It's now or never: the first step for a Sanders/Corbyn synchronization in power must be done on 12 December in UK

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the global working class

by system failure

Two years ago, we wondered whether a US government under Bernie Sanders, together with a UK government under Jeremy Corbyn, could mark a decisive victory against neoliberalism. Whether it could mark the beginning of the end of the Reagan/Thatcher awful legacy.

It seems that the time has come for the first step towards this prospect.

The oncoming UK general election on Thursday 12 December 2019, will be the most critical for decades, especially for the global working class. The outcome will determine to a significant degree, whether the capitalist West will change course away from the destructive neoliberalism, towards a form of Democratic Socialism. A new model that will resurrect the social state, while at the same time, will seriously deal with the great environmental challenges, defying big interests and rejecting the for-profit-wars model.

As we already pointed out, the whole Brexit issue is primarily the product of a merciless war among rival factions of the British capital. For now, it seems that the political balance of power is being shaped as follows:

- The Conservative party under Boris Johnson, almost fully represents the interests of the pro-Brexit faction of the British capital, especially after Johnson's purge operation of all the Remainers from the party. Its primary goal is to implement a Thatcherian type of neoliberalism, which will be completely independent from the EU neoliberal directorate.

- The Liberal Democrats is all what is left from the political power of the City/CBI anti-Brexit capitalist faction. They will seek for more political gains in the election, in order to become part of a potential coalition government. Their goal is to resurrect the neoliberal center, defend the neoliberal agenda under the EU authority.

- The Labour party under the Corbyn leadership attempts a progressive transformation to the Left, away from the neoliberal center. Any Blairite remnants inside the party, will attempt to undermine Corbyn and drag the party towards a destructive coalition with the Liberal Democrats, if necessary.

It is obvious that, for the moment, only the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn represents the interests of the British working class.

Therefore, despite the capitalist civil war, both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats naturally identify the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn as their common political enemy. Consequently, as we already mentioned, the pro-Brexit capitalist faction sees a potential Labour government under Jeremy Corbyn, also as a major threat. This is one of the few common views it has with the globalist faction.

From all the above, we can conclude that one probable scenario after the oncoming election would be a repeat of the 2010-2015 coalition between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats in order to confront the Leftist 'threat'.

Therefore, it is vital for the British working class to massively vote Labour in order to give enough power to the party, permitting Jeremy Corbyn to form an autonomous government. Then, it will be much easier for Corbyn to get rid of the Blairite faction and start implementing his Socialist agenda.

As we also wrote, a Labour government under the Corbyn leadership after Brexit will be much more flexible to apply progressive policies that will benefit most of the Britons. Of course, with UK's power structure and the elites still in an advantageous position - after decades of policies that limited the power of state institutions - it will not be a piece of cake. Yet, without the additional tight scrutiny of the EU neoliberal beast, it will be much easier.

As the UK election precedes the US election, a Corbyn government will have almost a year-time to exhibit some first results. These will come through Socialist policies that will significantly improve the lives of millions of Britons. This could be proved extremely critical because it will send the suitable signals to millions of moderate US voters, who will understand that only an anti-establishment Leftist candidate could bring real change. And, luckily, they now have their own. It's called Bernie Sanders.

A Sanders/Corbyn synchronization in power in the motherlands of neoliberalism could be proved historically important for a Socialist turn of the entire capitalist West, through a political domino effect. And the timing looks perfect for a global turn too. People in Latin America rise up against neoliberal tyranny, especially in Chile, the first lab-rat of neoliberalism. And we already see again a Leftist political turn in Argentina, while Venezuela and Bolivia successfully resist the imperialist onslaught.

Last year, Jeremy Corbyn already sent the first clear message: "We are in touch with Bernie Sanders and his campaign."

It seems that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the global working class. And that's why the wounded neoliberal beast will mobilize all its weaponry to prevent it.
