab states and Iran plays in support of the Houthis. The report accused the anti-Houthi coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates of killing civilians in air strikes and deliberately denying them food in a country facing famine. The Houthis for their part have shelled cities, deployed child soldiers and used “ siege-like warfare ”, it s

Britain’s Tory party is heading for extinction

by Finian Cunningham The ultimate Brexit casualty could very well be Britain’s ruling Conservative Party. Cabinet resignations and the purging of rebel parliamentarians by Boris Johnson point to his party heading for a historic schism. The walking out of cabinet by Johnson’s own brother in protest over Brexit policy epitomizes the fundamental, bitter shift going on in British politics. Another illustration of just how intense the fracturing strains within the Tory party have reached was this: among the 21 MPs that Johnson expelled this week for defying his no-deal Brexit plans, were two former chancellors, Kenneth Clarke and Philip Hammond, and Sir Nicholas Soames. They will not be allowed to stand in any future election as party candidates.  Soames is the grandson of Conservative icon and wartime leader Winston Churchill, who is also said to be a political hero of the current prime minister. However, in a scathing putdown, Soames said there was no comparison between Churc

Leading presidential candidates square off in third Democratic debate

Democracy Now! Bolton gone but Trump still beholden to Zionism

by Dennis Etler The firing of John Bolton as Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser will not change US foreign policy as he served more as a foil for the US president than his right-hand man. Bolton, the outspoken interventionist, contrasted sharply with Trump who got elected promising to end US entanglement in foreign countries affairs. For all his fiery rhetoric Trump contravened conventional diplomacy and some sacred shibboleths of US foreign policy. Much to the chagrin and alarm of both neo-cons and neo-liberals alike Trump has advocated for a restoration of normal relations with Russia, has negotiated directly with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and backed away from military confrontations with Iran and Venezuela. Bolton’s influence, however, helped fan the flames of the US-China trade war and his behind the scenes manipulations are thought to have helped scuttled previous agreements between the US and China. A case can be made that Bolton also attempted to scuttle the p
