The worst-case scenario for the US general election may lead to a working class civil war

In June we wrote that various types of far-right armed groups, often self-described as "civil guard" who are Trump's paramilitary section, have now come to the front line in order to secure Trump's second term at any cost. Even if it takes a civil war.

We estimated that in the worst-case scenario, Trump loses marginally and his "brigades" take action as they are forming a loony army, driven by racism, ultra-conservative ideas and far-right extreme conspiracy theories. And therefore, they will certainly question the result of the election in that case.

Yet, another, even worse scenario as it seems, came up lately. It has been analyzed by a DNC think tank also funded by Michael Bloomberg. As axios.com reported:

A top Democratic data and analytics firm told "Axios on HBO" it's highly likely that President Trump will appear to have won — potentially in a landslide — on election night, even if he ultimately loses when all the votes are counted.

[...]

Way more Democrats will vote by mail than Republicans, due to fears of the coronavirus, and it will take days if not weeks to tally these. This means Trump, thanks to Republicans doing almost all of their voting in person, could hold big electoral college and popular vote leads on election night.

Imagine America, with its polarization and misinformation, if the vote tally swings wildly toward Joe Biden and Trump loses days later as the mail ballots are counted.

That is what this group, Hawkfish, which is funded by Michael Bloomberg and also does work for the Democratic National Committee and pro-Biden Super PACs, is warning is a very real, if not foreordained, outcome.

Indeed, this is the utter-terror scenario because there is no way that Trump and his "army" will accept the result. Kyle Kulinski almost terrified with the idea:

We have some degree of experience with this, right? Like remember the chaos that was the Iowa caucus where Bernie won the popular vote, but like state delegate elects, or whatever, somehow went to Pete [Buttigieg] and then there were questions about the app which was partially funded by Pete's campaign and he declared victory. I know how I felt in that situation as a Bernie supporter when they actually were trying to take it from us. Imagine how Trump and all Trump supporters are going to feel when it looks like they won in a landslide on election night.

As time goes by and more votes roll-in for Biden it's almost a foregone conclusion that Biden is going to win the popular vote. The question is by how many votes. But on election night it might even look like Trump won the popular vote. I really do fear what's gonna happen ... I mean we're already seeing complete social unrest tied to a variety of issues, police brutality, you know. What happens in a situation like this? The country is already on the bring of falling apart ...

Greg Palast gives an idea of how Trump's "brigades" will act:

Elections are not going to be determined on November 3rd. It's 4, 5, 6 ... 12, 13, 14, when the Boogaloo Boys and the Proud Boys start stopping the count, burning post offices because Roger Stone has told them that 100,000 ballots have been mailed in from Venezuela ...

How did the US got into this mess?

As the Left almost "evaporated" in previous decades, the capitalist class had taken over the entire political system through the neoliberal doctrine. All these decades we witnessed a culminating deterioration of the democratic institutions (in the US and the capitalist West), as the markets substituted the need for a regulative state that would work for the benefit of the many. And this idea was essentially dictated upon societies through a cultural totalitarianism.

The deterioration of the democratic institutions included the electoral fraud and gradually societies were starting to lose faith on those institutions.

So, when the neoliberal facade essentially collapsed in 2008 with the financial meltdown, the real trouble begun.

As we wrote previously, the aggressiveness of the Western investment capital, the banking cartels and the corporate monopolies, gradually generated significant centrifugal forces inside the global capitalist system. The neoliberal ideology itself enhanced these forces, as deeply in its roots lies a perception of an impossible endless growth and uninterrupted ruthless competition. These forces, both inside and outside the Western capitalist system, had started to become evident mostly from the late 90s and after, as neoliberal capitalism had already triggered major crises in Russia, South-East Asia and elsewhere.

It was a matter of time to see a major crisis, comparable to that of 1929, inside the heart of neoliberal capitalism. The big meltdown of 2007-08 in the United States fully unleashed the centrifugal forces inside the Western capitalist system, and revealed a merciless endo-capitalist war, which had been already brewing underground in previous years.

The two major events as a result of this war, were the rise of Donald Trump and the Brexit vote. Both in the motherlands of neoliberalism.

What we see now in the United States with Trump, is a counter-attack by the part of the American capital against the globalist faction. The faction that is primarily consisted by the liberal plutocracy. Therefore, as the capitalist class splits, the capitalists around Trump are now taking with them the most conservative part of the American society, as they need electoral power. They have the money and their own media network. Their first big victory was Trump in the US presidency and this explains why the liberal media attack him so hard and so frequently.

Conservative voters was a very convenient group for Trump's capitalist faction because Trump could easily turn them against immigrants and Leftists, instead of pointing out the root of the problem, which is the capitalist system itself.

At the same time, Trump cleverly personalized attacks against key figures of the liberal plutocracy. And therefore, he managed to turn voters against the globalist faction of the US capital, not the entire capitalist system. The entire conspiracy production machine of the alt-right media prepared the ground in previous years by brainwashing millions of Americans with some extreme conspiracy theories. These theories turned them against not only the liberal establishment and the Left, but also against the already degenerated democratic institutions themselves.

And naturally, the liberal establishment welcomed the attacks against the Left because the Left made some attempts to rebound and assert political power.

So, we have come now to the point where all these far-right militia groups together with a significant part of the US police force are forming this loony army of Trump defenders.

Now, put yourself in the position of an average Trump voter. With the complete collapse of the establishment's legitimacy facade, what would they think about such a scenario when they see where it comes from? Even if it's quite possible to happen, and the analysis is honest, they will think that this is just an "exercise" by the establishment to take power from Trump, even if he wins. Well, who can blame them?

All these crises of the last two decades revealed more and more clearly this merciless war among the capitalists. As these have the real power with the big money and the big media, this war not only overshadows every effort for a real alternative against the capitalist system. It even brutally crushes every attempt for a democratic revival. The rampageous bulls of capitalism are fighting each other in an arena in which democracy has now turned into dust under their violent clatters.

And under these circumstances, the capitalists won't hesitate to throw in the arena the expendable US working class. To fight on their behalf in an equally merciless civil war ...

  1. "The entire conspiracy production machine of the alt-right media prepared the ground in previous years by brainwashing millions of Americans with some extreme conspiracy theories."

Maybe you should ask instead why the MSM is owned lock stock and barrel
by only FOUR corporations...and why the MSM stopped ANY pretense of
objectivity and fact finding decades ago ? Nothing "extreme conspiracy
theories." about that at all. The CIA has PUBLICLY admitted they infiltrate
and recruit MSM members...no "conspiracy"...just cold hard fact. So if
you are still wandering why MILLIONS are following Trump maybe you
should stop the patronizing shaming language and start looking at the
reality of the complete dysfunction of that Main Stream Media that no
one I know would trust even a second on election night....

Capitalism & Genocide - Yanis Varoufakis Speech at the Gaza Tribunal, 23rd October 2025, Istanbul

Yanis Varoufakis   On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.

Israel & CIA Behind Iran Protests To Get U.S. To Attack!

The Jimmy Dore Show    As protests in Iran have heated up, western media has actively exaggerated and selectively framed the violence by using casualty figures from U.S.- and Israel-funded NGOs — all in order to build public support for another regime-change war. Former CIA officer John Kiriakou and guest Scott Ritter claim protests were infiltrated by foreign intelligence networks and that Israel and the U.S. are using “human rights” narratives similarly to the way they were used in Iraq and Syria.   Dore and Ritter contend that Iran’s government responded to armed unrest rather than peaceful protest, while mainstream outlets ignore attacks on police and public infrastructure. They warn that propaganda, sanctions, and media coordination are laying the groundwork for a wider U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events. The following is a brief response to Ellsberg’s main points from someone who lives in Nicaragua and has observed the situation directly and intimately: https://grayzoneproject.com/2018/08/15/a-res...

Jeffrey Sachs: The US is a violent regime

CGTN   Shortly after US President Donald Trump announced on social media that American forces had carried out military actions against Venezuela, President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were forcibly taken to New York City to face US charges including narco-trafficking. Speaking with CGTN's Tian Wei, Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs warned that such actions reflect a broader pattern of militarized US foreign policy. By sidelining international law and disregarding the UN Charter, Washington is undermining the very framework meant to safeguard global peace and prevent another era of devastating wars.

The real reason Trump hesitates to strike Iran

globinfo freexchange   Recent statements by the Iranian leadership concerning the ability of Iran to hit US military bases, should not be taken lightly. It is not just the missile capability and - in some cases - even superiority of Iran in the broader region. That alone, would not be enough for Washington to take Tehran's threats seriously.    It has to do also with a strategic move by Iran in the geopolitical battlefield that changes the balance decisively in the war field too. As Pakistan Today reported back in July 2025:   In two recent wars that nearly tipped the world into a full-scale global conflict— one between Pakistan and India, and the other between Iran and Israel— a new determinant of military dominance emerged. In both cases, countries under pressure, Pakistan and Iran, not only stood their ground but struck deep into enemy territory with astonishing precision and devastating impact.  ... in a 12-day war with Israel, Iran destroyed numerous h...
