Prof. Kehinde Andrews, author of The New Age of Empire: How Racism and Colonialism Still Rule The World, discusses how the Queen and the British royal family are the ‘premier symbol’ of white supremacy, the racist worldview surrounding enlightenment thinking and how it brought genocide and colonialism to the doors of people of colour around the world, the suffering of people of colour being integral to the industrial revolution and the absence of this history from western curriculums, how the same forces of colonialism and racism still dominate the world today and much more.
Yanis Varoufakis On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.
