NO EURO International Forum

The Coordination brings together political parties and popular movements that consider non-negotiable principles of freedom, social equality and brotherhood among peoples. This is why we oppose the neo-liberal globalization, which is based on dogmas that are at opposite: replacement of democracy with the despotic rule of an oligarchic elite, cult of savage competition and increasing social injustice, suppression of national sovereignty in favor of imperial regimes. The European Union, with its single currency, represents the most advanced and dangerous attempt put in place by these oligarchic elites. The European Union irreversible crisis pushes the dominant classes to sharpen the austeritarian and anti-people policies. There is no way to reform this reactionary and imperialist Union. It must be dismantled, supporting all the social emancipation movements. Our Coordination is considered a place to discuss possible alternatives to globalization and to the E

Your vote for Jill Stein is not a wasted vote

“ There are differences between the two candidates and the parties. But those differences aren’t enough to save your job.” by Kevin Gosztola When Jill Stein ran as the Green Party’s presidential nominee in 2012, media attention to her candidacy was rare. Now, with two of the most unpopular presidential candidates in history, she has received widespread attention. There seems to be record interest in third party campaigns, including Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. The Nation published a debate between Socialist Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant and Nation contributor Joshua Holland. The editors gave Sawant’s column the negative headline—”Don’t Waste Your Vote On the Corporate Agenda—Vote for Jill Stein and the Greens”—but column does not hinge on loathing Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Rather, it makes a positive case for supporting Stein by primarily arguing the need for progressives to build an alternative to the two pro-capital

Άλλο ένα δείγμα παρακμής της "θαυμαστής" Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης

Journey to Aleppo: exposing the truth buried under NATO propaganda

The Syrian people are suffering under the ‘moderate rebels’ and ‘opposition forces’ backed by the US, NATO member states and their allies in the Gulf states and Israel. Yet their suffering is largely ignored in the mainstream media unless it furthers the agenda dictated by the State Department. This article is the first in a two-part series of one Western journalist’s journey to Aleppo, a city ravaged by an insurgency supported by the United States, NATO member states, and their allies in the Gulf states and Israel. In Part I, Vanessa Beeley lays out the mainstream narrative on Syria, revealing a neoconservative agenda promoted by NATO-funded NGOs. These NGOs paint the destruction of the historic city as being caused by the Syrian government under Bashar Assad, not the violent armed insurgents which receive arms, funding and training from Western governments and their allies. The assassination of Orlando Letelier and the politics of silence

by Jon Schwarz Forty years ago last night, agents working for the Chilean secret service attached plastic explosives to the bottom of Orlando Letelier’s Chevrolet as it sat in the driveway of his family’s home in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. A few blocks away across Massachusetts Avenue my family’s Pinto sat in our driveway unmolested. Our whole neighborhood, including my mother and father and sister and me, slept through everything. Forty years ago this morning, the Chilean agents followed Letelier as he drove himself into Washington, down Massachusetts to the think tank where he worked. The bomb went off as Letelier went around Sheridan Circle, ripping off most of the lower half of his body. He died shortly afterward, as did Ronni Moffitt, a 25-year-old American who’d been in the car with him. A second passenger, Moffitt’s husband Michael, survived. Letelier’s murder was ordered by the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, who’d o

Snowden warns new Google app will aid 'Big Brother'

U.S. National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden has criticized Google's new messaging application, saying it is a breach of privacy and will track everything that users will say. The technology giant launched its new so called “smart chat” application, Allo, on Wednesday, promising more intelligent text conversation features, including auto-reply options. Snowden, also a former CIA employee before who is now living in exile in Russia, said via Twitter that Google’s application will “ record every message you ever send and make it available to police upon request, ” adding that Allo was “dangerous” and nicknaming the application “Google Surveillance.” Snowden stressed that 100 percent of close to 1,500 surveillance requests were granted by the U.S. foreign intelligence court and that user data stored in Allo could easily be obtained too. North Carolina declares state of emergency as anger grows over latest police shootings

Authorities in Charlotte tried to quell public anger Wednesday after a police officer shot a black man, but a dusk prayer vigil turned into a second night of violence, with police firing tear gas at angry protesters and a man being critically wounded by gunfire. North Carolina’s governor declared a state of emergency in the city. The man was not shot by police who had massed in riot gear to keep the marchers outside an upscale downtown hotel, Charlotte officials announced on Twitter. City officials originally announced the man was dead but later reversed that statement and said he was on life support. The second night of violent protests added Charlotte to the list of U.S. cities that have erupted in violence over the death of a black man at the hands of police. With officials refusing to release any video of the Tuesday shooting of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott, anger built as two starkly different versions emerged: Police say Scott disregarded repeated

EU citizens depend on internal conflict interests to assert their rights

globinfo freexchange The EU parliament has been proved completely unable (and unwilling to some extent) to prevail over the lobby-occupied bureaucrats and the ECB dictatorship. So, eventually, the European Court of Justice decided to take action and actually turn against European Commission and European Central Bank. From euractiv.com : Has the troika infringed EU citizens’ fundamental rights through its insistence on austerity measures in crisis-hit countries? It’s a question that seems set to be analysed in ever greater detail and may lead to claims being made against the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission, after the ECJ ruled that citizens are entitled to sue the troika. The Luxembourg-based court’s decision was based on the banking crisis that hit Cyprus in 2013. At the time, the troika and the Cypriot government agreed to a restructuring, which involved uninsured deposits o

How video games are influencing war propaganda in Syria

The generation that grew up playing modern video games is now making media about war that reflects those influences, including in Syria, where militias are producing sophisticated propaganda films employing tropes from Western popular culture. A recent film produced by a militia group in Syria, Ahrar al-Sham, is a particularly striking symbol of this new era of conflict footage. Shot using camera-equipped drones and wearable GoPro video recorders, the 15 minute film, entitled “Rage Wind,” documents part of a recent rebel offensive against Syrian government forces near the city of Aleppo. The film traces the experience of three different Ahrar al-Sham fighters before, during, and after the battle. Employing a range of camera techniques, the filmmakers provide point of view video footage from individual fighters taking part in the battle, as well as overhead drone video showing the battlefield at large. Experts on conflict propaganda say that the animations, vid
