A possible annexation of Greenland by the US under Trump regime, will essentially mark the dissolution of NATO alliance. Assuming that the creepy orange clown is not particularly interested to secure the unity of NATO, such a development will not stop him to do the unthinkable.
The weak and far below average European leaders can't do anything to stop him, so it seems that Denmark will have to simply accept its fate and lose Greenland forever.
There is, however, a strong card that Denmark could play to prevent the loss of its arctic colony: Russia.
We can easily assume that the Danish leadership already sends signals to the US imperialists, that the annexation of Greenland will lead to implications far beyond the dissolution of NATO. The Danish could push things to the edge as a kind of retaliation, by inviting the Russians to build a military base on Danish soil, and therefore, right at the heart of Europe and next to the German borders.
Such a scenario, would become a real nightmare for the Western imperialists and especially for the Anglo-American axis.
Consequently, the Russians (and probably the Chinese too), would die to see Trump annexing Greenland by any means.
The benefits for them could be enormous. Apart from the dissolution of NATO, and the possibility of a military base at the heart of Europe, Russia could also strategically secure Kaliningrad.
The Russian card, if used wisely by the Danish leadership, could also bring some pressure to the European leaderships in order to unite against Trump's Greenland ambitions, showing some real unity, courage and strength for the first time.
In any case, it's nice to see the Western colonial powers fighting each other, after a very long time. Lets hope that this could be the beginning of the end of the brutal Western imperialism.
