Mega, όπως πάντα. Μια εθνική ιστορική αλήθεια.

Mega, όπως πάντα, που λέει πολύ εύστοχα και το κεντρικό σύνθημα του σταθμού στην καμπάνια που πραγματοποιεί με αφορμή την επιστροφή του στους τηλεοπτικούς μας δέκτες. "Όπως πάντα", σε μπλε, γαλάζιο και κόκκινο φόντο. Ενδεχομένως να υπάρχει κάποια πολιτική σημειολογία, ίσως πάλι και όχι.

Έχει δίκιο το Mega. Ό,τι συμβαίνει πάντα στην Ελλάδα, συνέβη και τώρα. Ένας πτωχευμένος τηλεοπτικός σταθμός, με συνολικές οφειλές σε τράπεζες, δημόσιο, συνεργάτες και εργαζόμενους πάνω από 150 εκατομμύρια ευρώ, εξαγοράσθηκε επί της ουσίας καθαρός από χρέη με μόλις 35 εκατομμύρια. Ήτοι, με λιγότερα από το 1/4 των χρωστούμενων. Για τα υπόλοιπα έχει ο θεός, η μάλλον ακριβέστερα, έχει ο... λαός. 

Σε μια μακρά διαδρομή μέχρι και την τελική του επιστροφή όπου οι πρώην και νυν μέτοχοι έβαζαν μπροστά τους απλήρωτους εργαζόμενους όταν έπρεπε να διαπραγματευτούν με τους πιστωτές και να καταγγείλουν τη διαδικασία της αδειοδότησης, αλλά τους πέταγαν πίσω όταν έπρεπε να βάλουν το χέρι στην τσέπη, το μεγάλο κανάλι, όπως μας επισήμανε στο πρωινό μαγκαζίνο και ο Υπουργός Υποδομών, Κώστας Καραμανλής, εκπροσωπούσε μεταξύ άλλων και την κανονικότητα. Αφού η επιστροφή του σηματοδοτεί και την επιστροφή σε αυτήν.

Σε μια εποχή που τα τηλεοπτικά έσοδα δε θα αυξάνονται δα και χρόνο με τον χρόνο, αφού τα δυναμικά κοινά έχουν στραφεί για την ενημέρωση και την ψυχαγωγία τους σχεδόν αποκλειστικά στο διαδίκτυο, κανένας δε μας εγγυάται ότι το Mega αλλά και τα υπόλοιπα κανάλια δε θα συνεχίσουν να παράγουν χρέη. Ήδη οι μεγάλες εταιρίες, τα κορυφαία media shops και οι διαφημιστικές αυξάνουν σταδιακά το ποσοστό που ξοδεύουν συνολικά για διαφήμιση στις διαδικτυακές πηγές. Στον βαθμό ωστόσο που τα κανάλια επηρεάζουν ακόμα μια κρίσιμη μάζα ψηφοφόρων και γίνονται έτσι εργαλεία εξουσίας και διαπραγμάτευσης για τα αφεντικά τους, θα έχουμε όπως πάντα, τηλεοπτικές επιχειρήσεις που θα φορτώνουν χρέη στις πλάτες τρίτων και θα παρέχουν συγκεκριμένα οφέλη στους μετόχους τους.

Να περιμένουμε να δούμε και την ποιότητα των ενημερωτικών υπηρεσιών που θα προσφέρει το κανάλι; Πιστεύει κανείς ότι το Mega επέστρεψε για να ελέγξει την εξουσία και το τραπεζικό σύστημα; Ούτε ο πιο αφελής.

Μήπως αποζημιώσει τα 115 εκατομμύρια ευρώ που φόρτωσε ως φούσκα στο κράτος και την αγορά μέσω της καλής του μυθοπλασίας; Ασύμφορο για τις τσέπες μας πάντως. Κοστίζει πολύ λιγότερα στην πραγματικότητα. 

Και αφού αυτή η κανονικότητα επιβάλει την περικοπή χρεών στο 1/4 της οφειλής για το Mega, να φανταστούμε ότι το ίδιο θα ισχύσει και για τους χιλιάδες δανειολήπτες που σύντομα θα βρεθούν απέναντι στον κίνδυνο να χάσουν την πρώτη τους κατοικία; Θα μπορούν εν ολίγοις οι άνθρωποι να πηγαίνουν στα δικαστήρια και επικαλούμενοι την περίπτωση του Mega και το "όπως πάντα" του, να μειώνουν κατά 400% το χρέος τους; Ή αυτό συνιστά ανωμαλία;  

Για την ώρα καλωσορίζουμε το μεγάλο κανάλι. Ξεκίνησε άλλωστε με μια εθνική και ιστορική αλήθεια. "Όπως πάντα".

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events.
