Elle Hardy, author of Beyond Belief: How Pentecostal Christianity Is Taking Over The World, on the new form of Christianity that has links to the rise of Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump. She discusses the fundamentals of Pentecostalism which she calls ‘Born Again+’ and what makes it differ from the more traditional branches of Christianity such as Catholicism and Protestantism, why the religion is growing rapidly across the world and why it has a strong appeal, its origins in the dirty wars of the 1970s that the United States was involved in in Latin America and much more.
