US imperialists sacrifice their European branch on the altar of their proxy war against Russia in Ukraine

To arm the nazis and destroy Ukraine by dragging the country into a war with Russia wasn't enough for the ruthless US imperialists. They had to throw into the arena the entire Europe.

Yet, apart from a few - highly uncertain - successes so far, (coming from one of its most dirty proxy wars), the declining US empire discovers that it has to pay a huge price, just only to challenge the rise of its global rivals.

It appears that, so far, the US imperialists are close to fulfill two of their key goals.

First, to lure Sweden and Finland into the NATO trap. A move that could be proved disastrous for two of the most prosperous and advanced European countries, whose achievements materialized (to a high degree) due to decades of neutrality.

Second, to force Russia into a long attrition war with Ukraine. Since already 2014, we wrote that the US imperialists wanted to challenge Putin in order to drag Russia in an endless attrition war in East Ukraine and this explains to a degree Putin's hesitation to act like he did in Crimea. Against Russian army, of course, the West will not risk to put an organized military force, but only teams of mercenaries of private armies, as already did.

These two goals were clearly described (among others) in a 2019 report by the top US think tank, RAND Corporation, as has been shown in previous article.

However, although Putin indeed appears to be stuck in a bloody war (longer than he had probably predicted), the damage for Russia is not as serious as the US imperialists wanted, as it seems. Putin appeared to be ready for the consequences and it looks like he was prepared for such a war, probably since at least 2014.

Since at least 2014, Russia, China and other countries of the global south intensified efforts to decouple their economies from the petro-dollar and co-operate to establish an alternative system of transactions. Some of them considered even the possibility to create state cryptocurrencies.

And the fact that Russia and China were preparing ground for an alternative to Dollar currency system of transactions (for at least a decade), can be seen also in the case of Saudi Arabia, a long-time Anglo-American ally. This year, the Saudis considered the possibility to accept Yuan instead of Dollar for Chinese oil sales.

It is certain that the US imperialists and their Western allies deeply underestimated Russia's ability to withstand repeated waves of heavy sanctions. In fact, the overuse of sanction policy against Russia and other countries who resisted US imperialism in previous years, pushed them to seek alternatives and co-operate with each other. Which means that the US and its European pets were shooting their own legs with their stupid policy, not just since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but since at least a decade ago.

The out-of-touch Western clowns seriously hoped that most of the countries would join them in their crusade against Russia, only to find that China, India and almost the entire global south refused to obey to this imperial mandate. This is a strong indication for the fact that the US imperialists and their allies have taken a divorce from reality, as they expected the countries that suffered from their sanctions and colonialism in previous years to follow them against Russia unquestionably.

As a result, Russia closed more energy deals with various countries, among them the two most populous, who are thirsty for energy resources to cover their rapidly rising energy needs.

Additionally, the Ruble became stronger and Russia is playing cat and mouse with the EU, demonstrating that it could throw Germany and most of Europe into an unprecedented energy crisis ahead of the coming winter. Which is another indication of how much the below-average European leaders have taken divorce from reality. They were seriously believing that they could decouple Europe from Russian gas quite easily and replace it with other sources in almost no time. As if it is that simple.

And that's partly because their US "friends" assured them that they would cover most of the Russian gas with much more expensive US LNG. The level of naivety of European "leaders" is really mind blowing.

The frenzy US imperialism is out of control and US imperialists will not hesitate to sacrifice their European allies in their effort to bring Russia to its knees. And as in the process they find it harder and harder to achieve, they become more unstable, ruthless and paranoid. To the point that they could even risk a WWIII with incalculable consequences for the entire planet.

Capitalism & Genocide - Yanis Varoufakis Speech at the Gaza Tribunal, 23rd October 2025, Istanbul

Yanis Varoufakis   On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.

Stephen Hawking confirms: The problem is Capitalism, not robots!

globinfo freexchange According to world famous physicist Stephen Hawking, the rising use of automated machines may mean the end of human rights – not just jobs. But he’s not talking about robots with artificial intelligence taking over the world, he’s talking about the current capitalist political system and its major players. On Reddit, Hawking said that the economic gap between the rich and the poor will continue to grow as more jobs are automated by machines, and the owners of said machines hoard them to create more wealth for themselves. The insatiable thirst for capitalist accumulation bestowed upon humans by years of lies and terrible economic policy has affected technology in such a way that one of its major goals has become to replace human jobs. If we do not take this warning seriously, we may face unfathomable corporate domination. If we let the same people who buy and sell our political system and resources maintain control of automated technology, the...

The dominant elite ready to break the "social contract"

Hyper-automation will allow the super-rich to “get rid” of the rest by system failure Since the French revolution and the new form of the urban states-democracies, the ruling class had to make the so-called "social contract" with the majority. From the moment that the dominant urban class took the power from feudalism and monarchy, should had to find a way to protect the means of production and the labor force. Therefore, the ethnic consciousness in each state served to bound the majority in order to shape national armies to protect the ruling class interests. In exchange, the ruling urban class had given the so-called social state, labor rights, etc., through the nation-state as a carrier and guarantor for all these benefits for the middle and lower classes. Since then, there have been a lot of battles and the majority managed to conquer some benefits. At the start of 20th century, the technology progress had brought the mass production. Western s...

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events. The following is a brief response to Ellsberg’s main points from someone who lives in Nicaragua and has observed the situation directly and intimately: https://grayzoneproject.com/2018/08/15/a-res...

Iran could be the US’s Boer war: a hollow victory that marks the beginning of the end of empire

US leaders anticipated a walkover. Now they’re embroiled in a conflict that could hasten the end of US economic dominance  by Larry Elliott   Nobody gave the Boers a prayer when the war in South Africa began in 1899. It was farmers ranged against the might of the British empire, and the expectation was that resistance would quickly crumble. Eventually, might did prevail. Britain won the Boer war, but it was a hollow victory that took the best part of three years to achieve and came at a high cost. The blow to British prestige – coming at a time when its global hegemony was under threat from fast-growing countries such as the US – was severe. Far from highlighting the extent of Britain’s power, it exposed its limitations. A century and a quarter later, the US risks being embroiled in its equivalent of the Boer war. What should have been a walkover threatens to become a prolonged conflict. The Iranians are using guerrilla tactics, just as the Boers did, with much success. There ...

Greeks BLOCK Israelis From Entering Their Country

Revolutionary Change   In a continuing worldwide trend, Greeks are now attempting to block Israelis from entering their country amid them attempting to flee the consequences of their actions. Peter Hager delves into this recent trend.

Self-management societies vs anarcho-capitalism: The new global war of ideologies?

by system failure The last global economic crisis has brought the Left as well as the extreme nationalism in the front line. The rise of the Left in Greece and elsewhere came as an answer to the corrosion of the European Socialism and its absorption from neoliberalism. Current government coalition in Greece consisting from the two parties in power for the last 40 years, the right-wing, now neoliberal, party Nea Dimokratia and the "Socialist" party PASOK, is the best proof of this fact. Despite the fact that the rise of the Left and extreme nationalism creates a new front of intense ideological conflict, this is not something which prevents the dissolving of the old ideological lines. Therefore, we are now in a period where the old ideological lines are blurring, and various conflicts cannot prevent this fact. This is something which has to do mainly with the fail of the Left to construct a new autonomous language relieved from capitalistic terms, and the full capitu...
