Liberals working overtime to undermine anti-war rally

The Jimmy Dore Show   On February 19th, individuals representing a wide range of political backgrounds will be appearing on stage in Washington DC to demand an end to the Ukraine War and to avoid possible nuclear war. While all the speakers agree that this war must end, there are myriad disagreements among them on other pressing political issues. Many critics, primarily among the liberal classes, have criticized the rally because they object to stances taken by some speakers on LGBT or trans issues. But that’s the thing about organizing around a common objective – everyone doesn’t have to agree about everything in order to rally together for that specific cause.

US allies denying earthquake aid to Syrian people

The Jimmy Dore Show   That the United States was supporting the “moderate rebels” in Syria was repeated so often it became a punchline, especially once it became evident that the U.S.’s allies in Syria included elements of ISIS and Al Qaeda – hardly “moderates.” But now those groups control the Syrian city of Idlib and, despite the devastation wrought on the region by recent earthquakes, the authorities in Idlib are refusing to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need.

Day 1408: Julian Assange still in prison and under slow-motion execution by the Anglo-American imperialist criminals

failed evolution   On 11 April 2019, the Ecuadorian government of traitor Lenin Moreno, invited the Metropolitan Police into the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and they arrested Julian Assange . Since then, Assange is kept in Belmarsh high security prison in London, without actual charges.   The real reason world's number one political prisoner is still kept in this high security prison, is because he exposed horrendous war crimes carried out by the US imperialists and their allies.   The ruthless Western imperialist regime wants to punish the No1 real journalist in the world and make him an example for any Whistleblower or real journalist who will attempt to expose its big crimes in the future.   And the Anglo-American axis has now become officially a fascist coalition , framed by the rest of its Western pets. UK's Home Secretary Priti Patel, one of the most ruthless ever, decided to extradite Julian Assange to US. No surprise of course. The only question we had in mind is

How Western sanctions blow back, hurting Europe, deepening Asian integration

Western sanctions led Russia to greatly increase trade with Asia, while devastating Europe’s economy. The US tech war against China is damaging its own industry.   by Renate Bridenthal  Part 7 - US sanctions on China risk global trade war, hurting Western industries   One important, contradictory result of the measures taken so far has been the growing closeness of Russia and China, who now hold joint military exercises. In terms of Beijing, whose spectacular growth presents a clear challenge to U.S. global dominance, Washington has begun a stronger form of economic coercion: export controls. Here the danger of blowback is even greater, possibly leading to a long-lasting trade war over semiconductors or microchips, the key to advanced civilian and military technology. In October 2022, the U.S. Commerce Department barred Chinese chip, biomedical, and chemical companies from importing highly advanced American chip design and manufacturing tools. The goal is to prevent Chinese companies f

Revealed: Britain secretly turned non-aligned Cyprus into a key NATO asset

A formerly top secret UK report shows Britain’s territory on Cyprus formed a key part of NATO’s surveillance and nuclear capabilities in the Mediterranean during the Cold War, despite knowing this was “not consistent” with the island’s non-aligned stance. by Matt Kennard   Part 2 - ‘Not consistent with the non-aligned position’       Independent Cyprus’s first president, Archbishop Makarios, was prominent supporter of Non-Aligned Movement during Cold War     But British territories on Cyprus were “of great strategic importance” to NATO     Top secret map shows UK ran “NATO communications station” in Cyprus outside of British base areas     Covert surveillance operations were carried out from British Cyprus “on behalf of NATO”     Targets for Cyprus-based nuclear-capable Vulcan bomber squadrons were coordinated with NATO     UK planners cautioned “it is important to avoid drawing attention to the NATO implications of military activities” on British Cyprus   “ The continuation of the UK

Latin America refuses to send Ukraine weapons, despite Western pressure

Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia have refused to send weapons to Ukraine, despite pressure by the US and EU. Latin American left-wing leaders have urged peace with Russia and called for neutrality in the West’s new cold war.   by Ben Norton  Part 3 - Colombia’s Petro opposes sending weapons to Ukraine Colombia’s first ever left-wing president, Gustavo Petro, revealed that the United States pressured his country as well to give weapons to Ukraine. But he refused to do so, instead urging peace. In comments at the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Buenos Aires on January 24, Petro noted that Colombia had previously purchased Russian military equipment, “ for its own purposes inside the country ”. Washington wants Bogotá to send that Russian equipment to Ukraine, but Petro stressed that his nation’s constitution calls for international peace, and therefore those military technologies “ will stay as junk in Colombia “. “ We are not with anyone; we are

Iran’s unrest triggers explosion of fake news

Some of the most incendiary accusations made against Iran’s government by corporate media, celebrity influencers and Western leaders in the past months are little more than fabrications. And most remain uncorrected.   by Setareh Sadeqi and Christopher Weaver   Part 5 - The little girl who died three times   On September 28, billionaire child fantasy author J.K. Rowling retweeted a post that read as follows: “ Heartbreaking 💔 Iranian father who promised to live long enough to dance at his daughter’s wedding ends up dancing at her funeral after she was killed by the Iranian morality police for not covering her hair. ” The viral tweet was accompanied by video clip from the Azerbaijan drama series ‘Ata Ocagi’ (Hearth of Father) from 2018.  This same scene has been used to manipulate emotions in narratives used to advance both Covid restrictions and Syrian regime change. Just imagine being killed by the Syrian “regime,” then succumbing to Covid before being cruelly cut down by the Ayatolla

Why is Venezuela’s gold still frozen in the Bank of England?

Four years ago, the UK government recognised Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s president. He’s now gone, but the Bank of England is still holding some of the country’s key assets. JOHN McEVOY   Part 3 - ‘Delighted’ to freeze Venezuela’s gold   The Foreign Office is refusing to say whether its officials or ministers have had discussions with counterparts in the United States on the Venezuelan gold stored in the Bank of England since 2019. In response to a Freedom of Information request, it also claimed that “ the release of information relating to this case could harm our relations with the United States of America and Venezuela ”. Yet according to Bolton, Hunt was “ delighted ” to help with Washington’s destabilisation campaign in Venezuela, “ for example freezing Venezuelan gold deposits in the Bank of England ”. The Bank’s directors, however, were uneasy about the legal implications of freezing a foreign state’s assets. The Bank of England had already refused to release Venezuela’s gold in
