It was Mark Zuckerberg this time that decided to change camp in the capitalist civil war, in order to join the Musk-led oligarchy under the oncoming presidency of oligarchy's puppet.
The move by Meta to end its third-party fact-checking program and move to a so-called community notes model, has been justifiably widely interpreted as an attempt by Zuckerberg to ingratiate himself with the incoming Trump administration, which has long denounced the moderation policy as censorship with a left-wing bias.
From the first moments in his interview with Joe Rogan, Zuckerberg attempted to justify his previous policy regarding censorship practices in Facebook, claiming that he was receiving high pressure from the Democratic party to do so! The ex-liberal billionaire oligarch made an impressive 180 degrees turn, claiming that he knew that there was something wrong with the specific policy and that he tried to fight back against the pressure to implement it.
Well, we didn't have to wait too long to discover what Zuckerberg will demand from Trump administration (for a start), as a reward for his decision to abandon the liberal plutocratic club and join the alt-right one. As Politico reported:
The U.S. government under incoming President Donald Trump should intervene to stop the EU from fining American tech companies for breaching antitrust rules and committing other violations, Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said late Friday.
"I think it's a strategic advantage for the United States that we have a lot of the strongest companies in the world, and I think it should be part of the U.S. strategy going forward to defend that," Zuckerberg said during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
"And it's one of the things that I'm optimistic about with President Trump," he added. The U.S. president-elect appeared on the same program on the eve of November's American presidential election and cited Rogan's endorsement as a factor in his support among voters. "I think he just wants America to win," Zuckerberg said about Trump.
Obviously, Zuckerberg realized that to protect and expand his oligarchic power, he should join the Musk-led capitalist faction under the Trump presidency. Especially now that Musk owns one of the most popular social media platform and actually plays in Zuckerberg's court. Instead of risking an all-out war with Musk, Zuckerberg moved towards an alliance with him.
For those who are still naive enough to believe that capitalists' actions are driven by some higher principles, we dedicate the following paragraph inside an article written by the blog, four years ago:
We need to understand that this civil war between the capitalist
factions does not come out of any substantially different ideological or
political approach. Essentially, it's only a tough bargain. Capitalists
just pick sides to negotiate terms and secure their position in the
post-capitalist era, which already looks like a kind of 21st century
corporate feudalism.
Do you get it now?
He was always on board. This has come at a time when Trump is going to be spouting endless amounts of bull. That's why they want rid of the fact checking. That side are going to be trying to spread as much hate and trouble across the world as possible. They want to force certain things to happen.
