Meanwhile, the US military has killed innocent people in boats in the Caribbean, including citizens of Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago. Ben Norton reports.  

Cross World News   Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announces the full activation of the nation’s defense plan across all 23 states amid escalating tensions with the United States. The video shows large-scale military drills, troop mobilizations near Colombia, and nationwide militia training. As U.S. naval forces patrol the Caribbean, both Washington and Caracas trade sharp warnings — pushing Venezuela’s “Plan Bolivar 2025” to the center of a dangerous geopolitical standoff.

The Jimmy Dore Show   Since the Gaza ceasefire was announced, reports have been coming out describing the treatment of Israeli prisoners of wars (typically called “hostages”) and Palestinian detainees, focusing on conflicting narratives in international media. Those released on both sides have alleged torture, but the maimed bodies of released Palestinian corpses suggest particularly brutal treatment. CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour was forced to make an on-air apology after commenting about relative conditions faced by captives, which prompted debate over media bias and self-censorship. Jimmy Dore and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger use this moment to critique Western media coverage of the Israel–Hamas conflict and its framing of humanitarian suffering on both sides.

China has reached a major milestone in offshore energy infrastructure, with the total subsea pipeline network now exceeding 10,000km (6,213 miles), as the country accelerates efforts to explore offshore resources to meet its energy-security needs. The milestone was achieved as the final section of a deep-sea pipeline was installed on Sunday in northern China’s Bohai Bay, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
