Professor of film and media studies at UC Irvine and author of Virtue Hoarders: the Case Against the Professional Managerial Class, Catherine Liu @CLiuAnon‬, joins Ileana Chan for episode 27 of Global Majority for Peace. 

In this episode, Catherine unpacks the PMC’s role in supporting US-led imperialism, from its cultural dominance to its complicity in the global neoliberal agenda. She delves into class dynamics, the myths of meritocracy, and how these systems perpetuate inequality and imperialist policies. 

From the US’s interventions in the Global South to its foreign policy strategies in China and Russia, this conversation sheds light on how the PMC manufactures consent for the neoliberal and anti-working-class agenda.
