Syria Six Russian long-range Tu-22M3 bombers on Tuesday carried out airstrikes on Islamic State arms and ammunition depots in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The bombers took off from a Russian airfield and flew over Iraq and Iran to carry out airstrikes on a terrorist plant producing ammunition and explosives in Tel al-Salhiya, IS arms and ammunition depots, as well as areas with hardware in the Deir ez-Zor province, according to the ministry. Pakistan has for the first time successfully test-fired its surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the military press department said. The missile, called Ababeel, has a maximum range of 2,200km and “ is capable of delivering multiple warheads, using Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, ” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media branch of the Pakistani armed forces, said in a press release.
