Protesters Stalk & Confront Israeli Minister Through NY Streets!

The Jimmy Dore Show   Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is also a convicted terrorist and Jewish supremacist, has been touring the US, speaking on college campuses and meeting with political groups, and he even traveled to Mar-a-Lago. His visit has been met with widespread protests, however. Ben Gvir was confronted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators in New Haven, Connecticut, following a speech he gave at Shabtai, a private Jewish society at Yale that’s not officially affiliated with the university. Jimmy Dore and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss how Ben-Gvir’s security detail was able to assault protesters with impunity — and that in fact police officers approach an assaulted protester to demand that he step away from Ben-Gvir’s group.

MSF: 70% of burn victims in Gaza are children, little chance of recovery

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reports a growing number of burn victims in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war amid poor health care under the total siege on the territory. The MSF warned that 70 percent of the victims have been children. “Since May 2024, MSF teams working in Nasser Hospital have provided over 1,000 surgical operations to burn patients, 70 percent of which have been children, most under the age of five,” the Geneva-based aid organization said in a statement on Friday. “Many people have extensive burns covering large portions of their bodies – some people have as much as 40 percent of their total body surface burned,” due to “bomb explosions and improvised cooking methods.” “As the Israeli authorities maintain the siege on Gaza, blocking access to basic aid, medical and life-saving supplies, many patients are left to endure excruciating pain with limited or no relief,” it added. MSF noted that its “teams have seen an increase in the number of ...

Facing Prison Time in Germany for Criticizing an Israeli Journalist: The Case of Hüseyin Dogru

by Alan Macleod  Part 1   Amid a crackdown on pro-Palestine voices in Germany, a journalist regularly attacked as a Russian operative is facing up to three years in prison for defamation of an Israel-based journalist. Hüseyin Dogru, founder of red. media , has been charged with defamation for actions relating to a spat with Nicholas Potter, a German state-funded reporter working for the Israeli outlet, The Jerusalem Post . In December, Potter, a self-styled counter-extremism expert, published a lengthy exposé in The Jerusalem Post , claiming that red. media , MintPress News , and The Grayzone were part of a network of far-left outlets promoting extremism and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Worse still, he strongly insinuated that all three were promoted and funded by the governments of Russia, Syria, and Iran.   The charges are false (see MintPress ’ rebuttal here ), and are particularly ironic, coming as they do from a journalist who is funded by the German Foreign Of...

Is US dollar dominance at risk?

Al Jazeera English   The greenback has depreciated against other major currencies since Donald Trump's inauguration in January. Investors are worried that Trump's tariffs could cause a recession in the United States, and they have rushed to the exit. Is the president bothered? Trump appears to be of two minds when it comes to his nation's currency. He wants a dominant dollar because it gives the US geopolitical leverage. But, he says, a weaker greenback spurs US manufacturing. Some economists say the president could devalue the dollar. His team has backed the idea of a "Mar-a-Lago Accord" to weaken it. BRICS countries are also decreasing their reliance on the dollar.    Related: Trump's tariffs: A unique opportunity for BRICS and the Global South to fully escape from dollar tyranny

This interview was translated by Hekmat Aboukhater.
