Day 1415: Julian Assange still in prison and under slow-motion execution by the Anglo-American imperialist criminals

failed evolution   On 11 April 2019, the Ecuadorian government of traitor Lenin Moreno, invited the Metropolitan Police into the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and they arrested Julian Assange . Since then, Assange is kept in Belmarsh high security prison in London, without actual charges.   The real reason world's number one political prisoner is still kept in this high security prison, is because he exposed horrendous war crimes carried out by the US imperialists and their allies.   The ruthless Western imperialist regime wants to punish the No1 real journalist in the world and make him an example for any Whistleblower or real journalist who will attempt to expose its big crimes in the future.   And the Anglo-American axis has now become officially a fascist coalition , framed by the rest of its Western pets. UK's Home Secretary Priti Patel, one of the most ruthless ever, decided to extradite Julian Assange to US. No surprise of course. The only question we had in mind is

Revealed: Britain secretly turned non-aligned Cyprus into a key NATO asset

A formerly top secret UK report shows Britain’s territory on Cyprus formed a key part of NATO’s surveillance and nuclear capabilities in the Mediterranean during the Cold War, despite knowing this was “not consistent” with the island’s non-aligned stance. by Matt Kennard   Part 3 - ‘Cyprus enhances the NATO position’       Independent Cyprus’s first president, Archbishop Makarios, was prominent supporter of Non-Aligned Movement during Cold War     But British territories on Cyprus were “of great strategic importance” to NATO     Top secret map shows UK ran “NATO communications station” in Cyprus outside of British base areas     Covert surveillance operations were carried out from British Cyprus “on behalf of NATO”     Targets for Cyprus-based nuclear-capable Vulcan bomber squadrons were coordinated with NATO     UK planners cautioned “it is important to avoid drawing attention to the NATO implications of military activities” on British Cyprus   The value of Cyprus to NATO’s capabiliti

Latin America refuses to send Ukraine weapons, despite Western pressure

Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia have refused to send weapons to Ukraine, despite pressure by the US and EU. Latin American left-wing leaders have urged peace with Russia and called for neutrality in the West’s new cold war.   by Ben Norton  Part 4 - Argentina’s Alberto Fernández says Latin America will not arm Ukraine   Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Argentina on January 28. There, he asked President Alberto Fernández to send military equipment to Ukraine. Fernández declined, instead stating firmly at a press conference that “ Argentina and other Latin American countries do not plan to provide weapons to Ukraine, or to any other conflict zone ”. Fernández did criticize Russia for invading Ukraine, but he called for an end to the war, urging peace, not escalation. Trapped in $44 billion in debt with the US-dominated International Monetary Fund (IMF), Fernández’s government has boosted Argentina’s ties with China and Russia, joining Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative. Iran’s unrest triggers explosion of fake news

Some of the most incendiary accusations made against Iran’s government by corporate media, celebrity influencers and Western leaders in the past months are little more than fabrications. And most remain uncorrected.   by Setareh Sadeqi and Christopher Weaver   Part 6 - UN Iran expert’s imaginary ban on Kurdish names   During a November 2022 press conference at the United Nations, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Javaid Rehman, falsely claimed that Iran bans Kurdish names from being registered. In reality, the Iranian government’s online official registry of names shows at least 5686 people have registered their names as Zhina, which was Mahsa Amini’s Kurdish name. Rehman stated: “ On the subject of Kurdistan and the issue from Kurdistan, as you know, Kurdish people historically and in contemporary terms have been denied their fundamental human rights. And I will just give you one example: Zhina is a Kurdish name but she was n

Why is Venezuela’s gold still frozen in the Bank of England?

Four years ago, the UK government recognised Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s president. He’s now gone, but the Bank of England is still holding some of the country’s key assets. JOHN McEVOY   Part 4 - The legal battle   The UK’s recognition of Guaidó triggered a protracted legal battle over the gold. In May 2020, the Maduro government sued the Bank of England over its refusal to release the gold. The issue then moved to the courts, centring on whether the UK government recognised Guaidó, and if the Bank of England could therefore act on instructions from his “ad-hoc board” of the Central Bank of Venezuela. Throughout this time, the UK government consistently supported Guaidó’s case by emphasising its recognition of him. In 2020, for instance, the Foreign Office provided a written certificate to the courts to confirm that the UK still “ recognises Juan Guaido as the constitutional interim President of Venezuela ”. In 2021, the Foreign Office even acquired the services of Sir James Eadie QC

State surveillance and court cases: The lonely fight for press freedom of Greece’s independent media

by Alessio Giussani   Part 1  A new ecosystem of small, independent organisations is bringing a breath of transparent, in-depth reporting into the Greek media landscape but their work is being hindered by costly court cases and the threat of state surveillance. This comes as media freedom is continuing to decline in Greece. The country ranked 108th out of 180 countries in Reporters Without Borders’ 2022 Press Freedom Index — the worst-performing European country, triggering a furious response by the authorities. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis dismissed the ranking as " crap ", adding: “ We have a vibrant press, you can read everything you want in Greece ." Nikolas Leontopoulos, an editor at Reporters United, sees it differently: " We do have freedom of opinion, but there are some very sensitive issues that don’t even make it to the news ”. Until recently, at least. Source, links: https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2023/02/20/state-surveillance-and-court-cases-th

How America took out the Nord Stream pipeline

The New York Times called it a “mystery,” but the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret—until now   by Seymour Hersh   Part 2 - PLANNING   In December of 2021, two months before the first Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine, Jake Sullivan convened a meeting of a newly formed task force—men and women from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA, and the State and Treasury Departments—and asked for recommendations about how to respond to Putin’s impending invasion. It would be the first of a series of top-secret meetings, in a secure room on a top floor of the Old Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House, that was also the home of the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB). There was the usual back and forth chatter that eventually led to a crucial preliminary question: Would the recommendation forwarded by the group to the President be reversible—such as another layer of sanctions and currency restrictions—or irreversible—that is, kin

Liberals working overtime to undermine anti-war rally

The Jimmy Dore Show   On February 19th, individuals representing a wide range of political backgrounds will be appearing on stage in Washington DC to demand an end to the Ukraine War and to avoid possible nuclear war. While all the speakers agree that this war must end, there are myriad disagreements among them on other pressing political issues. Many critics, primarily among the liberal classes, have criticized the rally because they object to stances taken by some speakers on LGBT or trans issues. But that’s the thing about organizing around a common objective – everyone doesn’t have to agree about everything in order to rally together for that specific cause.
