President Goulart was overthrown in a military coup which began 4 days later. A brutal US-backed military dictatorship was installed and ruled for the next 21 years. The Grayzone The Grayzone 's Max Blumenthal interviews Mohammad Al-Bukhaiti, a senior member of Ansarulah's political bureau and governor of the Yemeni province of Dhamar, about the Yemeni Armed Forces' war with Saudi Arabia and its successful advances across Yemeni territory previously controlled by its Saudi-backed rivals. Speaking on October 20, 2026, Al-Bukhaiti confirmed that the Ansarulah-aligned Yemeni Armed Forces captured Mount Han overlooking the strategically significant city of Taiz.  This marks the latest advance in a military offensive that has seen Ansarulah, known popularly as the Houthis, seize new territory and hammer Saudi Arabia following the collapse of a four  year ceasefire between Sanaa and Riyadh.  Ansarulah's success seems to have the House of Saud on the ropes, with Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman calling on the UK, Egypt, Syria and possibly even Israel for help in beating back the onslaught. Times Of India Iran-linked hacking group Handala has released footage it claims was recorded inside a high-security Israel Defense Forces (IDF) military facility, alleging that its infiltrators gained access to sensitive areas, including military headquarters and meeting rooms. The videos appear to show armoured vehicles, Israeli soldiers and a barracks containing weapons.  Handala has also mocked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over what it describes as security failures and threatened to release more footage and files. The latest claims follow the group’s October 18 announcement of a cyber operation targeting an Israeli military unit responsible for media intelligence monitoring and analysis. Handala claims to have published more than 500 classified documents and tens of thousands of internal messages. The group has also previously released images it said belonged to Israeli security personnel.
