Τι πέτυχε ο Ισημερινός σε δέκα χρόνια με τον Ραφαέλ Κορέα

Χτύπημα στη φτώχεια και ανάπτυξη της οικονομίας, ακόμη και απέναντι σε δυο από τις σοβαρότερες κρίσεις της ιστορίας του Ισημερινού, καταγράφει έρευνα του αμερικανικού Κέντρου Οικονομικών και Πολιτικών Ερευνών (CEPR).

Εξετάζοντας την περίοδο της τελευταίας δεκαετίας, η έρευνα διαπιστώνει ότι ο Ραφαέλ Κορέα, αφήνει την προεδρία έχοντας πετύχει ετήσιο ρυθμό ανάπτυξης 1.5% για μια δεκαετία, από 0.6% που ήταν την προηγούμενη τριακονταετία.

Η φτώχεια μειώθηκε κατά 38% και η απόλυτη φτώχεια κατά 47% ενώ ιδιαίτερα σημαντική ήταν και η μείωση της εισοδηματικής ανισότητας.

Οι δαπάνες για την υγεία διπλασιάστηκαν ενώ συνολικά οι κοινωνικές δαπάνες αυξήθηκαν από το 4.3% του ΑΕΠ το 2006 στο 8.6% το 2016.

Συνολικά οι δημόσιες δαπάνες αυξήθηκαν από το 4% του ΑΕΠ το 2016 στο 14,8 το 2013 και σταθεροποιήθηκαν στο 10% το 2016.

Ο Ραφαέλ Κορέα δεν ήταν ριζοσπάστης πολιτικός ούτε περιφερόταν σε φεστιβάλ με σημαίες του Τσε Γκεβάρα δηλώνοντας μαρξιστής οικονομολόγος.

Αντίθετα η κριτική που δέχθηκε από τα αριστερά για τον τρόπο διακυβέρνησής του ήταν σκληρή – και δικαίως τη δέχθηκε.

Ο Ραφαέλ Κορέα, πριν γίνει πρόεδρος ήταν μετριοπαθής υπουργός Οικονομικών, ο οποίος αρνήθηκε να παραδώσει τη χώρα του στο ΔΝΤ και τις αμερικανικές τράπεζες. Ριζοσπαστικοποιήθηκε και έγινε «ηγέτης» λόγω της αντίδρασης του κόσμου στο παλαιό καθεστώς.

Από τα πρώτα χρόνια της προεδρίας του διέγραψε περίπου το 70% του ομολογιακού χρέους αφού πρώτα πραγματοποίησε λογιστικό έλεγχο.

Η πολιτική του ήταν εξαιρετικά μετριοπαθής αλλά φαντάζει ριζοσπαστική αν είσαι προδότης και έχεις εξαργυρώσει την προσωπική σου (αριστερή) διαδρομή για μια θεσούλα στην κυβέρνηση.

Ο Ραφαέλ Κορέα επίσης δεν περίμενε να ωριμάσουν οι «αντικειμενικές συνθήκες», να καταληφθούν τα χειμερινά ανάκτορα και να έρθει η λαοκρατία για να λάβει ορισμένα μέτρα για τους ανθρώπους που τον ψήφισαν.

Στην Ελλάδα δηλαδή θα τον είχε απορρίψει σύσσωμη η δεξιά. Πρώτα όμως θα τον είχαν κατακρεουργήσει τα κόμματα της Αριστεράς. Ποιος θέλει να προτείνει συγκεκριμένες λύσεις όταν μπορείς να ασκείς μόνο κριτική;
