Επιστροφή σε μια φεουδαρχική Ευρώπη

Είναι απαραίτητες οι οικονομικές πολιτικές για να συνεχίσει να διατηρείται το ευρώ συμβατό με τη δημοκρατία; Η δημόσια ραδιοτηλεόραση της Ελλάδας ιδρύθηκε μετά την πτώση της στρατιωτικής δικτατορίας. Τον περασμένο μήνα η Ελληνική κυβέρνηση (που εφαρμόζει τις εντολές της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης), αποφάσισε να την κλείσει, χωρίς κοινοβουλευτική εξουσιοδότηση. Πριν τα Ελληνικά δικαστήρια ακυρώσουν την απόφαση, η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή θα μπορούσε να υπενθυμίσει το πρωτόκολλο για τις δημόσιες ραδιοτηλεοπτικές υπηρεσίες κατά τη συνθήκη του Άμστερνταμ το 1997, που λέει ότι "το σύστημα των δημόσιων ραδιοτηλεοπτικών μέσων στα κράτη μέλη συνδέεται άμεσα με τις δημοκρατικές, κοινωνικές και πολιτιστικές ανάγκες κάθε κοινωνίας και στην ανάγκη διατήρησης του πλουραλισμού στα ΜΜΕ." Αντίθετα, κάλυψε τις ενέργειες της Ελληνικής κυβέρνησης, δηλώνοντας στις 12 Ιουνίου ότι το κλείσιμο "θα έπρεπε να εκληφθεί στο πλαίσιο των μεγάλων και απαραίτητων προσπαθειών των αρχών να εκσυγχρονίσουν την Ελληνική οικονομία."

Οι Ευρωπαίοι έχουν γνώση σχετικά με συνταγματικά σχέδια που επιβλήθηκαν παρά την απόρριψη τους από δημοψηφίσματα. Θυμούνται υποψηφίους που, έχοντας υποσχεθεί να επαναδιαπραγματευτούν τους όρους μιας συνθήκης, τελικά την επικυρώνουν χωρίς να αλλάξουν ούτε κόμμα. Οι Κύπριοι είδαν πρόσφατα τις καταθέσεις τους να υφαρπάζονται από την κυβέρνηση. Αλλά αυτό είναι ένα νέο ορόσημο: η ΕΕ νίπτει τας χείρας απέναντι στον αφοπλισμό του μοναδικού Ελληνικού ΜΜΕ που δεν ανήκει ακόμα στους εφοπλιστές, καθώς έτσι θα γίνει εφικτή η απόλυση 2800 εργαζομένων από τον δημόσιο τομέα, κάτι που η ΕΕ αποστρέφεται. Θα επιτρέψει επίσης στην Ελλάδα να εκπληρώσει τους στόχους για περικοπές θέσεων εργασίας. που η τρόικα επέβαλε στη χώρα, όταν το 60% των νέων ανθρώπων είναι άνεργοι.

Ο ανάρμοστος ζήλος, συμπίπτει με την δημοσίευση στα Αμερικανικά ΜΜΕ μιας εμπιστευτικής έκθεσης, στην οποία το ΔΝΤ ομολογεί ότι οι πολιτικές που εφάρμοσε στην Ελλάδα κατά τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια κατέληξαν σε "σημαντικές αποτυχίες". Τα λάθη προέκυψαν απλά από υπερβολικά αισιόδοξες προβλέψεις για την ανάπτυξη; Πιθανώς όχι. Σύμφωνα με την ερμηνεία της Wall Street Journal σχετικά με αυτό το μακροσκελές έγγραφο, το ΔΝΤ παραδέχεται ότι "μια άμεση αναδιάρθρωση [του χρέους της Ελλάδας] θα ήταν φθηνότερη για τους Ευρωπαίους φορολογούμενους, καθώς οι ιδιώτες πιστωτές αποπληρώθηκαν πλήρως για δύο χρόνια πριν το 2012, χρησιμοποιώντας τα χρήματα που δανείστηκε η Αθήνα. Έτσι το επίπεδο του χρέους της Ελλάδας παρέμεινε μη διαχειρίσιμο, αλλά τώρα το κατείχε το ΔΝΤ και οι φορολογούμενοι της ευρωζώνης αντί για τις τράπεζες και τα hedge funds"

Οι κερδοσκόποι απαλλάχθηκαν χωρίς να χάσουν ούτε ένα σεντ από τα δάνεια που έδωσαν στην Ελλάδα με αστρονομικούς τόκους. Προφανώς, μια τέτοια ικανότητα να κλέβεις τους Ευρωπαίους φορολογούμενους υπέρ των hedge funds, καθιστούν την τρόικα ικανή να κάνει τους Έλληνες να υποφέρουν. Υπάρχουν επίσης νοσοκομεία, σχολεία και πανεπιστήμια που θα μπορούσαν να κλείσουν χωρίς αντίσταση. Και όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα: μόνο μέσα από τέτοιες θυσίες η Ευρώπη θα μπορέσει να προοδεύσει θριαμβευτικά προς έναν νέο Μεσαίωνα.

    Να σου πω, θα έχει και τα θετικά του ένας νέος Μεσαίωνας. Δεν είχες βαρεθεί τον ορθολογισμό και την επιστημονική πρόοδο; Άσε που με τόσους πίθηκες να ξεπετάγονται, ίσως πούμε "και πάλι καλά" αν δεν γνωρίσουμε και σε όλο του το μεγαλείο τι πάει να πει "επιστροφή στη φύση"!

      Δυστυχώς ο ορθολογισμός στις μέρες μας έχει πάρει άλλη μορφή. Αφού η νέα τάξη πραγμάτων έχει οικειοποιηθεί την έννοια του "νέου", τον αποκαλώ νεο-ορθολογισμό. Ο νεο-ορθολογισμός λοιπόν έχει καταλήξει στο να είναι κατά βάση ανορθολογικός, πράγμα που οδηγεί τις κοινωνίες προς μια καταστροφική πορεία.

    Μάλλον ψευδο-ορθολογισμός, κρυμμένος μέσα στον κυκεώνα της βλακείας που έχει δημιουργήσει και δημιουργεί, εν μέσω του φαινομένου της υπερπληροφόρησης που ακόμα αδυνατούμε να βρούμε τρόπο να αντιμετωπίσουμε και να μετριάσουμε τις ασυμβατότητές του με τον τρόπο ζωής μας.

    Σημασία για αυτούς έχει η πρόοδος, ακόμα και αν προ-οδεύουμε προς μεγαλύτερη ασυμβατότητα με την πραγματικότητα. Αλλά τι περιμένεις όταν οι επικρατούσες οικονομικές θεωρίες, στις οποίες εμμένουμε δογματικά, αρνούνται να προσαρμοστούν ακόμα και στο απλούστατο λογικό συμπέρασμα των περιορισμένων φυσικών πόρων και συνεχίζουν να λειτουργούν βάσει της ψευδαίσθησης πως είναι ανεξάντλητοι, παρασέρνοντας επτά δισεκατομμύρια να σκέφτονται και να δρουν αναλόγως, με την υπόσχεση ότι η ανάπτυξη της τεχνολογίας θα δράσει ως απο μηχανής θεός, και μάλιστα πριν την τραγωδία.

      Έχεις απόλυτο δίκοιο. Θα μπορούσαμε να μιλήσουμε όντως για ψευδο-ορθολογισμό. Υπάρχει όμως κάτι ακόμα πιο παράδοξο από αυτό που περιγράφεις. Το γεγονός ότι οι Δυτικές κοινωνίες οδηγούνται στην εξαθλίωση στο όνομα της εξισορρόπησης, δηλαδή της ανόδου του βιοτικού επιπέδου στον τρίτο κόσμο. Στην πραγματικότητα όμως, όχι μόνο εξαντλούνται οι φυσικοί πόροι, όχι μόνο δεν βελτιώνεται το βιοτικό επίπεδο των ανθρώπων των υπανάπτυκτων και αναπτυσσόμενων χωρών, αλλά επιταγχύνεται και η μόλυνση του περιβάλλοντος και αυξάνονται τα κέρδη των μεγάλων εταιριών και τραπεζών.

      Ο ψευδο-ορθολογισμός μεταφράζεται αυτομάτως σε δείκτες ανάπτυξης και καμπύλες ευημερίας έτσι ώστε να κρύβει την ανορθολογική του βάση: το γεγονός ότι η πραγματική καθημερινότητα των ανθρώπων είναι εκ διαμέτρου αντίθετη με αυτά που δείχνουν τα νούμερα.

    Αν έχεις το στομάχι, και τη διάθεση, να παρακολουθήσεις τα δήθεν φιλελεύθερα(εξυπακούεται το δήθεν να μου πεις) και νεοφιλελευθερα ζώα στο φυσικό τους περιβάλλον, τσέκαρε το ΜπλεΜήλο εδώ. Το βρήκα τις προάλλες και προσπαθώ να αποκτήσω άποψη για το πόσο χαζός μπορεί να είναι, αλλά και να γίνει, ένας συντηρητικός. Ξέρεις, αυτό το είδος που προσπαθεί να αποφύγει την μεταβολή του χωροχρόνου!

      Έριξα μια ματιά. Ήδη μερικά ονόματα συντελεστών είναι πασίγνωστα για την φανατική προσήλωση τους στον νεοφιλελευθερισμό.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that.
