Οι ελεύθεροι σκοπευτές του Ισραήλ έχουν εντολή όταν πυροβολούν παιδιά

Ισραηλινός στρατηγός επιβεβαιώνει ότι οι ελεύθεροι σκοπευτές που πυροβολούν παιδιά στα σύνορα του Ισραήλ με τη Γάζα το κάνουν σκόπιμα, ακολουθώντας συγκεκριμένες και σαφείς εντολές.

Την περασμένη Παρασκευή ο 14χρονος Muhammad Ibrahim Ayyoub έπεσε νεκρός από τα πυρά ισραηλινού ελεύθερου σκοπευτή. Όπως επιβεβαιώνουν αυτόπτες μάρτυρες και οπτικοακουστικό υλικό, ο Muhammad Ibrahim Ayyoub δεν θα μπορούσε με κανένα τρόπο να έχει φανεί επικίνδυνος για τους βαριά οπλισμένους Ισραηλινούς στρατιώτες που βρίσκονταν δεκάδες μέτρα μακριά, πίσω από περιφράξεις και οχυρώματα. Παρ’όλα αυτά, τα ισραηλινά πυρά τον χτύπησαν στο κεφάλι.

Είναι το τέταρτο παιδί που χάνει τη ζωή του στο πλαίσιο της «Μεγάλης Πορείας της Επιστροφής» που ξεκίνησε στις 30 Μαρτίου. Συνολικά πάνω από 1600 Παλαιστίνιοι έχουν χτυπηθεί από ισραηλινά πυρά που προκαλούν πολύ σοβαρούς τραυματισμούς, μόνιμη αναπηρία και θάνατο.

Σε ραδιοφωνική συνέντευξη (που μεταφράστηκε από το Electronic Intifada) στον ισραηλινό κρατικό σταθμό Kan, ο Zvika Fogel, πρώην αρχηγός της Νοτίου Διοίκησης, που περιλαμβάνει και την κατεχόμενη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, περιγράφει πώς ένας ελεύθερος σκοπευτής αναγνωρίζει το «μικρό σώμα» ενός παιδιού και παίρνει την άδεια να το πυροβολήσει.

Ο δημοσιογράφος Ron Nesiel ρωτά αν ο ισραηλινός στρατός θα έπρεπε να αναθεωρήσει τη χρήση ελεύθερων σκοπευτών και ο Fogel υποστηρίζει τις πρακτικές:

«Σε στρατηγικό επίπεδο, κάθε άτομο που πλησιάζει την περίφραξη, κάθε ένας που θα μπορούσε να θεωρηθεί μελλοντικός κίνδυνος για τα σύνορα του ισραηλινού κράτους και των κατοίκων του, θα πρέπει να υποστεί τις συνέπειες αυτής της παράβασης».

Και συνεχίζει: «Αν αυτό το παιδί ή οποιοσδήποτε άλλος πλησιάζει την περίφραξη για να τοποθετήσει έναν εκρηκτικό μηχανισμό, να ελέγξει αν υπάρχουν νεκρές ζώνες ή για να καταστρέψει την περίφραξη ώστε να μπορεί κάποιος να περάσει στα ισραηλινά εδάφη για να μας σκοτώσει…»

«Και η τιμωρία του είναι ο θάνατος;» παρεμβαίνει ο δημοσιογράφος.

«Η τιμωρία του είναι ο θάνατος» απαντά ο στρατηγός. «Αν μπορείς να πετύχεις μόνο το πόδι του ή το χέρι του για να τον σταματήσεις, εντάξει. Αλλά αν χρειάζεται κάτι περισσότερο από αυτό, ναι».

Έπειτα περιγράφει τη διαδικασία με την οποία αναγνωρίζονται και πυροβολούνται οι στόχοι -ανάμεσα στους οποίους και παιδια: «Ξέρω πώς δίνονται αυτές οι εντολές. Ξέρω πώς πυροβολεί ένας ελεύθερος σκοπευτής και πόσες άδειες χρειάζεται πριν από την τελική εντολή να ανοίξει πυρ. Δεν είναι μια απόφαση της στιγμής του ενός ή του άλλου ελεύθερου σκοπευτή που αναγνωρίζει το μικρό σώμα ενός παιδιού και αποφασίζει να το πυροβολήσει. Κάποιος εντοπίζει το στόχο για αυτόν, του εξηγεί για ποιο λόγο ακριβώς πρέπει να πυροβολήσει και ποιος είναι ο κίνδυνος που υπάρχει από το συγκεκριμένο άτομο. Και, προς μεγάλη μου λύπη, κάποιες φορές που πυροβολείς ένα μικρό σώμα με σκοπό να πετύχεις το χέρι ή τον ώμο του, πηγαίνει ψηλότερα».

Οι δηλώσεις του Fogel θα μπορούσαν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ως τεκμήρια, αν ποτέ οι ηγέτες του Ισραήλ καλούνταν να απολογηθούν για εγκλήματα πολέμου στο Διεθνές Ποινικό Δικαστήριο.
