Ευρωπαϊκός ιστορικός αναθεωρητισμός

Το ίδιο το ψήφισμα επιδίωξε να αναγάγει σε επίσημη ευρωπαϊκή θέση μια σχετικά πρόσφατη ιστορική ερμηνεία, στα όρια της λαθροχειρίας, σύμφωνα με την οποία η κήρυξη του Β' Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου ήρθε ως συνέπεια του συμφώνου μη επιθέσεως ανάμεσα στη ναζιστική Γερμανία και την ΕΣΣΔ

Το πρόσφατο ψήφισμα του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου, με τίτλο «Η σημασία της ευρωπαϊκής μνήμης για το μέλλον της Ευρώπης», ήρθε να θυμίσει ότι η μνήμη και η Ιστορία στην Ευρώπη παραμένουν διαφιλονικούμενα πεδία και μάλιστα με όρους που δεν αφορούν το παρελθόν αλλά το παρόν και το μέλλον, καταδεικνύοντας πόσο αντιφατική παραμένει η ίδια η μέχρι στιγμής ανεύρετη κοινή ευρωπαϊκή ταυτότητα. 

Το ίδιο το ψήφισμα επιδίωξε να αναγάγει σε επίσημη ευρωπαϊκή θέση μια σχετικά πρόσφατη ιστορική ερμηνεία, στα όρια της λαθροχειρίας, σύμφωνα με την οποία η κήρυξη του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου ήρθε ως συνέπεια του συμφώνου μη επιθέσεως ανάμεσα στη ναζιστική Γερμανία και την ΕΣΣΔ. Η συγκεκριμένη θέση παραβλέπει πλήρως το γεγονός ότι το ναζιστικό πρόγραμμα εξαρχής περιείχε μια επιθετική επεκτατική εδαφική πολιτική, που ήταν και ο λόγος για τον επανεξοπλισμό της Γερμανίας, ενώ διαγράφει πλήρως το γεγονός ότι ο ναζισμός όριζε τον «Εβραιομπολσεβικισμό» ως τον βασικό «υπαρξιακό» του αντίπαλο. Η ίδια η εξέλιξη του πολέμου έδειξε ότι το σύμφωνο Μολότοφ – Ρίμπεντροπ αποτελούσε τακτικό χειρισμό της ναζιστικής Γερμανίας και σε κανέναν βαθμό ένδειξη συμπόρευσης με την ΕΣΣΔ, στην οποία άλλωστε κήρυξε τον πόλεμο το 1941. 

Ολα αυτά στηρίζονται στην αναπαραγωγή του σχήματος για την ταύτιση ανάμεσα στον ναζισμό και τον κομμουνισμό. Η ταύτιση παραβλέπει το βαθύ χάσμα που χωρίζει ένα καθεστώς που συνειδητά και ρητά όρισε τη βαναυσότητα και τον εξοντωτικό ρατσισμό ως πολιτικό πρόγραμμα και πρακτική και καθεστώτα που είχαν αφετηρία ένα αίτημα ισότητας και χειραφέτησης και κατάληξη όντως τον κρατικό αυταρχισμό και τη βία.

Η παραδοχή του χάσματος προφανώς δεν σημαίνει απόπειρα συγκάλυψης της βαναυσότητας που σφράγισε τον «υπαρκτό σοσιαλισμό», από τις εκκαθαρίσεις της δεκαετίας του 1930 και επόμενων στιγμών έως τη συστηματική ποινικοποίηση της πολιτικής διαφωνίας, την αυταρχική αντιμετώπιση υπαρκτών εθνικών αιτημάτων και την επιβολή μιας ιδιαίτερα καταπιεστικής ρύθμισης της καθημερινής ζωής, συνολικά τη διάσταση τραγωδίας που χαρακτήρισε το κομμουνιστικό κίνημα. Σίγουρα η αναμέτρηση με αυτή την τραυματική μνήμη δεν μπορεί παρά να είναι αναπόσπαστο στοιχείο οποιασδήποτε εκ νέου συζήτησης για αυτό που συνηθίσαμε να ονομάζουμε σοσιαλιστική προοπτική. Ομως, δεν μπορούμε να παραβλέψουμε ότι ο κομμουνισμός ως ιδεολογία αναδύθηκε από τους αγώνες του εργατικού κινήματος, υπήρξε εκ των κληρονόμων του ριζοσπαστικού δημοκρατικού αιτήματος που ανέδειξε η νεωτερικότητα και συνδέθηκε με τους αγώνες για εθνική απελευθέρωση, απαλλαγή από την αποικιοκρατία, κοινωνική και πολιτική ισότητα.

Ο ναζισμός

Ο ναζισμός υπήρξε πάντα ιδεολογία της υποταγής στην ιεραρχία, της καθυπόταξης, της ιμπεριαλιστικής επέκτασης και τελικά της εξόντωσης ολόκληρων πληθυσμών με αποκορύφωμα το Ολοκαύτωμα. Είναι αυτή η οργανική σύνδεση ανάμεσα σε ναζιστική ιδεολογία και πρακτική που διαγράφεται στην εύκολη εξίσωση του ναζισμού και του κομμουνισμού.

Ακόμη χειρότερα μια τέτοια προσέγγιση ενέχει τον κίνδυνο να οδηγήσει στη συσκότιση της φύσης του ναζισμού. Η απλή κατάταξή του στη χορεία του «ολοκληρωτισμού» αποσιωπά το γεγονός ότι ο ναζισμός εκπροσώπησε και τη σκοτεινή πλευρά της αστικής νεωτερικότητας. Η απουσία αμφισβήτησης των καπιταλιστικών κοινωνικών σχέσεων, που εξηγεί και τη στήριξη που έλαβε από τη γερμανική οικονομική ολιγαρχία, η διάλυση πρώτα και κύρια των οργανώσεων της εργαζομένων, η προβολή του εθνικισμού, η ίδια η κεντρικότητα του ρατσισμού ως κρατικής ιδεολογίας συντονίζονταν με πολιτικές και ιδεολογίες και άλλων αστικών ρευμάτων σε μια περίοδο βαθιάς πολιτικής κρίσης και αποτελούν πλευρές που εξηγούν την άνοδο του ναζισμού στην εξουσία και φωτίζουν το βάθος της βαναυσότητάς του.

Μια τέτοια ισοπεδωτική εξίσωση ενέχει τον κίνδυνο να οδηγήσει σε ακόμη πιο επικίνδυνες αναθεωρήσεις της Ιστορίας. Εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια ο ιστορικός αναθεωρητισμός καλλιεργεί τη θέση ότι ο μεγάλος ένοχος του 20ού αιώνα ήταν ο κομμουνισμός και ότι ο ναζισμός ήταν ουσιαστικά μια απόπειρα ανακοπής της «κομμουνιστικής επέλασης» που παρέκκλινε της πορείας της. Αλλωστε, η καθαγίαση του ναζιστικού αντικομμουνισμού αποτελεί και τη βασική δικαιολογία εκείνων που διεκδικούν την αναδρομική δικαίωση όσων σε διάφορες χώρες επέλεξαν να συνεργαστούν με τις ναζιστικές δυνάμεις κατοχής ή ακόμη και να πολεμήσουν στο πλευρό τους.

Το γεγονός ότι σήμερα στην Ευρώπη αρχίζει και αναδύεται ως «κοινή ευρωπαϊκή ταυτότητα» ένας νεοφιλελευθερισμός που επικαλείται τελετουργικά τη δημοκρατία, αλλά παράλληλα την υπονομεύει καθημερινά αναγορεύοντας τις αγορές και τους δημοσιονομικούς κανόνες σε υπέρτατο κριτήριο, την ώρα που δεν διστάζει να παράγει ιστορικές μυθολογίες, αποτελεί ένα ακόμη σημάδι της βαθιάς κρίσης του «ευρωπαϊκού οικοδομήματος».

Η Ιστορία δεν ξαναγράφεται

Ομως, παρότι η ιστορική ερμηνεία είναι ένα παλίμψηστο, η Ιστορία δεν ξαναγράφεται. Χωρίς το Στάλινγκραντ, την αντίσταση του Λένινγκραντ, τη μάχη του Κουρσκ, τη μάχη του Βερολίνου η εξέλιξη του πολέμου δεν θα ήταν η ίδια, καταδεικνύοντας την υπαρκτή συμβολή της ΕΣΣΔ στην ήττα του ναζισμού, πληρώνοντας βαρύ φόρο αίματος. Το ίδιο και ο πρωτοπόρος ρόλος που έπαιξαν τα κομμουνιστικά κόμματα και οργανώσεις στην οργάνωση των μεγάλων κινημάτων αντίστασης σε όλη την κατεχόμενη Ευρώπη.
